Faced with the overwhelming swarm of Fire Rat Beasts, Lin Xuan showed no intention of dodging. The purple-clad woman beside him frowned, thinking this young man was simply courting death.
*Sigh.* She sighed to herself. She had originally hoped to find a good partner, but it seed this young man wasn’t in his right mind. She prepared to leave, possessing an extrely mysterious cloak that could conceal her figure, and was about to sneak away.
But at that mont, Lin Xuan waved his hand and produced a bronze, octagonal bell, which he promptly activated.
CHI! CHI! CHI!
A crisp sound rang out, carrying a magical power.
The purple-clad woman shuddered upon hearing it. She felt so dizzy that she almost fainted. Fortunately, the necklace she wore began to glow with purple light, enveloping her head and blocking the bell’s sound.
"This is a Soul attack!" the purple-clad young woman exclaid, looking at Lin Xuan in astonishnt.
She saw Lin Xuan holding the bronze bell, shaking it continuously as the mysterious and eerie sound spread in all directions.
Hearing the sound, the Fire Rat Beasts at the front let out howls of unease and beca agitated. They crashed about wildly like headless flies, charging in every direction. Many even charged straight off the cliff and fell into the canyon below. Not a single one charged at Lin Xuan; they all seed to be avoiding him.
RUMBLE...
More and more Fire Rat Beasts lost their senses, charging straight off the cliff. In the end, only a few dozen remained, rolling on the ground and foaming at the mouth.
With the threat resolved, a smile touched the corner of Lin Xuan’s mouth. This Soul attack is truly terrifying, he marveled inwardly. Such a frightening swarm of Fire Rat Beasts was dealt with in an instant. Truly heaven-defying!
"How about that?" Lin Xuan glanced at the purple-clad woman, raising an eyebrow.
The purple-clad woman was dumbfounded, utterly shocked.
When Lin Xuan had claid he could handle it alone, she thought he was just bragging. She never expected him to actually succeed! To think he possessed such a powerful weapon! That’s a Soul Weapon!
Although her status was special, and obtaining a Soul Weapon wouldn’t be difficult for her, she couldn’t actually wield one. Her Soul Power was insufficient. Yet this young man had not only obtained a Soul Weapon but could also use it! He was truly heaven-defying!
Seeing Lin Xuan about to leave, the purple-clad woman hurriedly rushed over and blocked his path again.
Lin Xuan frowned. "What’s the aning of this? If you’re looking for a fight, then don’t bla for what happens next."
"Young Master Lin, I have no intention of being your enemy. Allow to introduce myself. I co from the royal family of the Great Xia Country. My na is Zi Yan."
Lin Xuan was taken aback. He never expected this woman to be a princess! Such an identity was truly extraordinary. In the entire Great Xia Country, she was an exalted existence.
So it was Princess Zi Yan. Lin Xuan’s attitude softened slightly. He nodded and said, "Princess, what is it that you want?"
Princess Zi Yan said, "I know of a place that holds treasure. It contains sothing I want, and there are also Celestial Spirit Fruits. However, the place is a bit tricky. We need the power of an Anomalous Fire to enter. That’s why I want to team up with you. I’ll lead the way, and you’ll use your Anomalous Fire. Once we’re inside, we split the treasure equally. Celestial Spirit Fruit? Lin Xuan’s eyes lit up.
One of his two main goals for this trip was to find the Celestial Spirit Fruit. However, the item was incredibly rare, even within the Celestial Spirit Ruins. Lin Xuan had originally thought he would have to rely on luck, so he was surprised to suddenly get a clue to its whereabouts.
After a mont of thought, he nodded. "Alright, let’s cooperate."
"Excellent." Princess Zi Yan smiled, then began to lead the way.
The pair crossed the forest and arrived at a mountain range. After weaving through the mountains for so ti, they finally arrived at the foot of a peak completely covered in thick vines.
Princess Zi Yan waved her hand, and a flash of purple blade-light shot out, slicing open the vines and revealing a mysterious cave entrance.
Lin Xuan watched in astonishnt. "You even know about a place like this?"
Zi Yan laughed. "I have a map, which is how I know about this hidden location."
So that’s how it is. As expected of a royal princess. She even managed to get her hands on a map of the ancient ruins. Truly extraordinary.
Just like that, Zi Yan used her blade-light to slice through the vines, clearing a path forward. Finally, they reached the depths of the passage.
At the end of the passage was a blue door etched with mysterious patterns.
Zi Yan stopped. "This is it. The treasure is behind this door. However, this door is special. It’s made of millennium-old ice and carries an extrely terrifying freezing power. Touching it will get you frozen solid, and even attacks with Spiritual Power can’t break it quickly. The Ice Gate is protected by a terrifying Array and can only be broken by fire. Since you possess an Anomalous Fire, you should be able to open it."
Lin Xuan was surprised. A door made of millennium-old ice? He had truly never seen such a thing before.
He reached out and placed his palm against the door. A bitter chill imdiately swept over him, and his hand was instantly covered with a layer of frost. The cold began to creep up his arm.
How terrifying! Lin Xuan gasped. The sensation reminded him of the Nine Nether Lotus.
Lin Xuan snorted, and the Anomalous Fire within him erged. Blue flas surged out, and the frost on his arm instantly lted, turning into drops of water that fell to the ground.
Then, Lin Xuan urged his Anomalous Fire. The Nine Heavens Mystical Fire transford into a large Flaming Palm that slapped fiercely forward.
As the Flaming Palm struck the Ice Gate, a loud sizzling sound echoed and white steam billowed out. Lin Xuan roared, activating his Divine Dragon Arm. Combining its powerful force with the Flaming Palm, he began to push the millennium-old Ice Gate open.
RUMBLE...
With a low, grinding sound, the door finally moved, revealing a crack.
Lin Xuan withdrew his hand and wiped the sweat from his forehead. That single move had consud a great deal of his strength. He quickly took out an Elixir to restore his Spiritual Power.
At the sa ti, he peered inside curiously, not daring to enter recklessly.
"I’ll go in first," Zi Yan said. She stepped forward and waved her hand, causing a purple Shield to appear. Holding the Shield in her left hand and a long purple blade in her right, she walked in, fully prepared.
Lin Xuan also enveloped himself in his Anomalous Fire, forming a Fla Battle Robe, and followed close behind. The two of them stepped through the Ice Gate.
BOOM!
As soon as they were both inside, the door unexpectedly slamd shut behind them! Lin Xuan was startled.
Zi Yan, however, said, "Don’t be afraid. The door can also be opened from the inside. Let’s go, the treasure is just ahead."
Zi Yan produced a Luminous Pearl, which illuminated the area. The two walked forward.
Ahead of them stood three stone platforms. One platform held a scroll of unknown contents. To their surprise, each of the other two platforms held a Celestial Spirit Fruit
