...

Avril had originally thought her senior was undergoing harsh, solitary training in this remote Fishing Port, but she never expected...

...that he was keeping such an unbelievably beautiful girl.

In that instant, feelings of injustice, jealousy, and even a hint of panic surged through her, and she could barely keep her tears from falling.

Annabella, however, was an old hand at this.

With just a casual glance, she took in the reactions of the three girls behind her.

Sigh...

Annabella sighed softly to herself.

’Ophelia might feel so camaraderie and trust for that Lynch boy from fighting alongside him, but it’s far from the point of being deeply in love.’

’Lilith is even more of a little girl who hasn’t had her first crush. Her feelings for Lynch are mostly hero-worship, combined with seeing him as the one who saved her life.’

’The only one is Avril Grant. A young Priestess from a Holy Light noble family, pure-hearted yet a bit stubborn. Judging by her reaction, she’s truly fallen for him, and she’s in deep.’

’A young lady from a Holy Light noble house, falling for a Necromancer apprentice of commoner birth... Tsk, tsk, tsk. With what looks like a rather single-minded personality, she’s probably not going to let this go easily.’

’That boy Lynch is going to have his hands full~’

"Cough, cough."

Annabella gave a light cough, breaking the somber atmosphere.

She glanced at the green-haired girl again and said, "You brat, where did you find this rmaid? You’re more capable than I thought."

"A rmaid?!"

Ophelia’s and Lilith’s eyes went wide. They looked back and forth between Lynch and the green-haired girl, their expressions a mixture of disbelief and intense curiosity.

Avril also snapped her head up, her pale face a mask of astonishnt. She forcefully choked back the tears that had been about to fall.

’This... this unbelievably beautiful green-haired girl... is actually a rmaid?!’

"Hehe, you’ve got a sharp eye, ntor," Lynch admitted with a smile.

"Isn’t that obvious?" Annabella shot him an exasperated look. "Look at the fluctuations of her aura. She may be in human form, and her aura suppression is decent, but to a High Tier Extraordinary, her innate affinity for Water Elents and that ethereal quality of a sea elf are as obvious as a torch in the dark."

She paused before adding, "Of course, she could probably fool ordinary people or Low Tier professionals."

Lynch hadn’t planned on hiding it from his ntor anyway, so now that she’d pointed it out, he quickly explained what happened.

He explained how he’d encountered Tidal Fishn and goblins battling on the beach, how he’d discovered the besieged Naga and a rmaid, how he’d stepped in to "rescue" them, and finally, Sea Song · Xiyin’s identity and her current weakened state.

Of course, he embellished his own role, neglecting to ntion how he had used a mix of threats and promises to get the Naga to fight. He only said that they had joined his party for the sake of justice.

"So that’s what happened... I really missed a good show~" Ophelia’s eyes lit up as she listened, her expression eager. She wished she had been there to personally take part in rescuing the damsel.

Lilith’s mouth was slightly agape as she murmured, "A princess from the Deep Sea Royal Court? Hunted by rebels? This is just like a story sung by the bards..."

As for Avril, after her initial shock and astonishnt, she was left with incredibly complicated feelings.

So...

’Her senior wasn’t keeping a pretty girl, he’d rescued a rmaid princess in distress?’

The sour, uncomfortable feeling in her heart mostly dissipated, replaced by a flicker of sympathy for Sea Song · Xiyin’s plight.

By now, Ophelia and Lilith could no longer contain their curiosity. They crowded around the apprehensive Xiyin, looking her up and down while peppering her with questions.

"Can your tail really turn into legs? Does it hurt?"

"What’s the Deep Sea Royal Court like? Are there really castles made of glowing coral?"

"Can your singing really help people achieve a breakthrough? That’s so magical~"

Xiyin was flustered by their enthusiasm and could only answer in a small, quiet voice, keeping her replies as brief as possible. Her eyes kept darting toward Lynch, silently pleading for help.

Annabella remarked with a sigh, "I was wondering how you suddenly broke through to a full-fledged Mage, you brat. Turns out you just had so dumb luck and received a rmaid’s ’Blessing of the Sea.’"

Her brow furrowed, and her tone turned serious. "So, what’s your plan for her? Keep her? Or... find a suitable channel to sell her off? A living rmaid, especially one of royal blood, would fetch a price on the black market high enough to solve all your resource problems for a long, long ti."

The mont she heard the word "sell," Xiyin’s delicate fra trembled, and her face instantly turned deathly pale.

Her eyes, as blue as the sea, filled with terror. Brimming with tears, she looked beseechingly at Lynch, her lips quivering, not daring to beg for rcy aloud.

It was such a pitifully beautiful sight that no one could have looked upon it without feeling a pang of compassion.

Lynch himself hadn’t even had a chance to say anything yet.

But over on the side, Avril, who had just been feeling a hint of animosity toward Xiyin, was the first to speak out. "Sell her? Senior, that... that can’t be right, can it? She’s so pitiful, a princess in distress hunted by rebels..."

After a pause, she lifted her little face and looked at Lynch earnestly. "If you really need the money that badly, Senior, I... I can figure sothing out... I’ll buy her! I’ll take good care of her, I won’t let any harm co to her."

Her cheeks were slightly flushed as she spoke, and she seed a little flustered with excitent.
