The roaring was incessant as terrifying flas soared into the sky. Destructive power swept in all directions, causing the entire forest to shake violently.
From a distance, onlookers gazed up and exclaid, "What terrifying power!"
"Who is fighting?"
"Could it be a duel between Seven-Star Martial Generals?"
"That place is too frightening. We must not go over there."
After a long ti, the destructive power slowly dissipated. The surrounding Martial Artists who had been watching widened their eyes and stared ahead. Finally, they saw two figures.
One was standing, the other kneeling.
A victor had been decided!
The crowd exclaid in shock. Who was standing? And who was kneeling? They couldn’t see clearly.
Soone bravely walked forward, and upon getting closer, they finally got a clear view.
"Heavens!"
"What?"
"How is this possible?"
"My God, what am I seeing?"
The few people at the front cried out in astonishnt. Those further back grew even more curious.
"Who won?" they asked.
"Hurry up and tell us!"
"Ah, the suspense is killing !"
"You should see for yourselves. I can hardly believe my own eyes."
Hearing this, the people in the back gritted their teeth and rushed forward. When they drew near and saw the scene, they were all dumbfounded.
"No way... am I dreaming?"
"How could it end up like this?"
"This is simply unbelievable."
These people were utterly stunned. They found that the one standing was Lin Xuan. His face was a bit pale, but he was otherwise uninjured. Kneeling on one knee was Huo Lingzi. His face was ghastly white as he spat out mouthfuls of blood, clearly having suffered a severe blow.
Huo Lingzi had actually lost! It was too incredible to believe!
Huo Lingzi was a genuine Six-Star Martial General, and he had even brought out three types of Spiritual Fire! Even more astonishingly, he had fused them together. A technique like that could be described as heaven-defying! Even a Seven-Star Martial General might not have been able to withstand it. But what was the result?
Huo Lingzi had lost! A complete and utter defeat! If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, they would never have believed it.
"Impossible! How could I lose? How could the Three-Colored Lotus be defeated?" Huo Lingzi frantically shook his head, unable to accept the reality.
As an arrogant genius who stood high above others, he had never considered Lin Xuan a worthy opponent. Yet now, he had been defeated by Lin Xuan’s hand.
"Damn it! I didn’t lose to you, I lost to the Anomalous Fire!"
"A loss is a loss. Why so much nonsense?" Lin Xuan sneered and strode forward. He raised his fist, preparing to execute Huo Lingzi.
"You dare kill !" Huo Lingzi’s expression changed dramatically. "Are you insane?"
Lin Xuan sneered, "You wanted to kill . Why can’t I kill you?"
With that, Lin Xuan threw a punch. His fist flew like a Serpent, whistling through the air.
The crowd gasped. "It’s over! Huo Lingzi is going to die!"
This kid was about to tear the heavens asunder. The Ten Thousand Flas Sect would definitely not spare him.
"Damn you!" Huo Lingzi roared. He crushed a Jade Pendant he was wearing, and instantly, a tiger made of flas burst out from it. It swept him up and soared into the sky, disappearing in a flash.
Lin Xuan’s punch hit nothing but air. He looked up at the sky and frowned.
He actually escaped! That guy had a life-saving treasure! But it makes sense. He’s a top prodigy visiting such a dangerous place; how could he not have an ace up his sleeve for survival? Defeating soone like him is easy, but killing them is not.
But Lin Xuan wasn’t too concerned. Huo Lingzi was no longer a threat to him. The man’s fla fusion technique, however, had certainly caught his interest.
I wonder if I could gather more flas in the future and fuse them together?
Lin Xuan withdrew his gaze and looked toward the spot where the Golden Spirit Fruit had been, only to find that it had been reduced to ruins. Such a precious Spirit dicine had vanished just like that. What a pity.
Shaking his head, he prepared to leave.
But at that very mont, angry roars erupted from the surroundings. A sea of fire surged from the distance, sweeping across the landscape as if to overturn heaven and earth. As it drew closer, Lin Xuan realized it wasn’t a sea of fire, but a horde of Demon Beasts.
They were Fire Rat Beasts. Each was wreathed in flas like a small fireball, and they charged over with crazed intensity.
"Not good, they’re Demon Beasts from the Secret Realm!"
"Damn it, there are too many of them! Run!"
The spectating Martial Artists scattered, fleeing for their lives, but they were soon swallowed by the horde of Demon Beasts.
"Get out of my way!" soone roared, launching a furious counterattack and killing several Fire Rat Beasts. But more sward in, overwhelming them.
So fell, instantly engulfed in flas. Others ran frantically, but it was useless. They were swiftly slain by the Fire Rat Beasts.
The swarm was like a tide, covering the land and devouring everything in its path. Even Lin Xuan’s expression changed drastically. He executed the Wandering Dragon Body Technique, dodging swiftly as he sprinted wildly away. The Fire Rat Beasts pursued him relentlessly.
Lin Xuan was fast, but unfortunately, he soon ca to a cliff’s edge. It was a dead end. He frowned as the tide of Fire Rat Beasts rolled in behind him.
"Do you need my help?" Just then, a woman’s voice rang out.
Lin Xuan’s expression shifted. "Who’s there?" His gaze swept sharply across his surroundings.
A few ters away, the air wavered, and a woman stepped out. She was dressed in a long purple skirt and wore a veil that hid her face, but she carried an air of nobility, like a high and mighty sovereign.
Lin Xuan was utterly astonished. When did she get so close to ? How did I not notice her at all?
He quickly asked, "Black Dog, didn’t you sense her before?"
"I sensed her," the Black Dog replied.
"Then why didn’t you tell ?"
The Black Dog rolled its eyes. "Kid, so things you need to experience for yourself. Flowers raised in a greenhouse have no future. Only by weathering the storm can you reach the pinnacle. I will only remind you at the most critical monts, and I will only intervene when you face a mortal crisis. Other than that, I won’t be providing much help. Everything depends on you. Don’t rely on others."
"I understand," Lin Xuan nodded. He fixed his eyes on the woman and asked, "Who are you, and how can you help ?"
"Let’s not discuss my identity for now. I have a way to get you out of here and break through the encirclent," she said. "However, I need you to do a favor. I need the power of your Anomalous Fire. If you agree, I’ll lead you away. Otherwise..."
The woman in purple didn’t finish, but her aning was clear. Without her help, Lin Xuan was dood. Behind him was a cliff, and before him was an endless horde of Fire Rat Beasts. He was trapped with no escape.
Lin Xuan frowned. Is she threatening ? Does she really think I have no way out?
He contemplated the crisis. It’s not like I’m out of options. First, I could just fly away. Second, I could fight my way through the encirclent.
Lin Xuan could achieve neither of those. But he did have a third option.
I can use my Soul Power. As a Grandmaster-level power, it can directly suppress these Fire Rat Beasts.
Thinking this, Lin Xuan snorted coldly. "Do you really think I can’t handle these Fire Rat Beasts? I can deal with them just fine without you."
The woman in the purple dress was stunned for a mont, not expecting his refusal.
How could this be? Anyone with half a brain would agree to my terms. Why did this kid refuse? Does he plan to fight the Fire Rat Beasts head-on? Impossible. With so many of them, no one could face them directly. Even I could only manage to escape. He must be bluffing.
But in the next mont, Lin Xuan strode forward, directly toward the horde of Fire Rat Beasts. He was preparing to use his Soul Power. It was a mysterious and unpredictable force, one that the Fire Rat Beasts couldn’t possibly withstand, no matter their numbers.
The woman in the purple dress furrowed her brows. Is this kid crazy? Is he seeking death? He can’t possibly hold them off. Just watch, he’s about to be turned into ash.
