Bo Yan’s hand, which had just reached into the basket to retrieve sothing, suddenly froze. Although he knew that when Xia Siyu said this, the double portion of snacks would probably still end up in her mouth, he pulled back his hand and placed the snacks back. Instead, he picked out two other snacks with lower calories for her from a nearby shelf. “Have this. These have fewer calories.”
Xia Siyu was easy to please—as long as she had sothing to eat, she was happy. She nodded with a grin, holding a toy in one hand and reaching out to hold his hand with the other. As soon as her hand nestled in his palm, even though she was wearing gloves, he could almost feel the softness of her palm.
After picking out snacks and toys, Xia Siyu finally settled down. Next, they went to buy groceries. Bo Yan picked out at and vegetables, and also grabbed a bag of flour. Thankfully, technology had advanced rapidly, so there was no need to wait in long lines to pay. Bo Yan simply used an app to scan and pay, swiftly leading Xia Siyu out of the supermarket.
Exiting through the door, their groceries were still in the shopping cart. The supermarket parking lot was already full, so their car was parked a short distance away. While waiting for the car, Xia Siyu suddenly looked up. “It’s snowing.”
Indeed, pure white snowflakes were dancing down from the sky, so mischievously landing on her glasses. As she exhaled, the snowflakes lted, forming droplets of water that clung to the lenses.
Xia Siyu tried to blow the droplets away, forgetting that she was wearing a mask. Her warm breath only fogged up the glasses even more, leaving her vision blurred and uncertain.
Frustrated, she quickly directed Bo Yan, “Hurry up and take my glasses off!”
Bo Yan chuckled and leaned in, wiping her glasses for her. With each stroke, his face behind the lenses beca clearer. Coupled with the snowy backdrop and the twinkling neon lights, the scene was as breathtaking as a dream.
Xia Siyu’s face suddenly turned red. Whether it was from the cold or from seeing his increasingly defined features, she wasn’t sure. After wiping her glasses clean, Bo Yan’s fingers retreated, but his gaze remained fixed on her, unwavering.
Xia Siyu felt as though she was overdressed—her face seed to burn. This guy had a shaless streak and was good at playing instrunts, singing, and entertaining—all without breaking a sweat. It was rare for her to feel so flustered and embarrassed. But at this mont, under his intense stare, she found herself lowering her gaze and avoiding his eyes, shifting her attention to the bull horns of the cow plushie she was holding. “Is there sothing dirty on my face?”
Bo Yan shook his head.
Xia Siyu nudged him with her toe. “Is my makeup smudged?”
Bo Yan shook his head again.
Xia Siyu thought to herself that even if her makeup was smudged or if there was dirt on her face, she’d still look good—she was confident about that. Then why was he staring at her so intently?
Though she had this thought, she didn’t have the courage to look up. Not until she heard Bo Yan’s deep voice call softly, “Siyu.”
It was only then that Xia Siyu slowly looked up. As she lifted her head, she found herself staring at Bo Yan’s increasingly close face.
In truth, the two had kissed countless tis before—there were even monts of greater intimacy. But on the bustling city street with neon lights flashing around them, they had never dared to be this close.
Suddenly, Xia Siyu felt nervous—so much so that her palms and even the tip of her nose broke out in a sweat.
Bo Yan leaned in quickly, but unexpectedly kissed her mask instead. Both of them froze for a mont.
But Bo Yan swiftly pulled down his own mask, then hers, before leaning in again.
