Actually, she herself hasn’t even finished her al yet!
Given Xi Mohan’s status, it was naturally impossible for him to stay in an ordinary ward. Moreover, this man has a severe obsession with cleanliness. Even with a minor injury, he chose to stay in a high-class ward.
The high-class wards in the hospital are equivalent to the presidential suites in hotels, and they are all about burning money. Especially the presidential-level high-class ward Xi Mohan is staying in now, the cost per day exceeds a five-figure sum.
Initially, when he decided to be hospitalized due to his injury, Ning Wan planned to pay for it herself, but upon seeing the bill, she silently retracted her desire to act like a big spender.
As she stepped out of the elevator, it might be because the price of the high-class wards was too expensive, and also because there weren’t many wealthy people injured or ill enough to be hospitalized at the mont, so out of over a dozen wards on the floor, only three or four were occupied, including Xi Mohan’s.
As Ning Wan exited the elevator and looked forward, she couldn’t help but frown, feeling an irresistible doubt in her heart.
There would usually be two black-clad bodyguards standing at the entrance of Xi Mohan’s ward, but today the corridor was eerily quiet, with only the occasional cough of an old man heard from one of the wards.
Ning Wan had seen that old man before; he is the father of the CEO of so company, who is already seventy years old this year. With age, various ailnts have followed, so the man has directly stayed in the hospital. The old man has a pleasant personality—sotis when he sees her coming out of Xi Mohan’s ward, he would greet her.
Carrying two packed als, one of which was a tasty nutritional porridge from a restaurant, Ning Wan decided to head directly to the old man’s ward.
It wasn’t that she had money to spare and was buying food for an old man she didn’t know well; rather, she knew that the old man’s son and daughter-in-law were both busy with work and spent a lot of ti abroad. Usually, doctors and nurses took care of the old man. Previously, they had hired a caretaker, but the caretaker was dishonest and had been dismissed yesterday; they probably hadn’t managed to hire a new one yet.
When she went to buy als for Xi Mohan, sothing prompted Ning Wan to also buy one for the old man.
The TV in the ward was tuned to the news, and the white-haired old man lying on the hospital bed occasionally covered his mouth to cough.
Ning Wan pushed the door and entered. The old man, upon seeing her, was initially startled, then a kind expression spread across his face. "Young lady, what brings you here?"
Ning Wan smiled and asked, "Grandpa, have you eaten?"
The old man honestly shook his head, "I was planning to get so food from the cafeteria after watching the news. Young lady, have you eaten? Would you like to join in the cafeteria later?"
Hearing his suggestion, Ning Wan imdiately shook her head and lifted the nutritional porridge she had bought for him, "Grandpa, I bought you so nutritional porridge on my way here. If you don’t mind, you can have this. If I co again tonight, I’ll bring you so supper, how about that?"
The old man paused, his smile growing even warr, half-jokingly he said, "Haha, since you’ve already bought so food, I don’t have to walk that far. Otherwise, I’d worry that the cafeteria staff might have already finished their shift by the ti I get there."
Ning Wan smiled, carried the porridge over to the bedside table, and placed it there. She also opened it for him and, thinking for a mont, placed the rest of the food aside. She then took the bowl and spoon the old man regularly used from the room and brought them to the washroom to clean.
When she returned from washing them, the old man, looking at Ning Wan, asked, "Did you also buy this al for your boyfriend?"
Ning Wan paused for a mont, then explained with a smile, "He is not my boyfriend."
"And yet you bring him food every day and co to accompany him? If he’s not your boyfriend, why the effort?"
After a thought, Ning Wan explained, "He got injured because he was saving ."
"Does he like you?"
"No, he wouldn’t like ."
"That’s good then. Young lady, I’ll tell you, when I went out for a walk earlier, I saw a beautiful woman entering his ward. Hmm... although that woman wasn’t as young or as beautiful as you... but such a flirtatious man is better left alone. If you want to date soone, tell grandpa. I’ll introduce you to so handso, rich, and faithful n..."
