"Here’s what I’ll do: I’ll have the driver circle around a few tis, head to the busiest part of the city, and switch to another car before coming over. But this might take a few hours. Don’t wait for ; go ahead and have dinner first. I’ll co over after I shake off the reporters."
"That’s not necessary." Mainly because the weather was so hot that it dulled her appetite. Being near the equator ant it was practically sumr all year round. Even though it was technically winter, the sun still hadn’t set by 7 p.m. It was rare for Xia Siyu, a foodie, to feel like this. Besides, eating just tasted better when you had company.
"Then you head back and rest first. I’ll find you when I arrive."
Bo Yan had ticulously calculated the timing: it would take 40 to 50 minutes from the airport to the city center, and another 40 to 50 minutes from the city center to the beach. Since it was rush hour, heading to the city center could take forever. A round trip would take at least three hours.
Xia Siyu was shooting an ad at a private beach belonging to a five-star hotel. The work site was only a ten-minute walk from the rest area. After chatting with Bo Yan, Wei Jingjing ca over, a tad late, and her expression carried a hint of hesitation. Still, she said, "Do you want to try a Thai massage or sothing later? They’ve got so pretty authentic ones here."
To be fair, Xia Siyu had been practicing dance every day lately, and she was utterly exhausted. Since she’d have to wait for Bo Yan for quite a while, taking a mont to relax didn’t sound like a bad idea.
What was odd, though, was that Wei Jingjing normally never brought up this kind of activity to her. Usually, it was Xia Siyu herself who would seek these things out. So why was she ntioning it now?
"It’s rare for you to bring up trying these things."
Wei Jingjing paused for a mont, then finally said, "It’s just... seeing how hard you’ve been working lately, putting so much effort into your job."
Xia Siyu instinctively retorted, "And when have I ever not worked hard? When have I ever been lazy in my job?"
Still, she didn’t object to the idea of a massage. When she got back to the hotel, she took a shower first—after all, she’d been rolling around on the beach earlier, and her whole body was covered with sand. Plus, she had sunscreen on and needed to remove her makeup.
Once she was done freshening up, she lay down on the bed and did a quick search. Sure enough, guests had left positive reviews about the Thai massages at this hotel. Xia Siyu was tempted. With Bo Yan not arriving for another two hours or so, a massage lasting just over an hour sounded perfect.
Just as she was about to call to make a reservation, the doorbell rang. It was Wei Jingjing: "Siyu, have you booked your massage yet?"
This ti, Xia Siyu was genuinely surprised. "Why are you so into this all of a sudden?"
There’s always sothing fishy when things seem off! While she didn’t think Wei Jingjing had any bad intentions, it still felt a little strange.
Being called out, Wei Jingjing hesitated awkwardly. "Well... um, it’s . I—I kind of want to go too. You know, my shoulders have been feeling a bit stiff lately."
"Oh, you want to go too? You could’ve just said so earlier." Xia Siyu wasn’t the type of stingy celebrity who kept things to herself—if sothing was nice, she was more than happy to share it with others. She had actually intended to treat Wei Jingjing and LaXiaotangittle Tang to a massage for so relaxation, anyway.
As she was about to call and book, Wei Jingjing stopped her imdiately. "No need!"
Turning her head, Xia Siyu asked, and Wei Jingjing quickly added, "I already made the reservation. The best female therapist, in the safest room."
Well, that did make sense. Being a female celebrity, if she encountered secret filming or so other security breach, it would be a nightmare.
And so, the group headed to the hotel rooms, each person getting their own private space. But as soon as Xia Siyu entered her room, she couldn’t shake the feeling that sothing about the atmosphere was a little off.
