An Hao had never seen Yan Ye like this before; he clearly looked troubled.

"They are in the ward right now! But you don’t need to go see them yet. I have a question I want to ask you."
"Go ahead, Teacher Yan."
"The old lady doesn’t want to have surgery. Her request is simple; she wants both families to et, to finalize the marriage between and Qiushu, and then watch us get married. After the wedding, she will consider the surgery."
Once Yan Ye said this, An Hao understood Mrs. Xiao’s thinking: "She is worried that she might die on the operating table without seeing her granddaughter’s wedding. She loves Qiushu so much that... Moreover, if her surgery fails and she dies on the operating table, then Qiushu wouldn’t be able to marry for another year! This is the custom in Nancheng!"
"Yes. I understand everything you said! She wants the best for us, but if it goes like this, I’m really worried that the old lady simply won’t make it without surgery, relying just on dication all these years has already been miraculous. I don’t believe one can create two miracles in a row! The old lady’s emotional state can’t handle any more fluctuations. I’m worried if she gets too agitated, she might just... die!" Yan Ye was not only concerned about the old woman’s safety but also worried about the possibility of his own wedding not happening.
After all, one only gets married once, and he didn’t want to see Lin Qiushu shedding endless tears every anniversary.
"As for the surgery, how confident are you?" An Hao asked.

"It’s indeed a difficult choice. Teacher Yan, we all know about Auntie’s grandmother’s physical condition; no matter what happens, you can’t be blad! Actually, at this ti, I think we should consider Auntie’s grandmother and Qiushu’s opinions." As doctors, they needed to make a recomndation.
However, ultimately the decision has to be made by the patient and the patient’s family.
Yan Ye had already discussed the pros and cons of having or not having the surgery with the old lady. So, they must have made a corresponding choice in their hearts after this long.
