That Time My Significant Other Was "Spider-chan" Chapter 84 84: Welcome to the Realm of Gods [BONUS]
*Clack-clack-clack!*
Inside the room, the continuous, rapid sound of tapping on a keyboard shattered the silence. Watching the young girl before him grow increasingly irritated, the little white spider inside the glass enclosure cheered secretly. From her expression, it was glaringly obvious that his main body had successfully deciphered the critical intel he had risked his life to send over. Otherwise, the girl wouldn't be in such a panic.
Before long, the typing suddenly ground to a halt, followed by a long, heavy sigh.
"Look at what you've done!" D poked her finger directly at the little spider's head, her tone laced with a hint of smoldering rage.
The little spider shrank back, then rubbed against her finger in a fawning manner, speaking in a soft, squishy voice, "Master, I was wrong..."
D's finger froze for a mont before she let out a cold snort. "I'll deal with you later!"
With that, the girl vanished from the room, her destination unknown.
The little spider wiped away his imaginary cold sweat, having honestly thought he was completely done for. He hadn't expected to dodge a bullet. Letting out a massive sigh of relief, he then locked his eyes onto the monitor with an expression full of pure excitent.
"Where am I...?"
After slipping into unconsciousness, Shiro had lost all perception of ti. When she finally ca to, she found herself floating inside a pitch-black abyss. To be precise, it was her consciousness that had manifested within this uncharted space.
"My intriguing Miss Spider, we finally et face-to-face."
A familiar, elegantly beautiful voice echoed from right behind her. An unsettling dread instantly gripped Shiro's heart. She recognized that voice imdiately—it belonged to D.
But why on earth was D appearing here?!
She didn't dare turn around. For so inexplicable reason, she absolutely did not want to look at D's face, instinctively sensing that sothing profoundly terrifying would happen if she did.
"Just to be safe, I temporarily evacuated you both to this space to take refuge."
Hearing D's explanation, the chaotic mories from right before her blackout flooded back into Shiro's mind. Eating the bomb, losing consciousness, the unimaginable agony, the pain redirection...
*Where is Aze?*
*Why isn't he here with ?*
"He's fine, nothing serious. I simply didn't want him overhearing our little chat," D continued to explain, her voice carrying a faint trace of lancholy. "You should rest and recuperate here. I'll have Gülie handle the aftermath in the lower world. Oh, and rember to reclaim the excess energy you stored inside those eggs~ Right now, that's exactly the kind of raw power your current self desperately lacks. As for the energy stored in your weapon, leave it be for now; it will serve a grand purpose in the future."
D made all the decisions for her with imnse consideration. Only then did Shiro rember that due to the blinding pain at the final stretch, she had funneled a colossal amount of raw energy straight into the unhatched spider eggs. Thanks to D's reminder, she realized just how vital that power truly was.
Having briefly summarized the situation, D offered her sincere congratulations:
"Welco to the realm of Gods... naless spider."
Hearing this, Shiro's heart skipped a heavy beat.
*Naless...*
*She called naless!*
Shiro had long harbored deep suspicions regarding the true nature of her identity and her na. She wasn't stupid; in fact, she saw through certain things clearer than anyone else. It was just that the truth was often entirely too cruel, so she had continuously chosen to avoid confronting it. Now that D had addressed her this way, the definitive answer was rapidly surfacing.
"Ah~ always calling you 'Miss Spider' is a bit awkward... Hmm, how about I give you a proper na instead? Consider it a celebratory gift for your ascension to Godhood, what do you think?"
D made the proposal with a bright, flowing smile, yet Shiro couldn't bring herself to feel even a shred of joy.
"From this mont on, your na shall be Shiraori~"
At that exact instant, Shiro felt an invisible shackle anchor itself deep within her soul. She knew precisely what this was—it was a spiritual master-servant connection established when a higher-dinsional lifeform bestows a na upon a lower-tier existence. In other words, she had effectively beco her subordinate.
The fiercely independent Shiro absolutely loathed being bound by anyone, even if the person in question was an omnipotent, supre Evil God. She would never bow her head to anyone. Whoever dared strip away her freedom was her sworn enemy!
Driven by this resolve, Shiro slowly turned around. She wanted to see exactly what kind of face belonged to the God she would eventually have to overthrow. But the mont she fully turned her body and locked her gaze onto D's face—
*BOOM!*
A cataclysmic thunderclap tore through the sky.
"!!!"
Shiro stared at D's face in absolute, paralyzing horror, her eyes nearly popping out of their sockets. She was completely, utterly shell-shocked! What in the absolute living hell was this?!
*Why does D look exactly like ?!*
Before she could even open her mouth to speak, D's voice drifted out once more. A trace of a mocking smile played at the corners of her lips, her tone carrying a light hint of teasing irony.
"Once you've figured everything out, co find on Earth. But... it's best if you co alone~ After all, you wouldn't want *him* finding out about this, would you?"
Shiro's brain buzzed violently, entirely incapable of processing the sheer weight of the implication. In the next instant, she lost consciousness yet again, plunging right back into an endless, dark void.
"Wow! That wicked woman, how can her scheming be so deeply calculated?!"
Inside the glass enclosure, the little spider stamped his tiny feet in pure outrage as he watched everything unfold across the monitors. "Still, this doesn't really fit D's usual style of doing things, does it? Before this, didn't she treat Shiro basically like her own biological daughter?! Why is she being so heartless this ti? Could she... be jealous? Huh?! Holy crap, it actually makes sense..."
The little spider's train of thought leaped rapidly, instantly connecting a multitude of puzzle pieces together—especially regarding the current state of his main body.
In the past, the main body was fundantally a girl. No matter what kind of intimate relationship developed between him and Shiro, D probably viewed it as nothing more than a harmless, trivial ga. But now, everything was different. The entire board had completely derailed from the script she had ticulously engineered.
"No wonder that woman has been frantically trying every trick in the book to force the main body to maintain a female form. After eons of plotting, it turns out she's terrified her own man is going to get snatched away by her daughter!"
The deeper he analyzed it, the more the little spider felt his deductions were hitting the absolute bullseye. Judging from how frantically she had been slamming her keyboard earlier, it was safe to assu his main body had fully recovered his true nature. D was starting to panic.
That was why she forced Shiro to awaken to her true identity, forcing her to realize that she was never Wakaba Hiiro to begin with. And that final parting shot—"You wouldn't want him finding out about this, would you?"—was a psychological jab, subtly implying that the main body had always loved the real Wakaba, not Shiro.
Quietly, invisibly, D had planted a seed of doubt deep within Shiro's heart, leaving it to take root and grow. Once doubt is manufactured, the phantom cri is already established!
As intelligent as Shiro was, she would inevitably overthink the underlying aning behind those words. Ultimately, it would breed a massive misunderstanding, causing her to drift further and further away from the main body.
"No way, absolutely not!" The little spider clenched his tiny fists, a fierce, unyielding light flashing in his eyes. "I can't let her wicked plot succeed. I have to find a way to fix this. But then again... does the main body actually prefer Wakaba or Shiro?" He scratched his head, falling into a deep state of agonizing inner conflict...
Shirazawa slowly fluttered his eyes open. He found himself resting deep within a vast, pitch-black space.
"You're awake?"
A gentle, yet heavily teasing voice drifted straight into his ears, causing Shirazawa's instincts to instantly spike to absolute maximum alert.
"Wakaba?!"
This single, completely unanticipated na instantly shattered all of D's carefully constructed composure, plunging her into a long, profound silence.
"It's been... a long ti."
Shirazawa's mind spun at hyper-speed as he aggressively seized the initiative to break the silence. Internally, he gave himself a massive thumbs-up for his quick-witted improvisation.
"Heh. Now that is a na I haven't heard in a very long ti." D's lips curled into a shallow, graceful smile—a smile laced with a deeply complex, intriguing aning.
