Chapter 122: Are Vampires Immortal…?
‘Let’s see what else changed…’
Lucian thought inwardly as he continued walking beside Kanna through the long corridor
His eyes once again shifted toward the floating ssages.
[Congratulations…!]
[You have maximised all your stats for your current rank.]
[Your rank has been raised from E rank ➝ D rank.]
Lucian’s eyebrows subtly raised.
He genuinely hadn’t expected his stats to be maximised so soon.
‘Is it because I turned into a vampire…?’ That was the only possibility that ca to mind.
He pondered quietly for a second while continuing forward.
His boots echoed softly through the dim hallway while Kanna, the emotionless maid silently walked beside him like a shadow.
More ssages popped up one after another
[Your skill Advanced Analysis has evolved to Deep Analysis.]
[Deep Analysis]
– Reveals the complete status window of the target.
– Can be used to detect items as well.
– The skill can reveal hidden information.
[Note: The amount of information that can be viewed depends on the difference in the ntal strength between the host and the target.]
[Note: Affections can be viewed of the target.]
Lucian blinked as he read through the entire skill description.
Maybe the skill hadn’t changed too much from before—
But…
What did it an by affection?
And affection toward whom?
Him?
Then why?
Before he could properly ponder over it, another blue screen flickered before his vision.
[You have obtained the skill Tracking.]
[Tracking]
– Allows the user to track down a target as long as they rember the target’s face and na.
– The user gains a faint sense of the target’s direction and approximate distance.
– The tracking effect becos weaker if the target conceals their aura, changes appearance, or enters a hidden domain.
– This skill can only affect beings of the sa rank as the user or lower.
[Note: Physical touch with the target is needed at least once to start the tracking.]
Lucian read through the skill that he’d gotten for his rank-up.
But unlike when he had gotten the Unique Skill Inventory after increasing his rank to E rank, he didn’t feel the sa overwhelming happiness this ti.
Compared to Inventory… this Tracking skill paled by a large margin.
It looked like a normal, diocre skill.
Still—
‘It’s useful if used properly.’
He couldn’t dismiss the skill as useless.
In fact, the more he thought about it, this skill was almost a cheat, especially with the combination of his analysis skill.
His current situation was almost like having the ability to see others’ nas while being able to track them with just that and a few simple requirents.
The only difference was that this skill couldn’t kill people instantly by writing their nas in a book… otherwise, he would’ve truly felt like a Shinigami.
‘But Analysis…’
Thinking about it, he called out his status window with a ntal command.
Instantly, a large translucent screen materialised before him.
But unlike before, its appearance seed sowhat altered.
Thin golden engravings elegantly stretched across the blue surface.
The edges glimred faintly as thin veins of gold moved over the screen itself, as though being woven into it.
Lucian’s eyes narrowed before he shifted his attention toward his status, which had drastically changed.

Lucian blankly stared at the screen for a long mont.
A quiet breath escaped his lips.
‘Wow… just wow.’
After reading through his status window, Lucian had many questions in his head.
Far too many.
So many things had changed—no, maybe everything had changed completely.
His talent that had been an average B rank… had risen all the way to SSS rank—the highest rank he knew of.
His race displayed vampire with those annoying question marks beside it.
His bloodline had been split into Main and Sub categories—and he didn’t even know if having more than one bloodline was normal or not.
His stats had surpassed his previous ones by a huge margin.
But for the mont, he just thought about the new trait section before opening it with a ntal command.

There were still a few more traits listed below, making his brows gradually tighten in confusion.
But for now, he only focused on the starting traits he saw, reading through their descriptions.
[Traits are like skills, but the difference is that traits are innate and function more like passive abilities.] Akasha’s words echoed in his head, already answering the question was coming to his mind.
‘That part wasn’t so difficult to grasp…’ he thought inwardly.
Just looking at their descriptions was enough to know the difference.
But—
“Blood and… immortality…”
He couldn’t help but mutter faintly as he looked at first three traits of his, before gradually shifting his gaze away form the floating screen—
Turning his head toward Kanna, who was occasionally glancing in his direction.
Ignoring the weird gaze she was giving him, Lucian spoke to her directly.
“Kanna… are vampires immortal?”
Hearing his sudden question, her expression paused mid-step, and after a mont of thought, she subtly shook her head.
“Vampires aren’t truly immortal, but they do not age as humans do…”
She continued walking, her black hair swaying faintly behind her.
“Immortality ans you cannot kill them in anyway, which isn’t true with vampires.”
Seeing his understanding nod, she continued.
“However… you can say they will not die of old age.”
Her gaze lingered on his face for a long ti, staring into his eyes, sothing Lucian noticed instantly.
“Is there sothing on my face?” he asked with a faint frown forming in his brows.
He lightly touched his face, checking to see if sothing was wrong.
Lucian knew that his face and skin had been burned after being inside the Worm’s stomach, but all those injuries had already been completely healed.
He didn’t need anyone to tell him it was because he had turned into a vampire, a race known for its unnatural regeneration—especially after seeing the trait [Regeneration Core].
Kanna didn’t answer imdiately.
Instead, she stopped walking and fully turned toward him.
“Young Master, you haven’t noticed yet?”
Before Lucian could respond, the shadow beneath her feet darkened, and a tendril slowly rose upward as if it had a will of its own. Within its grip was a circular mirror.
Grasping it, she raised the object and turned it toward Lucian, who was slightly surprised by the sudden ergence of the dark tendrils.
His gaze briefly lowered to the shadow that returned to her feet and faded away, before he finally looked at his reflection in the mirror.
His expression stilled as he noticed his pale white skin—once slightly tanned from years of training—had been replaced by a porcelain-like whiteness untouched by ti itself.
The structure of his face had sharpened, carrying a presence that didn’t quite belong to sothing human anymore.
And then there were his eyes.
Lucian’s fingers slowly lifted and pressed against his own cheek as if confirming the reflection wasn’t an illusion..
Blood-red irises stared back at him from the mirror, deep and dense—like two still pools of blood reflecting against the glass.
“…So I really turned into a vampire.”
Slowly, a small smile crept onto his face.
He couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of familiarity with his current appearance.
“Young master—”
The words stuck in her throat the mont Lucian turned his head toward her, his crimson eyes glowing under the dim light of the corridor.
The air around him felt slightly different now, as if sothing had shifted the mont he acknowledged himself.
Seeing the maid frozen, Lucian frowned faintly.
Without hesitation, he raised his hand and lightly tapped her forehead with his index finger.
“What, Did we reach your Duchess yet?”
Kanna blinked once, then took a small step back before she turned and began walking again.
“…We are close.”
Lucian following beside her.
After a mont of silence, he spoke again.
“Who exactly is this Duchess? Is she like a minister or sothing like that?” he asked casually.
“Young Master Lucian, please don’t compare the Duchess to such worms.”
Her expression didn’t change, but her voice now held a dangerous edge.
“She is the strongest vampire in the world,” Kanna continued calmly.
“Aside from the Vampire Queen.”
There was an unusual weight behind those words.
“So,” she added, her tone turning sowhat cold.
“Do not disrespect her in any way… that is, if you do not wish to die a grueso death.”
After hearing those words from her mouth—words that sounded more like a threat—
“Heh.”
A faint chuckle escaped his lips, followed by an amused smile creeping into his face.
Kanna’s eyes narrowed faintly at his unexpected reaction.
“…Then let’s go et this Duchess of yours.”
Lucian’s crimson eyes glowed intensely under the dim corridor light, and his smile widened further.
Here is the extra chapter.
