Things hadn’t unfolded as expected, but who could deny that the present mont was truly the best!
Ye Xiangxue was looking after Zi Yunsui, and she genuinely seed to care for him. They appeared to get along well. However, Zi Yunsui’s condition upon waking was uncertain; Hua Xiaomo truly hoped he would awaken soon.

They sat nestled together, occasionally watching the people passing by. Most were patients from the hospital, out to enjoy the sun or take a stroll in the square.
At that mont, Hua Xiaomo saw an elderly couple supporting each other as they erged. The wife seed to have a problem with one leg, so her husband supported her by the arm as they walked intimately across the square.
Watching them, Hua Xiaomo felt a wave of emotion. What a beautiful picture, she thought. To be able to continue supporting each other like this, until their hair turns white, until death, for an entire lifeti—that must be an incredibly happy feeling.
"They look so happy!" Hua Xiaomo exclaid with emotion, her eyes glistening as she watched the elderly couple.
"We will be just as happy as they are," Qi Longbing replied with a smile. He draped an arm over her shoulder, pulling her head to rest in his embrace. At that mont, nothing else seed to matter. All he wanted was to hold his beloved like this and grow old together with her. Perhaps, when they were old, they would still be together, supporting each other as they walked forward, just like that elderly couple.
"I wonder what we’ll be like when we’re old? I really can’t imagine," Hua Xiaomo said jokingly, leaning against the man beside her. Suddenly, she felt a sense of peace; the scent of his embrace was intoxicating to her.
So many things ca to mind, she thought. He and I have been through so much, yet ultimately, I couldn’t escape this embrace. I don’t know why, but it’s as if I’m willing to lose myself in this feeling.
I feel like I still can’t leave him, she mused. And it’s the sa for him; it seems he can’t leave either. Whether in City A or City B, our hearts are just so tightly bound.
Being together was incredibly blissful. Perhaps this is the taste of happiness, she thought. They not only had love, but now they also had Candy. This sweet feeling always enveloped her, like fresh flowers, truly difficult to refuse.
Just then, Hua Xiaomo suddenly wondered, If we could truly be together, wouldn’t that be a good thing too? At least, Qi Longbing genuinely loves , and he would also be truly good to his Candy.
"When we’re old, you’ll still be this beautiful! And I’ll still be this handso! And we’ll have a whole flock of children!" Qi Longbing said with a laugh, then stroked Hua Xiaomo’s cheek and kissed her gently.

Hearing this, Hua Xiaomo’s eyes reddened around the rims. She suddenly rembered the child she had aborted and was overco with terrible regret. For a mont, she said nothing, feeling sowhat too ashad to face him.

"I have nothing on my mind, thank you," Hua Xiaomo said, her eyes holding an indescribable shadow. After a while, she added, "Qi Longbing, I’m sorry."
Qi Longbing’s heart tightened at her words. He looked at her earnestly and asked, "What on earth happened? Can you tell , please?"
After so thought, Hua Xiaomo finally said, "That ti, after I went back to City A, when you and I were together at the bridal shop... when I returned to City B, I found out I was pregnant. But... I didn’t keep the child. I had an abortion."
Upon hearing this, Qi Longbing was stunned. He looked at her intently and asked, "Is this true? Xiao Mo, then why didn’t you call ? Why did you abort the child? You silly girl, that was my child! And you still aborted ours? You’re truly too heartless!"
"Good thing you didn’t abort Candy back then, otherwise I really wouldn’t have forgiven you!" Qi Longbing said, pretending to be angry. He then stroked Hua Xiaomo’s head; he was both exasperated and annoyed, but in the end, he spoke comfortingly.
"You mustn’t do this again. In the future, you have to tell everything, understand? You know I care about you deeply. Sothing this major, you absolutely must tell next ti! What if a situation like this arises again? You can’t just make your own decisions anymore, you know? Alright? Promise ?"
Hua Xiaomo looked at his earnest expression, and his words deeply moved her. He’s right, she thought. It was my fault. I shouldn’t have been so impulsive and aborted that child. If I had kept it then, perhaps it would have been born by now, and Candy would have a sibling.
"I know. I won’t do it again. Please don’t be angry anymore, alright, Qi Longbing?" Hua Xiaomo said, trying to soothe him. At this point, she, in turn, felt she was sowhat in the wrong.
