Now reading: Chapter 1614 - 1605: Power Outage (Part 2) from The Best Actor Insists On Living With Me!, a Comedy novel by Desolate Jasper.

It’s surprising that there can still be power outages these days. Bo Yan looked at Xia Siyu first, then out the window, which was also pitch-black outside.

Clearly, this wasn’t because the fuse in their house blew; it was a power outage affecting the entire area.

"Is there a power outage?"

"Seems like it."

Bo Yan looked up again and checked the cara. So caras have batteries, showing a red light even in the dark, indicating they are still running. But the one in front of them was obviously not in that category. The only thing still working was the microphone on them, which was rechargeable and currently fully charged.

Before they could ask, they already heard the voices of neighbors from next door: "Power’s out? Do you have electricity in your house?"

"No electricity here either, I was just brushing my teeth."

Soon, Xia Siyu received a call, and the director told her, "There’s a power outage now. Stay calm. This is an old neighborhood, and the current load is quite high. When there are too many people, it breaks down; we’ve already contacted the power company for an urgent repair."

Xia Siyu asked, "So, are we still recording today?"

The director thought for a mont. It’s already 9:30 PM, and it’s unclear how long it will take to restore power. So other crews have already turned off their caras to rest. It’s unfortunate that they couldn’t capture the ending scenes here, but there’s no solution.

"Let’s leave it for now. Wait a little..."

"Click," before the director could finish saying what to do next, Xia Siyu decisively hung up the phone. Who wants to keep filming? It’s ti to rest, after all.

Having been with her for a long ti, Bo Yan naturally understood Xia Siyu’s little thoughts. He intentionally added a concluding remark: "Since the power’s out, let’s rest early. Goodnight."

He turned off the microphone on himself first.

Then, with the help of his phone’s light, he turned off the mic on Xia Siyu.

Xia Siyu, seeing him turn off the mic, knew what he was thinking.

Coincidentally, she was thinking the sa, otherwise she wouldn’t have hung up on the director so quickly.

Xia Siyu, in a low voice, leaned close: "Why don’t I believe it?"

The sa words, in a different tone, coupled with the darkness after the power outage, evoked a strange sense of excitent. Especially when her fingers lightly traced his throat. The night was still hot, without the air conditioning, their bodies slightly perspired, hormones mixing with sweat perated the quiet room, resembling a fatal pheromone that inevitably quickened the heartbeat.

Bo Yan also chuckled lightly: "Do you want to prove it to you?"

"Prove what, looking at you for a lifeti? Isn’t a lifeti too long? What if I’m not satisfied and want to return the goods?" Last ti, after the rain, they had already communicated; Xia Siyu wouldn’t doubt his sincerity. Their conversation at that mont was more flirtation than serious vows.

Bo Yan leaned in, his voice even lower and richer: "Even if you want to return the goods, you have to try it first, right? What if you’re very satisfied?"

Xia Siyu said, "If I’m very satisfied, then I’ll have to give a five-star review and get an annual mbership. I’d beco a long-term custor."

"Alright then, dear custor, Technician No.1 is at your service." Bo Yan reached out, hooked her, and pulled her into his arms.

Xia Siyu rolled into his arms but didn’t imdiately get closer. Instead, she pointed upwards.

Bo Yan understood and leaned his face against hers, "Wait for a mont."

He got up and unplugged the power from the cara in the living room.

Although the power was out now, who knew when it might co back? If it ca back in the middle of what they were doing, it wouldn’t just be a matter of broadcasting inappropriate content; it would an a social death. He and Xia Siyu wouldn’t be able to mingle anymore.

But likewise, the thrill of developing sothing in such an environnt, surrounded by caras and attention, was undeniable.

He had already looked around when he entered earlier. There were caras in all four corners of the living room, and the hallway and balcony too. They couldn’t go to their rooms, because if he went to Xia Siyu’s room, when he ca out, even if the caras inside the room were covered, the outside ones would still catch him.

Being seen coming out of Xia Siyu’s room would be solid evidence. It was better to stay in the living room, in such a place, and turn off the caras.

Sotis human nature is like this: if you’re in a private setting, even if you’re just chatting under the covers, people might assu sothing’s up between you. But if you’re in a public space, and a bit more open, even if there’s intimacy, it won’t necessarily invite speculation.

Apart from caras, there were other recording microphones as well. Once everything was set, he turned back but hesitated, "What if..."

"Are you afraid?"

In a single sentence, Xia Siyu sparked sothing in Bo Yan; his voice deepened, "If I were afraid, would I have unplugged the power?"

"Then what are you afraid of?" Her little toe trailed up his leg, finally resting against his chest.

"If you’re scared, I’ll go back to rest." She flipped around, preparing to get off the sofa but was caught by Bo Yan at the ankle.

Bo Yan’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he held her ankle firmly, then slowly leaned towards her, "You just ntioned that the scene from two years ago wasn’t perford well; do you know what part wasn’t?"

Xia Siyu instantly grasped the aning. During a four-minute continuous take of a boat scene, Wang Ju had shot it for four or five hours. Their makeup was sared from kissing, lipstick almost consud, bodies tangled many tis and only barely passed in the end.

At the ti, they weren’t very familiar. Although they’d had a past, it was a long ti ago, with a hint of unfamiliarity. Later, Bo Yan suggested "let go and act," which ant he had enjoyed himself; if not, both the director and Xia Siyu would understand his intention and demand a proper performance for a pass.

In retrospect, the performance seed decent, but now looking back, though there was enough tension between the genders, their unfamiliarity resulted in movents and details that weren’t entirely seamless.

Xia Siyu understood, but she pretended not to. Her toes that had rested against Bo Yan’s chest were guided by him as he held her ankle. She gently tapped his chest with her toe, then slid down, down, lightly touching him again: "Mr. Bo, I’m not sure I understand. How about you give a personal lesson?"
