Chapter 1891: Chapter 1892: Lend a Hand When Possible
“Good girl, An Ping.”
“Dad, I just heard from An Ping that the test results are all good.” An Hao said with a smile.
“It’s all good, you don’t have to worry about . This child always finds ti to see you; I was worried he might disturb your work.”
“I just finished a surgery, so I’m not too busy. That’s why I ca to check on things,” An Hao said, her gaze drifting to An Hui standing nearby.
“Oh, this ti An Hui accompanied for the check-up. Yes, he’s been behaving well lately. I think he genuinely wants to make ands…” As soon as his daughter ca over, An Shuchao started chattering.
An Hui stood awkwardly to the side, his head slightly lowered, not daring to et An Hao’s eyes.
She was too formidable, with a penetrating gaze that seed capable of cutting into one’s heart.
? So he tried his best to avoid his gaze eting An Hao’s in the air.
“Thank you, An Hui.” To his surprise, An Hao thanked him, her tone and deanor sincere.
“No need to thank . I’m the one who should be grateful. I was so clueless before; if it weren’t for you and your family helping us, we’d probably still be like hunted mice…” An Hui earnestly expressed his regret and sincerity.
“Let’s not talk about the past. What I hope for is for your family to live peacefully and harmoniously.” An Hao only wished for her uncle’s family to live well so that her own family could have peace.
“Yes, yes!” An Hui quickly nodded.
Seeing An Hao and An Hui reconcile put An Shuchao’s mind at ease.
He happily stood up, called An Ping and An Hui to head ho, and after bidding farewell to An Hao, he turned to leave.
Just then, a young woman rushed in like the wind, holding a child, a look of urgency on her face as she shouted, “Make way! Please make way!”
The people who heard her quickly cleared a path in the crowded hall.
But An Shuchao’s legs weren’t very agile; he was a bit slow in evading and was accidentally bumped by the woman.
“Don’t you have eyes? Can’t you see this old man’s legs aren’t agile? Why are you rushing?” An Hui, seeing An Shuchao being bumped, lashed out without thinking.
The woman didn’t have ti to apologize, holding the child as she called out in the hall, “Ergency! Which way to the ergency?”
“Head east along the hall, then turn and you’ll see it.” Soone pointed out a way for her.
“East? Which way is east?” The woman spun around anxiously in the hall, it being her first ti in this hospital and not knowing the directions.
“Dad, I’ll take a look.” An Ping saw his father wasn’t hurt badly, while the woman was clearly distressed and the child in her arms was likely sick.
“Go, go. If you can help, then help.” An Shuchao saw the woman’s simple clothes and figured she was new to the city from the countryside, unfamiliar with the surroundings.
An Ping quickly ran to the woman’s side, patted her shoulder, and said, “Don’t worry, follow .”
“Thank you.” Tears of gratitude almost fell from the woman’s eyes.
An Ping led the woman directly to the ergency departnt to see a doctor.
The woman explained the child’s condition to the doctor; the child was only six or seven months old and had been having a fever since catching a cold two days ago.
This morning, the fever worsened, and the child began convulsing, nearly losing consciousness.
