Over the past three years, despite multiple dical examinations, Munni and Yisen’s results were always the sa: both of their indicators were normal, their physical health was good, yet they just couldn’t conceive.
In her quest to conceive, Munni even listened to the advice of the older generation and superstitiously went to the temple to pray for a child.
However, three years had passed with no sign of a child, and she truly lived up to the title of a ’hen that won’t lay eggs’.
The Xu Family, although hoping deep down that Munni would conceive soon, never put any pressure on her and even comforted her when they discovered she felt guilty for not being able to conceive.
Munni appeared indifferent on the outside, but she was still sowhat anxious and worried inside.
"I just saw Munni. Isn’t she usually inseparable from Chairman Xu? Why is it that Chairman Xu isn’t with her today?"
While in the restroom, Munni heard footsteps, followed by a stranger’s voice. Coincidentally, the gossip involved her.
"Chairman Xu has gone to France to et his lover," another female voice chid in, with a tone of schadenfreude that Munni recognized as belonging to Wang Jiayue, a forr rival of Shao Chuyan’s at the fashion magazine company.
"What? How is that possible? Aren’t they deeply in love? How could Chairman Xu have a lover?"
With a disdainful tone, Wang Jiayue replied, "Love is just a façade. After all, she’s just a hen that won’t lay eggs. What else can she be other than decoration?"
"You say Munni and Yisen have been married for three years without any news."
"What else could it be, probably so issue?"
"Then who do you think Chairman Xu’s lover is?"
Wang Jiayue lowered her voice slightly, "I heard it’s Sun Ruru from Van Shuo Entertainnt Company. Reporters took pictures of them having a private dinner in France and posted the news online. But within five minutes, it was suddenly deleted, completely wiped from the internet without a trace."
There was a few seconds of silence outside, followed by the continuation of their conversation: "Could it be that Chairman Xu is guilty and afraid Munni would find out about his affair, so he had it deleted?"
"Of course, what other reason could there be? This information was told to by a friend working in my news agency, so it’s definitely true."
After listening to the gossip for a while, Munni finally pushed open the door of the stall, a proud smile playing on her red lips as she gracefully walked to the sink.
The two won standing by the sink chatting while fixing their makeup simultaneously turned to one side at the sound of footsteps. Upon seeing the hint of a smile on Munni’s face, both of them froze.
Clearly, Wang Jiayi hadn’t expected to find Munni in the restroom. She blurted out what she was thinking, "You... you... how are you here?"
With her eyelids slightly downcast, Munni washed her hands gracefully and replied calmly, "Just using the restroom, though I didn’t expect to hear such explosive gossip."
"I... I..."
Gossiping behind soone’s back is wrong to begin with, and it was such bad luck that Munni overheard her talking about her, causing a trace of guilt to show on Wang Jiayi’s face.
After washing her hands, Munni pulled out several paper towels to dry them, then looked up with a subtle, teasing smile in the mirror at the embarrassed faces of Wang Jiayi and her friend.
"Yisen and I don’t need you to worry about us."
Munni’s voice was gentle and charming, yet, for so reason, the two won felt an undeniable pressure.
