"Cut the nonsense."
Qin Muni placed the diced dough on the baking tray, then walked past Xu Yisen to the oven. She opened it, placed the tray inside, set the ti and temperature, then turned back to the counter.
She tidied the counter, then turned to Xu Yisen and asked, "Xu Yisen, feeling interested? Shall I play a violin solo for you?"
"To hear my dear wife play the violin personally is the greatest honor."
Qin Muni lightly flicked his forehead with her finger and laughed, "You’re just a chatterbox. Go wait for in the living room, I’ll get the violin from the music room."
"Alright."
Qin Muni left the kitchen first and went to the music room upstairs to retrieve the violin Xu Yisen had gifted her on her birthday last year.
When she ca downstairs, Xu Yisen was already seated on the sofa waiting for her.
"I haven’t practiced lately. I might be a bit rusty. Remind if I hit a wrong note."
Xu Yisen nodded, "Alright."
Qin Muni stood in front of the coffee table, held the violin between her shoulder and chin, raised the bow with elegance, and produced a beautiful lody on the violin.
The crystal lights on the ceiling spilled onto Qin Muni, surrounding her with an aura of elegance and nobility, like a crescent moon hanging in the night sky. She could be admired from afar but not desecrated.
Her charming rose-tinted eyes held a smile, and her clear pupils captivated like stars in the galaxy; the slight curve of her red lips was as enchanting as the rose blossoms of spring.
Xu Yisen found himself unable to take his eyes off her, srized by Qin Muni standing in front of him, playing intently.
He still rembered, many years ago, when she was just a high school girl, she looked at him with abandon and seriously declared, "One day, I’ll be good enough to perform alongside you."
It seed at the ti to be another of Qin Muni’s jokes, yet she sincerely learned and practiced the violin until one day she surprised everyone with her performance, finally able to stand and play by his side.
He recalled their first performance together at their wedding. Qin Muni wore an exquisite bridal gown, playing as gracefully as she did now, earning the applause of all the relatives and friends who attended.
After the wedding, best man Liang Ziyuan teased him, "Munni played that piece beautifully. To have married such a wonderful woman, consider yourself lucky."
Reflecting on past events, Xu Yisen felt deeply grateful for having a wonderful woman like Qin Muni walk into his life.
She was like a flower, brightening and enlivening his world.
When the song ended, Qin Muni lowered the violin and saw Xu Yisen with an absent-minded expression, obviously lost in thought.
"Mr. Xu."
Her call brought Xu Yisen back to his senses, and he hastily applauded, "That was beautiful!"
"Oh, co on, look at you being so absent-minded."
"It’s just that your performance was so moving, it felt like I was there, lingering in the mont."
His excuse for zoning out made Qin Muni chuckle. She placed the violin back in its case.
Seeing this, Xu Yisen raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, "Not playing anymore?"
"No more for now. We’ll duet another day."
"Sounds good. At the wedding, let’s perform a duet just like last ti."
