Chapter 772: Boundless Ocean
If people were subjected to this long enough, their minds would certainly break. Death seemed like an ideal option pared to this.
Thankfully, their suffering didn’t last long.
About three seconds later, all the noise disappeared, and there was only silence in Tan Jian’s head.
President Tan was on his knees, panting, sweat beading on his forehead.

Before they could even get their bearings, Yao Tang unsheathed her dagger and pounced on Elder Nie’s men, slicing and cutting anything in her path.

In the blink of an eye, she had managed to dispose of about a third of the assailants. The unfortunate ones now lay on the ground with their fallen rades, cold and lifeless.
Elder Nie was overe with worry and despair. He wanted to kill Yao Tang then, more than ever.

And yet, they all fell like rag dolls in a young girl’s hands.
His face twisted into a terrible expression as he tried to stifle the unease in his heart.
If this slaughter continued, his losses would be greater than he had initially imagined. Hell, he might just lose everyone he had brought with him.
But that wasn’t what worried him the most.
If Yao Tang escaped his clutches now, it would undoubtedly spell more trouble for him in the future.
With that in mind, he barked out another order. “Kill them! Kill them all! Don’t let them leave this place alive!”
Yao Tang already knew the best-kept secret of the Green Cloud Pavilion.
If she told anyone about this, not only would it impede their organization’s stealthy ways, but it would also expose them to many dangers.
And Elder Nie’s plans, everything he had worked for all these years, would be ruined.
After hearing their leader’s mand, the henchmen attacked with renewed ferocity.
Now that they didn’t need to spare their targets’ lives, they had no reason to hold back.
But when Elder Nie looked closely, his frown only deepened. How e those three seemed to be fine?
Were they immune to his men’s spiritual attacks?

She had done this to his men! She had countered their spiritual attacks with her own.
Why else would they have lost so much spiritual energy?
Even as the thought occurred to him, he couldn’t quite bring himself to believe it. Yao Tang was actually able to utilize both her cultivation and her physical strength at the same time.
What was more, he had the upper hand despite the sheer number of her enemies.
Elder Nie’s heart picked up its pace.
He only knew of one other person who was capable of such a feat.
As soon as he thought of them, his scalp tingled, and goosebumps appeared on his skin. His eyes glazed over in a mix of terror and disbelief.
He was frightened.
Utterly frightened.
His face darkening, Elder Nie roared at his men like a madman. “Show them no mercy! Leave no one alive. I want them all to die here, especially that girl!”
He had the keen sense that if he let Yao Tang go now, it would turn out to be the biggest mistake of his life.
“Yes, Grand Elder!”
His subordinates boomed in unison before they jumped back into action.
Elder Nie posed himself and held his breath. He harnessed his spiritual power and prepared to join the battle.
He was confident that he could subdue Yao Tang with his strengths.
At the very least, he was certain that she wouldn’t be able to win against him.
After all, he had decades’ worth of cultivation under his belt. How could a mere teenage girl pare to him?
He launched his attack, only to be stunned yet again in the next second.
There was no impact.
The blow he had discharged seemed to have disappeared into thin air.
He didn’t even feel it crossing any boundary.
It was like the enemy’s force field was a boundless ocean, and it swallowed his attack into its depths without making a single splash.
It was as good as he had never attacked at all.
