Her eyes were full of mirth and anticipation. She looked utterly confident, as if she were certain Yuan Lang would accept her proposal.
In stark contrast to the witch’s eagerness, the nearby Yan Yan Tribe Beastman Warriors each wore a grim expression.
’First partner?’
’How could the Lady Witch’s first partner be a Beastman from an outside tribe? They would never agree to it.’
But the Beastn knew their witch’s disposition all too well. So, though each of them looked appalled, no one said a word. They rely began secretly plotting how to kill Yuan Lang.
To their surprise, however, Yuan Lang rely gave the witch a cool glance before icily turning away, taking Wu Yue by the hand and continuing toward the trading post.
"Get lost."
He left behind only those two cold words, rejecting an offer the Yan Yan Tribe Beastn would have considered an unobtainable blessing.
But when they saw the Beastman holding the hand of the female beside him, they all ca to the sa conclusion. ’It seems this Beastman Warrior has feelings for the female at his side.’
Once Wu Yue and Yuan Lang were a good distance away, the smile vanished completely from the witch’s face, and her entire deanor turned dark.
The surrounding Beastman Warriors schooled their expressions, standing by in utter silence.
The witch watched the Beastman’s tall, imposing figure recede into the distance, an indecipherable darkness swirling in her eyes.
’He rejected again. He really never learns, does he!’
She sneered, her gaze sweeping across the Snow Tiger Tribe’s territory before she led the Yan Yan Tribe Beastman Warriors toward their lodgings.
anwhile, Wu Yue poked the Beastman Warrior beside her with a mischievous grin. "I see that Lady Witch is quite taken with you. Are you going to consider her offer?"
Yuan Lang shot her an annoyed glare. "I must regretfully decline."
Seeing his rare, stuffy formality, Wu Yue couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Suddenly, a Beastman’s voice sounded timidly from behind them. "L-Lord Wuyue."
Wu Yue turned to look and was surprised to see it was none other than the Angry Beast. Confused, she asked, "Shouldn’t you be with your tribesn? What do you need for?"
The Angry Beast miserably touched his still vividly green cheek. "When will our poison be cured?"
’Being poisoned by a re Witch Disciple from the Snow Tiger Tribe... As a Scorpion Beastman, it’s not exactly a point of pride.’
Wu Yue raised an eyebrow. "Don’t be in such a hurry. You’re still in the Snow Tiger Tribe, aren’t you? Once you leave our tribe, I’ll naturally give you the antidote."
That night, the fire pit in the Yan Yan Tribe’s house was still burning. Inside, not only were the Yan Yan Tribe’s Beastman Warriors present, but so were the Beastman Warriors from the Scorpion Tribe.
The Scorpion Tribe’s Beastman Captain had assud the Yan Yan’s Tribe Witch, taken by his handso looks, had summoned him for a ’celebration of life’. But seeing so many other Beastman Warriors in the house, his expression soured.
"I wonder what business the Lady Witch has summoned us for?"
Even as he asked, his restless gaze kept sweeping over the witch’s chest and rear. The late hour often left a Beastman feeling restless.
The witch, of course, noticed the Scorpion Beastman’s stare and felt a surge of pride.
She puffed out her proudest assets, then said in a soft voice, "Why don’t I see those few Beastman Warriors from earlier today?"
’From today?’
The Scorpion Tribe’s Beastman Captain was confused for only a mont before he realized who the witch was talking about.
At the thought of the Angry Beast, his expression softened considerably. "They were helping the Snow Tiger Tribe with labor for a while, so they’re not in the best shape. They’ve gone to rest."
The witch lowered her gaze and nodded. "Captain, I was wondering, what do you think of these stone houses in the Snow Tiger Tribe?"
’So, the Lady Witch wants to know how the Snow Tiger Tribe builds their houses.’
But speaking of the Snow Tiger Tribe’s stone houses, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of longing and admiration. "They’re much better than our houses."
He had to admit it. Their own stone houses were difficult to build, and while they were a symbol of strength and power, the damn things offered very little warmth.
In the past, so had tried to live in them during winter, but a frigid wind that seed to freeze one’s very bones would just gust right in. It was barely any better than standing outside.
