Yan Xixi glanced over. "Who?"
At that mont, a tall figure had already gotten into an SUV. By the ti Yan Xixi looked, the car had vanished like a streak of smoke.
"Wasn’t that guy who just left the Third Young Master?"
Yan Xixi was stunned. She instinctively stood up and looked around vigilantly, but where was any trace of Wan Donglin?
"Where is he?"
Xu Xiaoya was also surprised. The man who had just left was definitely Wan Donglin; she was positive she hadn’t seen wrong. But why on earth would Wan Donglin appear near this residential complex?
"Xiaoya, was it really him?"
Seeing Yan Xixi’s panicked expression and knowing her deep fear of Wan Donglin, Xu Xiaoya didn’t want her to worry. "I guess I was seeing things... It probably wasn’t him, just a tall guy passing by."
Yan Xixi still felt uneasy. "Are you sure it wasn’t him?"
"Positive! I made a mistake."
Yan Xixi heaved a sigh of relief. "It’s good it wasn’t him. I’m going to get more skewers."
Perhaps due to her nervousness, Yan Xixi unconsciously grabbed a lot of food. When she looked, it was all spicy beef and similar items.
After a few spicy dried chili beef skewers, she finally cald down a bit.
"Xiaoya, that man... It really wasn’t Wan Donglin, was it?"
"It wasn’t."

She cautiously asked, "Xixi, would the Third Young Master really harm you?"
Yan Xixi was taken aback.
Xu Xiaoya pressed on, "If the Third Young Master is truly a threat, I’ll avoid him from now on and also cut off contact with Zhang Xiang."
Yan Xixi found herself unable to respond. Would Wan Donglin harm ? Would he chase down to kill ? But I’m slowly realizing sothing: those few small sums of money an nothing to him; they wouldn’t be worth his concern. Additionally, my perception of him has changed a bit ever since I t Liu Daqing. The fact that he didn’t expose my lies in front of Liu Daqing, nor reveal his injured palm, proves he bears no malice. At least, he has no murderous intent toward . Still, I don’t want to be entangled with this guy anymore.
She grumbled, "You don’t understand. That guy clings like a parasite; once he latches on, he’s impossible to shake off. I don’t want to be his plaything again..."
Xu Xiaoya gave a bitter smile. "I guess that’s just how people like them are. They enter into marriages of convenience for their family’s benefit but also have affairs with other won. Forget it; being entangled is truly pointless. If he truly wanted to marry you, well, that would be more like it..."
Yan Xixi suddenly rembered Wan Donglin’s words. "Xixi, won’t it suffice if I marry you? Xixi, as long as you wish, I will marry you!"
It’s strange that I only rembered those words now, after so long.
However, she didn’t share this with Xu Xiaoya and didn’t want to ntion it at all.
My relationship with Huang Xiaojue has already transford subtly—if sothing else were to happen now, it would truly be like adding insult to injury. I absolutely have to keep as far away from Wan Donglin as possible. The farther, the better.
This little interlude didn’t dampen Yan Xixi’s mood, however. The beef skewers at this cold-pot skewer place were especially tasty, and the dry chili powder dipping dish was also very flavorful. The two of them ate heartily. Once they had eaten their fill, Xu Xiaoya put down her chopsticks. "Xixi, I have sothing I want to discuss with you."
