While kindness is good, she also didn’t want to give it away without prudence. As the saying goes, “a peck of rice in charity, an ounce of rice in grudge”. Giving too much might not always lead to positive outcos.
But when she saw those who truly needed help, her heart would still ache.
“Even though we seem to have many fans, we are actually quite insignificant, with few ways to help them. In fact, that person earlier doesn’t need us to give more money; she earns her living through her own labor. Giving her more money would only insult her.”
Xia Siyu had thought of that too; she nodded and took another bite of sweet potato. The sweet potato was soft and delicious, but for so reason, it no longer tasted as good in her mouth.

Nowadays, even making donations isn’t easy. Going to the Red Cross, a more official organization, seems like an option, but their reputation has taken a hit due to a past incident. Donating to charities set up by other celebrities feels even less reliable. You just don’t know if every cent you donate actually ends up helping soone.
“Do you really want to donate?”
Xia Siyu nodded: “I do. I just don’t know how to go about it.”
Bo Yan thought for a mont: “I’ve actually considered this matter and have already started preparing with Han Yifan. We’ve opened a film production company and will donate a portion of the inco.”
Xia Siyu instantly beca excited: “Really?”

Abroad, many wealthy people set up their own foundations under the guise of “charity”, but in reality, they channel their taxable inco into these foundations, claiming they’ll use it to help society in a “charitable” way, mostly to write off taxes. How much of the money that goes into these foundations is actually spent… only heaven knows.
