Two runners approached the gate of Citadel City, and as they entered, almost all eyes were on them. It had been a while since they had seen such expensive-looking and well-designed vehicles in the city, because even that of the Mayor wasn’t that luxurious.

’Is that not Roman Rings?’ He had to ask himself that question, and he didn’t need an answer because he was already sure.

He had already seen several pictures of him, and even the clips of the clash that had happened in the city’s market on Trade Day.

He was already too familiar with the face to fail to recognize him at once, but at this point, it just happened that he couldn’t do what he had planned to do when he would finally set his eyes on him.

He extended his hand for a handshake, but she instantly ignored him as she walked into the building without permission, stunning the entire council and even the guards as well.

The Mayor’s eyes widened as he quickly followed after she had entered the building, his heart beating fast and uncontrollably.

Roman had also entered the building without getting a single question from the guards, and he couldn’t imagine it for a second.

The presence of North Rockbridge had turned the entire Citadel upside down... What if it was the entire Dominion Legion group?

The famous group the Reach knows as the Tyrant Slayers... The Mayor might as well have been shitting his pants at that mont after the way North had responded to his greeting.

Everyone was soon in the eting room, where North had imdiately gone straight to the point the mont he walked in.

"A monster outbreak in one of your outposts in Blood Trial Valley. A hundred and forty-three people devoured and killed, including the Head who poisoned himself to death," North began.

"Mayor Ferdinand Skyrow. How do you explain that you haven’t heard about this?" North asked.

"I did... I... I just heard about it, and I was just about to send so n there to confirm if it’s true," Ferdinand lied, his voice breaking a few tis.

"Lies..." North stood up. "Now the question should be, how long can you lie about what you have done?"

"I... I don’t understand," Ferdinand’s jaw dropped.

North then turned to Roman, who imdiately began speaking.

"You plotted the monster outbreak with one of your Guild generals, Your Honor. Na? General Warden, who arrived in Blood Trial Outpost about five days ago, exactly two days before the outbreak happened."

"The plan was to take the best Entrants in the valley and murder them in the forest, and make sure monster attack marks were left on their bodies to make people believe they were actually killed by monsters.

"That wasn’t the end. You still ordered them to slay the Boss alone, so the other hierarchies and monsters of the sa species would follow the scent of the attack, trail them to the community, and cause the chaos that you had all wanted."

"A hundred and forty-three people died, don’t forget that. And that was your doing, Mayor Ferdinand Skyrow. It was what you plotted with so of the Guild leaders and your counciln, and trust , you’ll all pay."

When Roman finished talking, Ferdinand was almost completely taken aback.

"No. No, that’s not true. You can’t just accuse us of sothing like that, and of course I’m a hundred percent sure you have no proof of that," Ferdinand boasted, and suddenly Roman gave him the kind of look that said, "Really?"

At that mont, he had already switched to the Seer Profession and had activated [Echoes of the Past].

With his hand on the table, Roman received floods of information entering his head, and he noted each and every one of them until he was done.

He then turned to North before turning back to Ferdinand.

"We want to see the man you kept under house arrest during your last eting," Roman said.

Not only Ferdinand had been completely stunned by that question, but his council mbers as well.

They would swear that no one was there except them at that eting, but sohow, he was asking them to provide the man they had kept under house arrest?

How did he happen to know?

"Well, if you really want to prove that you have no idea what you have been accused of, take us to him, and we will do the questioning," North said with a smile.

Ferdinand knew that he literally had no choice, so he led them to Gavin’s ho, who literally had no idea that sothing was going on in the Citadel.

A couple of guards were guarding his house to make sure his sentence was properly served, but when the Mayor asked them to step aside, they did, and they went in right after.

Gavin’s eyes widened when he spotted North Rockbridge and Roman Rings, because they were sohow two familiar faces, and he could also notice the look of unease in the Mayor’s eyes, which was enough to show that sothing was wrong.

And then, they didn’t even waste ti because North wanted to get to action quickly enough.

"I just have a few questions for you, Master Gavin, and this question decides whether you live or die today. So it’s your choice to save your life and the life of your family," North said to him before turning to Roman.

And Roman went ahead and asked.

"Did you, the rest of the council, and the Mayor know about what happened in Blood Trial Outpost?"

Gavin flinched, turned to North, turned to Ferdinand, turned to Roman, and then turned to North again.

Tense.

And after a long mont of hesitation, he muttered,

"Ye..."

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

However, just when he was about to give the answer that Roman and North wanted, a sudden devastating strike hit the building, and that was suddenly the end of the interview.

The entire building was burning within seconds.
