Hua Xiaomo dashed towards the ergency room like a streak of lightning. The light in the ergency room was on, and many nurses rushed over to stop her.
"Miss, please calm down. The patient is now in the ergency room; you can’t go in," a nurse said quickly.
A sudden, intense fear gripped Hua Xiaomo’s heart. She didn’t understand why sothing like this had happened, especially so suddenly and without any warning.
"What on earth happened? Why? How could he suddenly be in a car accident!" Hua Xiaomo looked at the group of nurses with great confusion, desperate to know what had transpired.
More than anything, she needed to know Zi Yunsui’s condition. How is he now? I’m so, so scared.
The nurse looked at Hua Xiaomo, sensed her intense agitation, and tried to reason with her again. "As for what happened, it would be best for you to go to the traffic departnt to find out. We aren’t very clear on the details; he was brought in by an ambulance. We’re only responsible for treating patients. For other matters, you’ll need to contact the traffic police."
"Thank you!" Hua Xiaomo didn’t press further and quickly called Ye Xiangxue, asking her to co over.
Ye Xiangxue arrived a short while later. Hua Xiaomo was still there, and by then, officers from the traffic departnt had already found her.
"Are you a family mber of the patient?" an officer from the traffic departnt asked, looking at Hua Xiaomo.
Hua Xiaomo thought for a mont before answering, "I’m his superior; he’s my subordinate. If anything happens to him, I am responsible. I will bear all the expenses, and I implore you to investigate this thoroughly."
That’s right, we aren’t even married yet! And why did this have to happen the day before we were supposed to get our marriage certificate! It took so much to finally decide to get the certificate with him! Is fate really this cruel, determined not to let have my way, determined to create so many obstacles? Now Zi Yunsui is lying in the ergency room, his life hanging by a thread.
Her entire heart felt like it was being overrun by ants on a hot pan, a frantic, crawling anxiety.
Hua Xiaomo said this with forced calm. I absolutely have to find out what happened! How could Zi Yunsui suddenly get into a car accident? It’s too strange! He’s always been such a careful driver.
"This is just a simple traffic accident. The other vehicle had out-of-area plates. The driver was intoxicated, crossed the double yellow center line, and collided head-on with Mr. Zi Yunsui’s car. The other driver is also currently undergoing ergency treatnt at the hospital. Miss Hua, then please sign as his representative for this accident."
The police officer quickly recounted the details of the traffic accident.
Everything the officer said buzzed in Hua Xiaomo’s ears. But I can’t be sure if this was just an ordinary traffic accident or a malicious act of violence. But what the police said seems to confirm everything. Even if I wanted to say more, it would be useless. The most important thing is for Zi Yunsui to survive this.
Hua Xiaomo stared at the accident report the officer handed her, examining it ticulously. Finally, with a trembling hand, she took the pen and signed her na.
"Alright then, let’s leave it at that for now. If there are any further developnts in this case or if we find any other clues, we will contact you. The incident is currently classified as an ordinary traffic accident, so please handle the follow-up matters for both parties involved." After speaking, the police officer quickly left the hospital.
As Hua Xiaomo watched the police leave, her eyes reddened. My mind is a complete ss; I don’t know what to think. All I want is for Zi Yunsui to be safe.
"Xiao Mo, don’t worry too much. I believe Zi Yunsui will be fine," Ye Xiangxue said, trying to console her.
She put an arm around Hua Xiaomo’s shoulder, trying to calm her. But Ye Xiangxue could still see the profound tension and worry in Hua Xiaomo’s eyes.
"I hope so, but I’m just so scared, so scared!" Hua Xiaomo looked at Ye Xiangxue, her expression steeped in lancholy. I don’t know what to say. I truly wish this had never happened. But if... if anything should happen to him, what am I going to do? We were supposed to get our marriage certificate tomorrow! Why would sothing like this happen right now? Is this so kind of punishnt from the heavens? Why? What on earth did I, Hua Xiaomo, do to deserve such a punishnt? Heaven truly is blind!
"Xiao Mo, please don’t worry so much. You’re making scared too. Oh, how could sothing like this happen? Really," Ye Xiangxue said, her voice laced with worry as she looked at Hua Xiaomo, her own anxiety growing.
But Zi Yunsui absolutely *cannot* have anything happen to him! Otherwise, with such a large company to run, what would happen in the future? Would Hua Xiaomo have to shoulder everything alone?
Hua Xiaomo said nothing more. She sat on the bench, her eyes clouded with sorrow. For the first ti, I feel such profound fear for this man. I hope he’ll be safe. Please, let his surgery be successful, she prayed silently in her heart.
An eternity seed to pass. As dawn approached, the operating room light finally went out. Hua Xiaomo imdiately rushed forward.
"Doctor, how is the person inside? Please, tell quickly, how is he?" Hua Xiaomo cried out, her voice strained with tension, feeling as if she was about to collapse.
"Miss, please calm down. The patient is no longer in life-threatening danger. However, his nerves have suffered severe trauma, and I’m afraid he won’t be able to wake up for the ti being," the doctor said quickly, yet very directly conveying the patient’s condition.
Hua Xiaomo was stunned. She stared at the doctor. "What do you an, ’won’t be able to wake up for the ti being’? Doctor, what does that an? How can he not wake up? Does it an..."
Hua Xiaomo didn’t dare let her thoughts go further. I’m so scared... a vegetative state... could that happen to Zi Yunsui? No, it can’t be that cruel! That would be too cruel to him! He’s only twenty-three, a young man in the pri of his life! How could he just lie in bed, never waking up?!
"Please don’t get agitated. From what we can see now, his condition might just be temporary. As for when he’ll wake up, we can’t give any guarantees. It could be a few days, perhaps a month, or even a year or two. So, Miss, you need to be ntally prepared," the doctor said, and not wishing to get further entangled, he quickly left.
