Anyone who didn’t know better would think he’d suffered so kind of inhuman abuse.
"WAAAH! What the @#￥%@* took you so long?!"
The Beastman hugging his leg was just babbling incoherently. Aside from "What took you so long?" the Beastman Warrior couldn’t understand a single word.
He looked down, bewildered, at the scrawny Beastman wiping snot all over his furry legs. "Who the heck are you?"
The sobbing Beastman Warrior choked, his tear-filled eyes looking up at the other with a hint of accusation. "It’s only been one rainy season. Have you already forgotten ?"
As he spoke, he fumbled to push aside the matted hair plastered to his face. "It’s !"
Once the dirty, tangled hair was parted, the Angry Beast’s gaunt cheeks ca into the Scorpion Beastman’s view.
"Holy crap! How the hell did you end up like this?"
Before the Angry Beast could answer, the Scorpion Beastman’s accusatory gaze shifted to Wu Yue and her group. To his surprise, however, the little female from the Snow Tiger Tribe was also wiping away tears from her reddened eyes.
The look she was giving them...
...made it impossible for him to say what he was about to.
But as soon as his back was turned, Wu Yue’s reddened eyes shot toward the Angry Beast, who was clinging to the Scorpion Beastman’s leg.
Her expression changed in an instant. A corner of her mouth quirked up, and the threat in her eyes couldn’t have been more obvious.
The Angry Beast trembled, and his hands instantly released their grip on the Scorpion Beastman’s leg. He wiped his tearless eyes and stood up. "Honestly, what took you guys so long? We were starting to think we wouldn’t be able to get back to the tribe before winter."
Seeing him act normal again, the Scorpion Beastman sighed and clapped him on the shoulder. "You guys... really. Getting yourselves into this state, you had us worried sick.
We brought the things the tribe asked for, so you can all co back with us this ti."
He then leaned close to the Angry Beast’s ear and whispered, "Those Snow Tiger Tribe Beastn... they didn’t do anything to you, did they?"
The Angry Beast froze. He stole a glance at the brightly smiling Wu Yue across from them and quickly waved his hands. "No, not at all! The Snow Tiger Tribe has been especially good to us. We’re so thin because we had trouble adapting to the Polar Forest and got sick a while back. We’ve just recovered, that’s all. Haven’t had ti to put the weight back on."
Wu Yue gave the Angry Beast an approving look. "That’s right. When they fell ill, we were terrified. Luckily, our tribe’s witch used her witch power to treat them. Otherwise, we were worried they wouldn’t have made it until you arrived."
Hearing this, the Scorpion Beastman looked at the Angry Beast again. The Angry Beast, suppressing the urge to curse Wu Yue a million tis in his head, reluctantly nodded. "Yup... that’s exactly how it was."
’It wasn’t like that at all! It was this little female, more terrifying than any Fierce Beast, who forced them to gather rocks nonstop. They were literally worked to the bone!’
Wu Yue’s threat toward the Angry Beast was blatant. Aside from the Scorpion Tribe Beastn who had their backs to her, the Yan Yan’s Tribe Witch and the Yan Yan Tribe Beastman Warrior standing nearby both noticed that sothing was amiss.
But since the Scorpion Tribe’s own Beastman Warrior had said as much, it wasn’t their place to comnt further.
The Yan Yan’s Tribe Witch’s gaze on Wu Yue, however, grew more profound.
One of the witches yawned, looking bored. "Alright, since that’s all settled, let’s disperse. The trade et lasts for a few more days, so everyone should get back to it."
With that, the group of witches walked off, their steps quick with excitent.
They chattered amongst themselves on the way, letting out excited bursts of laughter from ti to ti.
Wu Yue also smiled and bid farewell to the Scorpion Tribe Beastn and the people from the Yan Yan Tribe, preparing to check the trading grounds again to see if she could find anything new.
To her surprise, however, she and Yuan Lang had not gone far before the group from the Yan Yan Tribe caught up with them.
This witch from the Yan Yan Tribe had a very clear goal. She completely ignored Wu Yue, her shimring eyes locking onto Yuan Lang.
"Excuse , Beastman Warrior. I wonder if you would be willing to beco my mate and return with to the powerful Yan Yan Tribe?
You can be my first mate!"
