"Yeah! Nothing we can do! We’re just unlucky to be caught in this!" Qin Jian felt frustrated but had no choice. Other than admitting defeat, what else could he do?
"But don’t be discouraged! Your reputation precedes you! There’ll be more joint military exercises in the future, and you should aim to have the Army participate next ti—maybe in a large-scale exercise at the Taiwan Strait!" Zhang Jianguo patted his shoulder as he spoke.

The two continued talking as they walked. Nearly at the entrance of the command center, Zhang Jianguo suddenly rembered what An Hao had told him.
So, he stopped walking and asked.
"Why don’t you ask about Commander Wu’s situation?"
"Since you haven’t ntioned it, I figured it must’ve been successfully resolved!" Qin Jian had actually guessed it already.
After yesterday’s incident, the division commander was frantic. He handed over the task of operational command directly to the division’s chief of staff and rushed to the hospital in his car.
When he returned today, his expression seed much more relaxed, which suggested Commander Wu was out of danger.
"Your guess is absolutely correct!" Commander Zhang teased him, deliberately leaving so suspense. "How about you take a guess who perford the surgery?"
The mont Zhang Jianguo said this, the first person Qin Jian’s mind went to was An Hao.
But then, he hesitated. How could that be possible?
The two places were so far apart; how could she travel such a long distance just to perform a surgery and leave?
"Can’t figure it out?" Commander Zhang asked.
"Could it be my wife?" Qin Jian casually threw the question out there.
"You guessed it spot-on! It was indeed An Hao who ca!" Zhang Jianguo chuckled.
A wave of exhilaration swept over Qin Jian’s heart, but he quickly cald down. "Wait a minute. How could it have been her performing the surgery? Did she co with Yan Ye?"
"Yes," Zhang Jianguo nodded. "She did co with Yan Ye. You wouldn’t believe it—Wuzi’s injury this ti was extrely precarious. The local hospital didn’t have the capability to handle the surgery. Finally, the hospital urgently contacted Yan Ye’s team, who ca by helicopter! At the ti, the hospital didn’t explain the situation clearly enough, and An Hao almost thought you were the one injured. She cried all the way here!"
"What? Sothing like that happened?" Qin Jian’s heart twisted with pain upon hearing this. "Who ssed this up? Who misled my wife into shedding all those tears?"
"Hahaha! Aww, just this tender-hearted?" Zhang Jianguo was amused by his reaction.
"Of course. How could I not care for my wife?" At the thought of An Hao crying like a blossoming pear drenched in rain, Qin Jian felt his heart ache again and again.
"Alright, I’ll give you a chance to go see your wife. Tonight, there’s an all-out dragnet operation that ends at 5 a.m. After that, I’ll give you three hours..."
"Got it! Give the address!"
"Oh, you! You really prove that heroes lose to beauty; it’s tilessly true! I’ve assigned Old Shang to arrange accommodations for them at the staff quarters behind the local hospital. "Yes, Commander!" Qin Jian grinned and saluted.

He had been suppressing his anger all day, but finally, he couldn’t stand it anymore and exploded at Big Guy.
"Big Guy, put down those chopsticks and stop eating!" Mu Qiankun shouted angrily.
