It took half a day for the group to descend from the mountain.
Several military vehicles were parked at the base of the mountain, and Zhao Dong opened the door, directing the warriors to carefully place Qin Jian into the vehicle.
“Directly to the military district general hospital,” Zhao Dong said to the communications officer driving.
“No need! Directly back to the military district quarters,” Qin Jian commanded.
“Are you sure you’re alright physically? You should still go to the hospital for a thorough check-up first!” Zhao Dong said.
“My body is in good shape! I know it myself, let’s go back to the district quarters first,” Qin Jian was eager to see his family.
At that mont, he wished he could grow wings beneath his ribs and fly back to their side.
Zhao Dong burst out laughing upon hearing this, “I’ve always heard that the commander is fond of his wife, but I didn’t expect it to be true! The first thing he does upon returning isn’t seeing a doctor, but his wife.”
The corner of Qin Jian’s mouth curled up as he glanced at him, “You’re not married yet, are you, Captain Zhao?”
“No.”
“You’ll understand this feeling when you have soone,” Qin Jian said, and his smile deepened.
“That’s only if it’s a beauty like your wife! If it were so shrew, I bet I wouldn’t want to go back at all,” Zhao Dong said with a chuckle.
The two chatted idly in the vehicle, and before they knew it, they had arrived at the military district quarters.
Qin Jian and Tian Niu were staying in different quarters, so the vehicle split at the crossroad.
Qin Jian returned to the large quarters of the military district, where the commander was located.
The vehicle slowly entered the quarters, and Qin Jian inexplicably felt nervous.
“Captain Zhao, how do I look now?” Qin Jian asked.
“You look a bit worse than usual, but overall, you still look good,” Zhao Dong said, his eyes crinkling into a line with laughter, “What’s the matter? Are you afraid your sister-in-law will disdain you?”
“That’s not it.” He was just worried that An Hao would see him like this and worry about him.
Because he knew that even if everyone else despised him, An Hao would never do so.
He had that confidence in An Hao.
At last, the vehicle arrived and parked in the residential area closest to the inside, with the most pleasant scenery—the commander’s ho.
An Hao heard the sound of the car engine from upstairs. She leaned out of the window.
The mont that military green figure suddenly entered her sight, An Hao was instantly stunned, her nose tingled, and tears stread down her face.
