With a glance at the two people looking embarrassed, Munni’s red lips curled into a subtle sneer, then she no longer paid attention to them and turned to leave the washroom.
Over the years, quite a few people have been gossiping behind Munni’s back. Hearing it firsthand now left her sowhat dissatisfied. Just because she did not confront them didn’t an she was indifferent.
After leaving the washroom, she returned to the banquet hall and spotted the person she was looking for with one sweep of her gaze.
She curled her red lips slightly, picked up a glass of champagne from the tray of a waiter, and gracefully walked towards that figure.
"President Xiang, it’s been a while. How have you been lately?"
The man heard soone calling his na, turned his head, and saw Munni already standing beside him.
He imdiately smiled and said to Munni, "Munni, it’s been a while. Why didn’t Yisen co with you today?"
President Xiang is the president of the company that owns the fashion magazine where Shao Chuyan works. Approaching fifty, he maintains himself well without signs of middle-aged spread or balding.
He exudes a calm and composed deanor honed over years of experience, and his smile never seems too enthusiastic or too distant, always just right.
Munni got acquainted with this man through Shao Chuyan, and because Fan Shuo has an entertainnt company under its wing, they have business dealings. Hence, he’s also quite familiar with Xu Yisen.
"Yisen is on a business trip abroad."
"I see, do send my regards to him when he returns."
"Of course." Munni nodded.
President Xiang naturally noticed Munni’s initiative to find him, suspecting she had sothing to discuss, but he didn’t rush to ask Munni. They exchanged a few pleasantries.
Then Munni spoke, "By the way, I heard Wang Jiayue discussing a piece of gossip in the washroom that I’ve never heard of. I wonder if the rumor is true?"
Munni didn’t specifically say what the gossip was; she didn’t need to. President Xiang is a smart man.
He naturally surmised that Wang Jiayue was speaking carelessly about Yisen’s personal matters in the washroom, coincidentally overheard by Munni.
President Xiang secretly cursed Wang Jiayue as foolish in his heart. As a dia person, it’s reckless to discuss others in public and even more foolish to let the involved person hear it.
Now understanding Munni’s purpose in seeking him out, President Xiang knew Wang Jiayue was one of his employees, and Munni was coming to demand an explanation.
President Xiang slightly restrained his smile, showing a hint of seriousness, "Although I’m not sure what she was discussing, I haven’t heard any such rumor, so it’s probably not true. Munni, don’t take it to heart."
Munni nodded, then playfully winked at him, "I thought this rumor would be tomorrow’s headline. Turns out it’s not true, thank you for letting know, President Xiang."
"Of course, if Wang Jiayue said anything unpleasant, please don’t take it to heart."
By twice urging Munni not to take it to heart, President Xiang subtly reassured her that he would handle the matter.
Seeing her goal achieved, Munni naturally didn’t want to disturb President Xiang any further, "Alright then, I’ll leave you be, please send my regards to your wife."
"I will."
After Munni walked away, she found Shao Chuyan and Zhang Luxin, and the three of them had a brief chat.
