He licked his fluffy little paws and lay down in a corner of the straw nest.
After a long silence from the Little Commander, Wu Yue got up, puzzled, and went to look for him.
She found the little guy lying in the straw nest, letting out little snores, and couldn’t help but shake her head in amusent.
Just as the mbers of the Snow Tiger Tribe thought tonight would be another peaceful one, danger descended quietly.
In the dead of night, a massive roar shook the cave, jolting all the tribe mbers from their dreams of feasting on at.
Wu Yue was also startled awake by the massive sound. She sat up in her straw nest, her heart pounding furiously.
The System was already sitting vigilantly at the cave entrance, its ears perked and its small, furry face etched with a grave expression.
Wu Yue got up to head outside but was stopped by the System. "Bring the dicinal powders. I can sll blood outside. Soone from the tribe must be hurt."
Her expression turned grave at his words. She turned, grabbed the basket from the corner of the cave, and headed out.
This ti, the System didn’t run off, but followed closely behind her.
When they reached the mouth of the cave, Wu Yue could hardly believe the bloody scene before her. The Pure Humans and Half beastman Warriors were completely unable to advance, forced to stay inside the cave to protect the other tribe mbers.
Further inside, the witch and two Half beastman Warriors were already treating the wounds of the injured.
Seeing this, Wu Yue hurried over. "Witch, I’m here."
The witch nodded. Witch power was flowing from his hands as he treated a Half beastman Warrior whose arm had nearly been severed.
Without disturbing him, Wu Yue went directly to another heavily injured male. Witch power flowed from her hands as she began to heal him.
She took the dicinal powders from her basket and gave them to Qingcao, who had rushed over, to treat the lightly wounded. For those who needed witch power, she and the witch took turns.
The witch handled the most severe cases, while she took care of the less critical ones.
It was only then that the System’s words from the previous night echoed in Wu Yue’s mind.
’He was right. I’ve been so lazy and careless lately. Not only have I not been thinking about how to complete my tasks, I’ve even neglected my important training.’
Injured tribe mbers were continuously brought inside, while the Half beastn and Pure Human males began using the wooden poles from their Iron Claw Worm hunt to deal with the swarming minions outside.
After treating all the injured tribe mbers, Wu Yue made her way to the front line.
There, she finally saw what the Beastn were fighting.
It was a giant Iron Claw Worm leading an army of its kind, a creature as large as a cave, perhaps even larger.
Wu Yue had seen Beastn fight Fierce Beasts before, but never had a battle terrified her like this one.
The giant Iron Claw Worm was incredibly fast, and its dark pincers glinted with a tallic sheen.
The Beastman Warriors fought while dodging the attacks of its giant pincers, because even a graze from them left a grueso, shocking wound.
"It’s been a long ti since a giant Iron Claw Worm like this has appeared."
The witch’s voice sounded beside her.
Wu Yue’s voice was a bit hoarse. "Is this type of Iron Claw Worm a Fierce Beast?"
The witch glanced at her, then chuckled and shook his head. "They don’t really qualify as Fierce Beasts. They’re just large, with very hard shells.
"This Iron Claw Worm looks terrifying, but a Gold Rank Beastman using the Beast God’s Power can still break through its hard shell.
"The only reason we’re letting the Low rank Beastn handle it is for training. After all, they are the future of the tribe. We old-tirs can’t protect you forever."
Wu Yue’s face flushed slightly. She could hear the expectation and encouragent in the witch’s words.
A bit ashad, she said, "I will work harder on my training."
The witch nodded in satisfaction at her words. Wu Yue had always been a smart kid.
With this realization, Wu Yue’s mood lightened considerably.
She looked out and saw that, sure enough, the Clan Leader and several of the older n were only dealing with the smaller Iron Claw Worms. The ones fighting the giant Iron Claw Worm were all young Beastman Warriors.
’Sure enough,’ she thought, ’the seniors are always training the next generation.’
What Wu Yue found amusing was that the older n were using the sa kind of wooden poles she had designed to catch the Iron Claw Worms. They speared the creatures while chatting casually, looking completely at ease.
Only the Clan Leader kept an occasional eye on the main battle. As long as the young Beastn weren’t in mortal danger, the veterans wouldn’t intervene.
