Qin Jian and his wife stepped forward to greet them and were then invited inside.
Duan Aihua enthusiastically brought out so fruit to entertain them.
Gu Shuangshuang, heavily pregnant, got up to make tea for them.
"Auntie, Shuangshuang, both of you don’t need to fuss over us! Qin Jian and I ca here to ask about those two’s situation! These past two days, Tian Niu has been calling nonstop, saying he’s made Shuangshuang angry! He wants to make Shuangshuang happy, racking his brain to buy gifts to cheer her up! He’s such a considerate man—what exactly has he done that’s so unforgivable?"
"Hmph." Duan Aihua, who had been warm and courteous just now, imdiately turned cold upon hearing this. "Ask Tian Niu! Shuangshuang is about to give birth, and he does sothing like that!"
"Oh my! My goodness! I feel like dying!" Tian Niu was really beside himself.
An Hao looked at Tian Niu’s state and felt certain that he wouldn’t do anything to betray Shuangshuang. Her gaze shifted to Gu Shuangshuang: "Shuangshuang, Tian Niu is the man you chose. Do you really think he’s so unreliable? Even if sothing happened, shouldn’t you directly tell him what the problem is?"
"If he made a mistake, does soone else really need to point it out? I don’t believe he doesn’t know what he did wrong, or isn’t aware!" Duan Aihua interjected.
Her imposing manner was arrogant, like a rooster ready for battle at any mont.
An Hao felt conflicted—if she clashed with her, it wouldn’t be good; if she didn’t, she wouldn’t be able to convince Duan Aihua.
She wasn’t soone who gave in easily.
She always held firm to her ideas and opinions, sothing An Hao was well aware of.
"Auntie, what’s that sll in your house? It seems like sothing’s burnt!" Qin Jian sniffed the air, catching the scent.
Duan Aihua’s expression changed: "My food! Please sit down—I’ll go check on it!"
"Auntie, don’t mind us!" With Duan Aihua gone, An Hao let out a small sigh of relief. Her face turned serious as she lectured Gu Shuangshuang: "What’s your problem? Before getting married, you were desperate to marry Tian Niu, and now, three days into the marriage, you’re constantly fighting. Fine, fight all you want—but at least tell him the reason, don’t just keep clenching your fists and guessing! Do you think this kind of marriage can last?"
"I..." Gu Shuangshuang was at a loss for words after An Hao scolded her. She pouted in grievance and let out a deep sigh. "I don’t want to be mad at him either. You know I’m pregnant right now. I already feel ugly, and my mood is unstable! But him? He went out and acted all flirty with so strange girl on the street!"
"What? Are you talking about ?" Tian Niu’s eyes widened like lightbulbs. "When have I ever done that?"
"My mom saw it. She saw you on the street undressing so girl!" Gu Shuangshuang finally spilled the truth, and after saying it, her eyes turned red, tears trickling down uncontrollably.
"What? That’s a huge misunderstanding! I didn’t do that at all!"
"Stop trying to weasel your way out!"
"My mom said that the girl was sitting against a wall, eyes closed, breathing softly. You unclothed her, and then, when people ca by, you bolted away. My mom tried to chase after you but lost you! Tell , what on earth were you doing? I’m pregnant—it’s not like I’m here for you to treat like this! Have you already moved on so quickly?" Gu Shuangshuang started crying quietly again.
After hearing her accusations, Tian Niu suddenly recalled what had happened a few days ago. The scene on the street unfolded clearly in his mind, and the girl’s face vividly surfaced in his mory.
"Shuangshuang, let explain—here’s what really happened at the ti..."
