The female Beastn sat in the outer circle just like the male Beastn, drooling at the aroma of at.
The onlooking Half beastn and Pure Human females had pretty much learned what to do.
The female Beastn watched the Half beastn and Pure Human females gathered around the pot, a trace of envy rising in their hearts.
It couldn’t be helped. For so reason, female Beastman Warriors—as strong in combat as the male Beastman Warriors—seed to have been abandoned by the Beast God when it ca to cooking. They just couldn’t get the hang of it.
The food they made could only be described as a culinary disaster in the Beastman World.
When she figured enough ti had passed, Wu Yue poured in the taro—the very sa that made the tribespeople’s faces pale at the re sight of it—and put the lid back on the pot to let it stew.
As the BLUB-BLUB-BLUB of the stewing resud, the aroma of at mingled with the fragrance of taro and wafted out again. A chorus of GULP, GULP sounds rose from the crowd as they swallowed hard.
Yuan Lang, sitting right by the pot with his bowl at the ready, buried his handso face in the rising steam, his Adam’s apple bobbing nonstop.
"Isn’t it ready yet?"
Amused by this rare sight, Wu Yue lifted the lid and used a spoon to ladle a piece of taro and so at into his stone bowl. "You try it and see if it’s done."
The at and taro in his bowl stead gently. Yuan Lang’s eyes lit up as he picked up his chopsticks and popped a piece into his mouth.
The savory, tender at was infused with the flavors of the various seasoning fruits and spices from the pot, completely free of any gay taste. One bite was all it took for the Beastman to close his eyes in bliss.
The taro, anwhile, had soaked up the rich gravy, taking on a deep, aty flavor of its own. Its soft, creamy texture made it perfect for the tribe’s elders and young cubs.
For the Beastn and the younger mbers of the tribe, however, the at was naturally more appealing.
"So, how is it?" Wu Yue asked the Beastman, her eyes full of anticipation.
The surrounding tribespeople echoed her question with a synchronized wave of loud gulps.
Yuan Lang held his bowl out toward the pot. "It’s ready."
His aning couldn’t have been more obvious. Exasperated, Wu Yue filled a bowl for him, only to see the Beastman set aside the bowl of taro stew she had just given him and present another empty stone bowl. "This one is for ."
"What about the bowl I just gave you?"
The Beastman’s expression was perfectly nonchalant. "That one’s yours."
’The last few tis she’d cooked, the little female had shared the food with the rest of the tribe, leaving very little for herself. It’s better to just set a portion aside for her from the start.’
Yuan Lang stepped away from the pot, completely satisfied with his two bowls of stew. As soon as he moved, two Half beastman Warriors smoothly squeezed into his spot, flashing brilliant, white-toothed grins. "For the witch, and for us."
They did this every ti. Whenever they ca to get food for Wu Sheng, they would be sure to bring an extra stone bowl. The two of them would share that one. They were quite proactive about it.
The rest of the food was distributed among the families by the tribe’s Grandmas.
In any case, everyone got a taste. It was only then that they all realized that the lumpy dirt-clod that made one’s skin itch and burn was actually delicious.
Over the next few days, the tribespeople—having learned from Wu Yue that the taro was edible—began visiting the cellar on the back mountain one after another. The stores inside started to dwindle at a rate visible to the naked eye.
The Half beastn responsible for guarding the cellar were stunned by the tribe’s newfound obsession with taro. They had a strange feeling their guard duty might be ending ahead of schedule.
"Dog Host, haven’t you been a bit too lazy these past few days? All you do is eat, eat, eat! You’ve made zero progress on the Iron Claw Worm mission."
That day, having eaten and drunk her fill, Wu Yue was lying in her grass nest in the cave to digest. Suddenly, the System’s disdainful voice rang out, accompanied by an attack from a chubby little leg.
Watching the Blue Fatty repeatedly patting her with its chubby paws, Wu Yue sighed in comfort. "Don’t stop the massage."

It imdiately snatched its chubby little paw away from the Dog Host’s hoof.
The removal of the chubby paw made Wu Yue sigh in disappointnt. ’Without spending points to keep it in line, the System seems to have reverted to its old, difficult self.’
She shrugged. "I want to deal with the Iron Claw Worms too, but none have shown up since the last attack. Everywhere below the mountain is flooded, so there’s nowhere for to look."
The System looked at its lazy host, its small, furry face growing serious. ’Maybe this leisurely life has made the host too relaxed. It’s like her IQ has actually dropped.’
But then, a thought stopped it from voicing a reminder. ’In this Beast World, danger is the one thing that is never in short supply. If she loses the instinct to be ready for it at all tis, then the consequences...’
