He knew what had happened that night. He felt it was inevitable. He had waited for five full years; for him, this period was neither excessively long nor short.
It was only after thorough consideration that he had done what he did to her, so he was absolutely going to take responsibility—full responsibility for her and their child.
Hua Xiaomo looked at the exquisite box he took out. She knew what was inside, yet she felt a strange apprehension about opening it.
Finally, Zi Yunsui opened the small box in front of her, revealing a dazzlingly smooth diamond ring inside.
"Xiao Mo, thank you for agreeing to marry . I’m really happy. This ring, I hope you..." Zi Yunsui couldn’t finish his sentence, but he took the ring out of the box, his hand slowly reaching for hers, intending to slide the ring onto her ring finger.
But at that mont, Hua Xiaomo’s fingers curled unexpectedly, and the ring didn’t slip on smoothly, leaving Zi Yunsui montarily embarrassed.
"How clumsy of . See, I can’t even put a ring on you properly," Zi Yunsui said with a smile.
Hua Xiaomo looked at him, a strange feeling in her eyes. It wasn’t that he was clumsy; a sense of discomfort had just washed over her.
She took the ring and placed it back into the small box.
"Let’s leave this ring for tomorrow, when we can put them on each other, alright?" Hua Xiaomo looked at him, a dim light shining in her eyes.
"Put them on each other? Does that an you’ve prepared a ring for as well?" Zi Yunsui beca unexpectedly excited upon hearing this. He had never imagined Hua Xiaomo had already bought a ring too.
Hua Xiaomo laughed, saying nothing, her face turning away slightly. It took a while before she responded.
"I won’t disturb your work any longer. You carry on, Zi Yunsui. I’m heading out. If you have ti tonight, co ho early; I’ll cook dinner for you," Hua Xiaomo added, saying no more. She felt that maybe she should take the ti to slowly get used to being with him. Perhaps they could really be together.
"Alright, let’s do that! I will definitely co ho early tonight," Zi Yunsui nodded with a smile, then watched Hua Xiaomo leave the office.
Zi Yunsui’s gaze returned to the diamond ring in his hand. He felt as if the entire world was leaning towards him, an imnse feeling of happiness engulfing him.
That night, Hua Xiaomo prepared many dishes. She waited in the villa for Zi Yunsui to return.
But it was past eight o’clock, and Zi Yunsui hadn’t co back.
Hua Xiaomo watched the clock, an unsettling anxiety creeping in. She didn’t know why she felt this way, but it made her incredibly nervous and uneasy.
Why would this be? Hua Xiaomo’s heart raced. Could sothing have happened?
Hopefully, nothing has happened. Hua Xiaomo paced a few steps in the living room; even the servant could see she was restless.
"Miss, shall we reheat the dishes?" the servant asked.
"Let’s wait a bit longer!" Hua Xiaomo instructed, then paced several more steps in the living room.
She thought about what she had said to Zi Yunsui in the office today: they had arranged to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau together at ten o’clock tomorrow morning to register their marriage. It was a decision she had pondered for a very long ti. She felt it was necessary to make this commitnt, for his sake and her own. This way, it might be good for both of them, and for Candy as well.
She believed Zi Yunsui would be good to Candy. He was a good man, so marrying him seed quite nice.
Yes, they were partners who had started their business together. He was a good companion, a good friend, a good confidant; she believed he would be a good husband in the future.
As Hua Xiaomo considered these things, it was as if a great weight had lifted from her heart. Indeed, why bother thinking too much?
Not everything turned out as one wished. It wasn’t necessarily true that only people in love could stay together, or that those not in love couldn’t.
What was important was that the man treated her well. He would do so for a lifeti, be good to her children—treating them as his own—and care for her ticulously. What was wrong with that?

These were lyrics sung so often in songs. Now she felt she truly needed to make so plans, not just for herself but also for Candy’s future.
Sitting on the sofa again, Hua Xiaomo stared blankly at the remote control, slightly dazed.
Suddenly, her cell phone rang. Hua Xiaomo quickly took the phone out of her bag and saw the familiar number; it was Zi Yunsui. He must still be working overti in the office, working very late!
He was always so imrsed when it ca to gas and computers. He was truly a computer genius. Initially, it was because she and this computer genius started a business together that they were so successful.
Thinking about it now, she really should appreciate him. Otherwise, how could she and Candy have such good living conditions?
With a faint smile on her face, Hua Xiaomo quickly answered the call. "Zi Yunsui? When will you be back?"
Suddenly, an unfamiliar male voice ca from the other end. "Are you Hua Xiaomo, the CEO of Purple Demon Immortal Inquiry Limited Company?"
Hua Xiaomo was stunned for a mont before she ca to her senses and replied, "Yes, I am. Who are you? How did you get Zi Yunsui’s phone?"
Hua Xiaomo was perplexed. How could Zi Yunsui’s phone end up in the hands of a stranger? Besides, he didn’t like others using his phone; he had always been particular about that.
"Oh, it’s like this. We are police officers from the Traffic Division. We found a business card with your na and cell phone number on him, along with his phone, so we called you. Please hurry over; this man has had a car accident," the other person said quickly.
Hua Xiaomo was completely stunned, her mind buzzing. A car accident? Oh my God, how could this happen?
Hua Xiaomo clutched the phone tightly. "Be clear! Who had the car accident? Where is it?"
The person on the other end spoke rapidly, and Hua Xiaomo turned paler with each word. Without wasting ti on any more questions, she quickly grabbed her bag and dashed out of the villa as if flying.
