After leaving a team of males to guard the cellar, Wu Yue led the rest of the tribespeople down the mountain.
Having been away from ho for a long ti, they all missed their families. After bidding everyone farewell, Wu Yue headed alone toward the witch’s cave.
Another Half beastman Warrior was on guard today. Upon seeing Wu Yue, a look of respect appeared on his face. "Are you here to see the witch?"
Wu Yue’s status as a witch was no longer a secret among the tribe’s core Beastn and Half beastman Warriors, and they all held her in high esteem.
This reverence deepened, especially since this newly ascended witch had already made nurous contributions to the tribe.
’So, this is what you’d expect from a Pure Human who can beco a witch?’
Wu Yue smiled and nodded. "Are the Clan Leader and the witch together?"
The Half beastman Warrior replied respectfully, "Yes, the Clan Leader just arrived a little while ago."
With that, he took a step forward, lowered his head, and whispered, "The witch from the Flying Eagle Tribe is also in the cave."
"The Flying Eagle Witch?"
The Half beastman Warrior glanced at the cave behind him. "Please wait here a mont while I announce you."
Wu Yue nodded. Watching the Half beastman Warrior go inside, she couldn’t help but recall the ti they encountered Beastn from the Flying Eagle Tribe during the last Fierce Beast hunt. They had seed quite friendly toward the people of the Snow Tiger Tribe.
’Could it be because the witches of the two tribes are on good terms?’
The Half beastman Warrior ca out quickly. He bowed and said, "The witch asks you to co in."
Wu Yue smiled and gave a slight nod to the Half beastman Warrior before walking into the witch’s cave.
The light inside the cave was dimr than outside, and it took her a few steps to adjust to the brightness.
In the deepest part of the cave, the Snow Tiger Witch and the Snow Tiger Tribe Leader were sitting on a pallet of grass. Beside them sat a gaunt, gloomy-looking old man, who she presud was the witch from the Flying Eagle Tribe.
She had heard that this Flying Eagle Witch was the most skilled in witchcraft among the witches of the four Great Tribes.
’I wonder if practicing witchcraft requires frequent contact with poisons. This witch certainly seems different from the others, with a sowhat sinister air about him.’
"Witch, Flying Eagle Witch, Clan Leader."
Wu Yue bowed to the esteed leaders.
A smile finally blood on the Snow Tiger Witch’s weary face. He pointed to a grass pallet to the side. "Sit down."
Seeing his poor complexion, Wu Yue was suddenly reminded of what the tribespeople had said about the lifespan of a witch, and her heart sank.
"What’s wrong? You don’t look well. Are you sick?"
Wu Yue’s concern was genuine, which made the smile on the Snow Tiger Witch’s face grow even wider.
He grinned from ear to ear. "I’m fine, just exhausted from the past few days."
Wu Yue was puzzled. ’As the witch at the very top of the tribe’s hierarchy, what could possibly have exhausted him like this?’
The Flying Eagle Witch looked at Wu Yue but addressed the Snow Tiger Witch. "Is this young female Ye Duo?"
’Who else but the Snow Tiger Tribe’s long-awaited Witch Disciple would get this kind of treatnt from his old friend?’
But the Snow Tiger Witch just pursed his lips. "That’s not Ye Duo. This is Wu Yue."
Then, looking imnsely proud, he turned to the Flying Eagle Witch. "Our tribe’s newly ascended witch. You can call her Wuyue."
’Our tribe’s newly ascended witch...’
The statent hit the Flying Eagle Witch like a thunderclap, leaving him utterly stunned.
He looked at Wu Yue several tis in disbelief, his wrinkled old face twitching as he turned to the Snow Tiger Witch, whose face was just as wrinkled. "When did this happen?"
The Snow Tiger Witch said, "Not long ago. After Ye Duo."
