The Flying Eagle Witch wore an expression that scread, "You’re pulling my leg, you old coot." "You found her after Ye Duo, and she’s already beco a witch in such a short ti?"
The Snow Tiger Witch gave a wry smile. "By the ti I found out, this little one had already beco a witch."
With that, he looked over at Wu Yue, the expression on his wrinkled old face couldn’t have been clearer.
’I can’t explain it. You’re on your own.’
Wu Yue smiled at the Flying Eagle Witch. "My Amu is a Witch Disciple. I know the thod for cultivating witch power, so I’ve been practicing by myself at ho every day."
The Flying Eagle Witch: "..."
’For so reason, the more you say that, the more my heart aches.’
He thought about how he had toiled for decades just to train one passable Witch Disciple, who to this day still hadn’t managed to successfully enter a state of complete ditation.
But this little one had already beco a witch, all under the influence of a Witch Disciple who wasn’t even a full witch herself?
Needless to say, he was seething with envy. The look he shot at the Snow Tiger Witch was like a volley of daggers.
"Warning! Host is under attack by unknown insects. Activating defense chanism. Host, please eliminate the insects as soon as possible.
Warning!..."
Just as Wu Yue was speaking with the two witches, a series of alarms suddenly blared in her mind, so loud they felt like they could shatter her eardrums.
Her body suddenly stiffened. She clutched her ears, her whole body convulsing as her face instantly turned deathly pale.
Wu Yue’s sudden fit utterly stunned the Snow Tiger Witch across from her.
He hurriedly stood up, a deep blue witch power floating on his palm, and was about to move forward to heal Wu Yue.
But before he could get close, Wu Yue, who had been in agony just a mont ago, lifted her head. Her face was covered in beads of sweat, and ssy strands of hair stuck to her cheeks. She was in a sorry state.
Her heavy, ragged breaths were exceptionally clear in the cave.
The Snow Tiger Witch looked at her. "Yue, what just happened to you?"
Bracing herself on the ground with both hands, Wu Yue said haltingly, "Just now... while I was talking with you, it suddenly felt like I was being attacked by so kind of insect. My head hurt terribly."
The Snow Tiger Tribe Leader stood up with a grave expression. After thoroughly inspecting the cave, he frowned at Wu Yue. "A witch’s cave is always stocked with insect-repelling herbs. There shouldn’t be any insects here.
"Have you been too tired these past few days? Is that why your head hurts?"
Wu Yue shook her head. ’My feeling wasn’t wrong. It was definitely insects biting , and there were a lot of them.’
With that, she called out in her mind, "System, open the scanner. I want to see just what’s attacking ."
But there was no reply. She didn’t hear the System’s familiar voice. Wu Yue’s heart tightened. "System?"
Still no response...
Wu Yue frowned. This was the first ti she had lost contact with her System since she got it.
The System had been gone for a period before, but it had told her its whereabouts in advance and even left a temporary replacent. This ti, however, it had vanished without any warning.
’Could it be that I’ve been too stingy lately, so the System went to find another host?’
At that mont, Wu Yue had no idea what a terrible shock the System would bring her when it finally reappeared.
But for now, facing the confused gazes of the three powerful figures around her, Wu Yue gritted her teeth and looked at the Snow Tiger Witch. "Do you have a stone bowl?"
A stone bowl?
The Snow Tiger Witch rummaged in a corner and pulled out a clean stone bowl. "What are you going to do?"
Wu Yue took it with both hands. "I’m going to find the insects that attacked ."
With that, she placed the stone bowl on the ground in front of her, then bit a small cut into her finger and dripped a few drops of blood into the bowl.
Then, she took a bamboo tube from the small basket at her side and poured so water in.
