Isaac Ross at this point had no more prejudice against Sumr Monroe. He nodded imdiately and said, "I’ll go expedite it myself now. Even if it’s expedited, it’ll take a day, but if I go personally, we should have the results by tomorrow morning."
"Thank you."
"It’s nothing. You’ve helped us a lot," Isaac said, then looked at the man in the hospital bed and asked, "How long before his IV can be removed?"
Ryder Quinn curled his lip. Isaac really does talk about everything.
Who was it just now that ordered him to remove the IV imdiately?
Sumr Monroe glanced at the man and said, "If he’s already conscious and you don’t need to completely cure him, you can remove it now. I’ll go..."
"You stay here!" Damian Knight pressed her shoulder, "I’ll do it."
Ryder Quinn gave Damian Knight a suspicious look as he pressed down on Sumr Monroe’s shoulder, feeling a bit jealous inside.
He wanted to say sothing but rembered he too, like Isaac earlier, didn’t trust Sumr Monroe. Instantly, he lost all confidence and silently stepped aside.
Right at that mont, Julian Kingston entered with a few bodyguards, imdiately asking, "I heard the person has been treated?"
The next second, Julian Kingston saw Sumr Monroe lying on the hospital bed and the ss everywhere.
He glared at Isaac Ross, "What the hell are you up to?!"
"I..." Isaac awkwardly rubbed his nose.
It was Damian Knight, having finished removing the IV, who spoke up, "Sumr Monroe needs rest, so all of you should leave."
Julian Kingston looked tense, "What’s really going on here?"
"Nothing, nothing. If you keep asking, Isaac won’t be able to show his face anymore. Let’s go, let’s move the person. That guy’s mind is functioning normally now, and we should get back to business," Ryder Quinn said, pushing Julian Kingston out.
Soon, only Damian Knight and Sumr Monroe were left in the room.
Sumr Monroe looked at the IV above her head and said sowhat weakly, "It’s already very late. You should rest too. I can watch the IV myself."
Damian Knight replied blankly, "I don’t like owing people. You sleep; you don’t have to worry about ."
Sumr Monroe wanted to say more, but she was simply too tired. In the end, she said nothing, peacefully closing her eyes to rest.
It wasn’t long before her breathing beca steady, and she fell into a slumber.
Damian Knight had been sitting with his back to Sumr Monroe. Once he heard her steady breathing, he slowly turned around, his gaze falling on Sumr Monroe’s face.
In sleep, Sumr Monroe shed all her defenses, obediently like a sleeping Persian cat.
Damian Knight felt as though Sumr Monroe’s face had a magnetic quality. Before he knew it, his hand was almost touching her cheek.
Startled, Damian Knight quickly and regretfully pulled his hand back.
Could it be that he’s so deprived he’s willing to settle for anything?
But to be fair, Sumr Monroe was indeed much better than those so-called high-society ladies his mother tried to introduce to him. If it were her, he wouldn’t be so opposed to the idea of spending a lifeti with a woman.
His mind involuntarily filled with images of Sumr Monroe.
But soon, Damian Knight agitatedly shook his head. He didn’t want to be alone with Sumr Monroe any longer, lest he should need another cold shower.
So Damian Knight simply stood up and walked to the window to smoke.
He opened the window wide to prevent the smoke from blowing inside, but doing so allowed the chilly night wind to give him a headache.
Just as Damian Knight finished his cigarette and was about to close the window, he received a call from his mother, Susan Stone.
