Wu Yue nodded awkwardly. "I just forgot for a mont that I hadn’t brought my small basket."
With that, she pointed to the small Beast Skin pouch in his hands. "Inside is the reward the witch gave after we found the food last ti. I have no use for sothing like a Fierce Beast Crystal Core, so you should have it."
Yuan Lang didn’t stand on ceremony and accepted it. ’After all,’ he thought, ’once I beco stronger, I’ll still need to protect the young female.’
Furthermore, having learned one of the young female’s important secrets, the corners of the beastman’s lips were turned up for several days straight, a clear sign of his excellent mood.
The great rainy season continued, and as the days went by, the downpour grew even heavier.
Wu Yue couldn’t help but worry about the taro stored on the back hill. The hill hadn’t been flooded, but if this heavy rain continued, it was hard to say whether the taro would get damp and spoil. She didn’t have much confidence in the cellar, which had been her first attempt at digging one.
The more she thought about it, the more restless she beca. She got up and headed straight for Yuan Lang’s cave.

Startled, Wu Yue quickly spun around. Sure enough, she saw the beastman smiling at her as he wiped beads of sweat from his body.
Looking at the shirtless, still-sweating beastman and then at herself, shivering despite being wrapped in several layers of Beast Skin, Wu Yue felt a strange pang of sadness.
Yuan Lang gestured with his hand. "Co in."
The beastman’s cave was very clean and simple. Apart from a nest of straw, there were only a few Beast Skins in the corner.
The Beast Skins were placed on a wooden rack, likely to protect them from the damp.
It wasn’t a very large cave; one glance was enough to take it all in.
"Why are you sweating so much? Be careful you don’t catch a cold."
Yuan Lang chuckled. "Training my strength, of course. I’m going to beco the most powerful Beastman in this world, you know."
Seeing his confident expression, Wu Yue couldn’t help but grin as well.
The cave wasn’t large to begin with, and the two of them were standing quite close. Waves of heat radiated from the beastman’s body, making Wu Yue feel warm herself.
’I have to admit, this guy Yuan Lang has an amazing body. His muscles are firm and powerful without being too bulky. It’s exactly the kind of build I’m into, that’s for sure.’
"You’re drooling."
The beastman’s amused voice sounded beside her ear.
The young female, who had been staring intently, subconsciously raised a hand to wipe the corner of her mouth, only to find it completely dry.
She turned her head and, just as she’d expected, t the beastman’s teasing, laughter-filled gaze.
This ti, even soone as thick-skinned as Wu Yue couldn’t help but blush.
She imdiately averted her gaze, cleared her throat, and said, "The taro we harvested is still in the cellar. I want to go check on its condition."
She then frowned. "It’s been raining for so many days in a row, and this is our first ti building a cellar. If it’s damp inside, all the taro will spoil."
Yuan Lang nodded. After drying his hair, he walked to the corner, took out a Beast Skin tunic, and put it on. "Let’s go. I’ll accompany you to take a look."
Wu Yue nodded. The two of them put on the grass raincoats they had woven earlier and ran toward the nearby cellar area.
The cellars were guarded by Half beastman Warriors. They took turns staying in a hut built nearby, which was kept very warm and well-stocked with firewood and food.
Seeing two figures approaching from the main cave, the Half beastman Warrior on guard duty quickly put on his grass raincoat and ca out.
"Wuyue? Yuan Lang? Why have you co out in such a heavy downpour?"
Wu Yue smiled. "I wanted to get so taro from the cellar to make sothing tasty, so I asked Yuan Lang to co with ."
The Half beastman Warrior nodded, then chuckled. "You could have just sent one of the slaves to let us know. Why co yourself? It would be terrible if you got sick."
Despite his words, he led the two of them toward one of the cellars.
He stopped at the cellar on the far end. "The taro in this one is what we’ve been eating from. I’ll go down and get so for you."
Wu Yue smiled. "Let go down too. I actually haven’t been inside one since they were built and filled with taro."
The Half beastman Warrior smiled and lifted the stone slab covering the cellar to one side. "Because it’s always Beastman or Half beastman Warriors who go down, we haven’t set up any footholds."
