Selena Robertson thought for a mont. "Why don’t we go to the attic? Nobody usually goes there," she suggested.
"Hmm, okay. Let’s take advantage of Adrian Desmond’s absence and go there now."
Selena looked at Sienna Johnson, her expression hesitant. Sienna glanced at her, instantly knowing what the other woman was thinking. "I know lanie Carpenter committed suicide, and Adrian went to find her," Sienna stated. "Don’t look at with that sympathetic gaze..."
Selena said nothing.
"If Lucas wasn’t injured now, it would actually be a good ti to escape."
Previously, Selena might have tried to persuade Sienna on Adrian’s behalf, but not anymore. Look at this woman, she thought. She’s so open-minded; she doesn’t care at all.
Sienna went to the dressing room and took a casual outfit belonging to Adrian for Lucas Robertson to wear. Adrian is tall, so the clothes were a bit too big for Lucas. They rolled them up a bit to make them fit.
Sienna and Kiki initially wanted to help him, but Lucas waved his hand. "No need, I can walk by myself," he said.
Kiki went outside first to scout the way. Because of Miss Carpenter’s suicide, when Adrian left, he seed to have taken quite a few people with him. The corridor was much emptier. Sienna and Lucas then ca out and went straight to the attic upstairs.
"Be careful."
The three of them went up to the attic, which was quite spacious and filled with clutter. Kiki brought a quilt and laid it on the floor. For the ti being, this would be Lucas’s bed.
"You can rest here for now, and I’ll have Kiki bring you food."
"Thank you."
"If you really want to thank , heal your wounds quickly and get out of here... I don’t want to stay in this place for even a mont longer." Sienna touched her stomach, where a new life was growing vigorously.
"You want to go to Raelnia. First, we need to go to Starisle, then from Starisle to Gersia by boat, and finally enter Raelnia through Ardmond." Lucas’s face was pale from excessive blood loss. Kiki brought him so food.
Lucas was hungry and ate in big mouthfuls. Sienna hesitated, wondering whether or not to tell him about her situation.
"Mai, let’s go back. It’ll be bad if soone finds out," Kiki urged.
"I want to take Kiki with ."
Lucas looked up at Selena Robertson. Selena, being timid, flinched back from Lucas’s cold gaze and hid behind Sienna.
"Alright!" Lucas could manage to take one extra person.
"And another thing, do you know how powerful Adrian is? If I go back to Orienta, what are the odds of him finding ?"
Lucas took a sip of milk, finding her question sowhat amusing. "He’s your man, don’t you understand him at all?"
"Aside from our physical intimacy, we don’t really know each other. For example, my na isn’t Mai, and I’m not Raelnian." Sienna felt it was better to reveal her true situation at this ti.
"Mai, if you’re not Mai, then who are you?" Kiki asked naively.
"My na is Sienna Johnson, and I’m from Orienta!"
Selena Robertson stared in shock at the woman before her. "Sienna... Sienna..."
"Sienna Johnson!" For the first ti in a long while, Sienna spoke her own na. "Sienna Johnson," she said. "That’s my na."
"But you said your na was Mai."
"Should I have told Adrian my real na? So that if I escaped one day, he could track down to my hotown?"
"Did you plan to escape from the very beginning?"
"Yes!"
At first, Sienna had thought Adrian was a gang leader, perhaps a pirate. How could she stay with such a dangerous person? He might get killed at so point, and she would beco a widow.
As it turned out, her foresight was correct.
"Adrian is truly pitiful," Lucas mocked.
"What’s pitiful about him?" Sienna felt no sympathy for Adrian whatsoever.
When they were on good terms, Sienna had considered telling Adrian the truth about herself. She had even wanted to build a life with him, but Adrian was the one who had let her down.
If he was going to be heartless, then she would be the one to walk away!
She, Sienna Johnson, was not like lanie Carpenter—a woman who couldn’t live without a man.
Selena looked at Sienna with a strange expression. Sienna t her gaze and smiled. "Kiki, what’s wrong?"
"You even lied to ?" Kiki was heartbroken.
Sienna patted her head as if she were petting a small dog. "I didn’t intentionally lie to you. It’s just that you’re timid and, well, a bit naive. I was afraid that if I told you, you might accidentally let it slip."
"So, I’m just useless then," Kiki mumbled, still hurt.
"You are useful. You have a very important role to play."
Sienna actually wanted to discuss the escape route further with Lucas, but seeing his tired state, she temporarily suppressed her impatience.
She had already waited this long; a little longer wouldn’t make much difference now.
Sienna ate breakfast alone. Adrian had gone to Aurinnois to see Miss Carpenter, who had attempted suicide, and hadn’t returned.
Breakfast was sumptuous: whole wheat bread, ham, chocolate spread, fried eggs, and a bowl of seafood porridge. Today, Sienna had deliberately asked the kitchen to prepare extra food so she could send a portion to Lucas in the attic.
Sienna wasn’t secretive about it; she simply said she was keeping a black cat in the attic and the food was for it.
The Desmond Family’s security was tight, and even the Housekeeper, Mr. Lucas, never imagined Sienna would hide a man in the attic.
"Did you deliver it?" Sienna asked when Kiki returned.
Kiki whispered, "Yes."
When Adrian was away, Sienna always had her als with Kiki.
"After we eat, let’s go shopping," Sienna said. She needed to make preparations as well.
"Okay."
After breakfast, Sienna pointed to the brown Hers bag on the bed and told Kiki to bring it.
"Mai, isn’t this bag too big for shopping?"
The bag was filled with luxury items Adrian had given her—globally limited editions. Only a few of each existed, and all buyers were registered. Sienna had to admit, Adrian was certainly generous when it ca to spending on his mistresses.
"These are all luxury items Adrian gave ," Sienna explained. "I’ll find soone to ship them to different parts of the world. After we escape, I’ll have them sold off gradually."
"Why?"
"Adrian knows these things are mine. When he sees that these items are missing from the room, he’ll think I’ve fallen on hard tis and have to pawn things to survive. He’ll definitely follow this clue to search for ... However," Sienna gave a wicked smile, "he’s destined for disappointnt..."
Kiki was silent.
"By then, Adrian will be incredibly busy," Sienna thought.
Let him search the globe for her and their precious son. Of course, to further confuse Adrian, Sienna would also arrange for one item to be sold in Orienta. That would be the last one, though, when Adrian was utterly exhausted.
By then, Adrian probably wouldn’t even want to continue the search.
"Sigh..." Selena thought. Adrian really is pitiful, ending up with such a cunning and scheming woman like Sienna.
"Let’s go."
