Mio Osborne looked at the scenery receding from the car window, his gaze dark and resolute.
Sumr Monroe cannot bla him; he has his teaching tasks to complete. With a troublemaker like Sumr in the class, it would ruin his entire teaching career, so he has to do this, and he must do this!
...
Stanton Manor.
The funeral began, and the guests arrived one after another.
Stella Monroe changed her outfit, wearing a white mourning dress. Her face was exquisitely made up, only the color of her lipstick was chosen to be lighter.
She had just returned today and cried several tis, until a phone call with Felix Jennings finally cald her emotions down.
The dead cannot co back to life. No matter how much she cries or grieves, she cannot bring her precious daughter back to life.
So she cannot indulge in sadness; she must pull herself together, avenge Clarissa, and make Sumr Monroe die without a burial place!
Thinking of this, Stella completely revived herself, applied so highlighter on her nose bridge, making her features appear more pronounced.
This morning when she returned, she noticed Henry Stanton’s gaze upon her; it was a man’s desire.
She must tightly hold onto Henry Stanton; this way, she could avenge herself more smoothly!
Stella finished dressing up and went downstairs, but Henry Stanton was nowhere in sight.
She called for the butler to inquire, "Where is the master? Is he entertaining guests in the backyard?"
"No," the butler shook his head, saying, "The master said he had sothing to attend to and went out temporarily."
Stella furrowed her brows suspiciously.
The guests were almost all here, where did Henry Stanton go?
She felt a vague sense of foreboding.
At this mont, a guest ca in to report—
"Madam, there are two guests outside without invitations. Do you want to go out and take a look?"
"Without invitations?" Stella hesitated for a mont, asked, "Did they ntion who they are?"
The servant nodded, "They said they are teachers from Crestfall University."
"Crestfall University..." Stella rembered that Sumr Monroe was now studying at Crestfall University. Her expression darkened as she waved dismissively, "I won’t go, just take them directly to the backyard to find Sumr."
"Alright, Madam." The servant bowed and turned to leave.
Stella’s gaze fell on the newly appointed butler. She wore a smile, appearing amicable, and asked, "How many years have you been with this family?"
The butler replied respectfully, "Six months."
"Six months..." Stella thought for a mont, then asked, "Who promoted you to be the butler?"
The butler, a bit simple-minded, didn’t think much, answered honestly again, "It was the master’s decision."
Stella nodded, asked no more, but took out a bracelet in her hand, handed it to the butler, "This is top-quality jade I bought for myself on my birthday last year. You can have it."
The butler was startled, although he was slow-witted, he knew why the previous butler was dismissed.
It was precisely because he took many benefits from Stella and angered Henry Stanton.
He quickly waved his hand, "No, no, your salary is already very generous. I cannot take anything from you. Thank you, I appreciate your kindness. If you need anything, just let know anyti."
The butler said, and added, "The backyard should be busy, I’ll go check."
After speaking, the butler, with a pale face, left in a hurry.
Stella’s face beca unpleasant.
Why would Henry Stanton choose such a person as the butler? Cowardly and dull, completely uncontrollable.
She frowned deeply, surveying the entire villa.
She noticed that her confidants were either transferred from their original positions or fired. Henry Stanton could not possibly have the leisure and capability to manage such trivial matters; it must be Sumr Monroe who did this!
Thinking of Sumr Monroe, Stella ground her teeth in hatred.
She stepped towards the backyard as Mio Osborne and Principal Payne were led by the servants to the entrance of the backyard at that mont.
