Now reading: Chapter 1206: The Tomb Keeper from The Bodyguard King’s CEO Wife, a Urban novel by Eastern Priest.

A family having such a large cetery must be the dream of all those who rule families. After all, a tomb is the ho of the dead, and the scale of a tomb is just like the scale of a mansion; the higher the status of a person, the larger the tomb and the higher the specifications.

Ye Shikai was simply shocked. In this Outer Suburb Mountain, there was an "entirely different world". Many of the cetery’s decorations were marble. Transporting so much stone through mountain paths and constructing it should take a long ti, right?

"Mr. Ye, you’ll have to bear with it for a while. The ritual ceremony will last four or five hours, and the guards need to stand by." Taking advantage of a mont when no one was paying attention, Zheng Ji slipped over quietly and said in a low voice. Ye Shikai was a significant figure, so naturally, Zheng Ji didn’t dare to slack off. However, according to the arrangent, the guards had to provide close protection. Making a big shot stand there for four or five hours, listening to the incantations of the "ghost talisman," was even more hypnotic than listening to a leader’s eting in the office. Zheng Ji worried that Ye Shikai didn’t have the patience for it.

"Don’t worry, Mr. Zheng should be more careful. Sothing might happen during the ritual." Ye Shikai shared his analysis. During the ritual, everyone would be present, and with such a large area to guard, the defense was at its weakest. Zheng Ji had placed the people from the Netherworld Palace and the Moon God Temple together, making it easier for Ye Shikai to command and preventing the real "guards" from getting suspicious and talking too much.

"Thank you all for coming. The grand ceremony is the most important event for the Zheng Family each year, seeking ancestral protection through worship..." Zheng Li slowly walked to the center, giving a speech to all the Zheng Family mbers below, making Ye Shikai yawn uncontrollably. No wonder Zheng Ji wanted to give him a "heads-up" beforehand.

"Do you find it boring?" Ji Qian said faintly from behind him.

"Yes, it feels like being in a classroom listening to a lecture." Ye Shikai said self-deprecatingly; indeed, this was the universally recognized "lullaby."

"Everyone needs to be vigilant. There could be a big fight later." Ye Shikai reminded everyone.

"It seems you’ve thought of everything." After saying this, Ji Qian turned and left. It’s not that she didn’t want to chat with Ye Shikai, but she needed to go back and organize the Moon Guards. Earlier, she’d noticed that the position of the ritual cetery was like a Gourd Valley, with only one small entrance. The cetery was located in a valley surrounded by high ground, making it a "fatal ground" during a conflict.

This place was too easy to ambush. If soone surrounded this area, attacking from high ground and blocking the entrance, those inside would have no escape like birds with clipped wings.

Seeing this, Ji Qian couldn’t help but curse the Zheng Family’s ancestors in her heart. Why choose a place like this for a tomb, if not deliberately inviting trouble?

Ye Shikai arrived on the high ground overlooking the scene below. He had to admit, the Zheng Family’s way of holding a ritual was very traditional, looking as if it was a historical TV drama.

"Oh, it seems this year’s ceremony is quite lively." Suddenly, a voice sounded not far away. Ye Shikai whirled around. It was the sa white-haired old man with the broom from before, sitting silently on the ground watching the scene below.

"How can it be him?" Ye Shikai was surprised. The old man was only thirty or forty ters away. With his abilities, he should have sensed the old man, yet he appeared like a Ghost, causing a montary fright. If he had appeared behind him, wouldn’t taking his life have been just as easy?

Although puzzled, Ye Shikai still walked over. He still didn’t know the old man’s identity, but he sensed that this old man must be soone significant, though the broom... was indeed intimidating.

Ye Shikai wanted to talk to the old man for another intuitive reason. He vaguely felt that the old man appeared next to him just to chat.

"Soul Destroyer, you stay here to guard, I’ll go check it out." Ye Shikai instructed and jogged over. Soul Destroyer also noticed the old man. Earlier, he saw the old man turn dozens of mutated corpses into powder with just a broom sweep. This level of power wasn’t ordinary. Soul Destroyer wanted to stop Ye Shikai, but it was too late.

"Senior, we et again." Ye Shikai removed his mask and approached the old man.

"It’s you, I didn’t expect to see you here again." The old man turned his head, recognized Ye Shikai, and didn’t make a move; instead, he turned back to continue watching the ceremony.

"Senior, I left in a hurry last ti and didn’t get to ask your na."

"Is that important? I, the old fellow, have been in these mountains for so long that I see more beasts than people. The na thing hasn’t been ntioned in a long ti... it seems... I can’t rember it either." The old man looked ahead, muttering continuously.

He’s almost forgotten his own na...

Ye Shikai was sweating. How many years has this old man been in the mountains? Ten years, twenty, or even forty or fifty years? Yet, with such high skill, his real age must be much greater than he appears, possibly even over a hundred. He looked seventy or eighty, so, could it really be a "century of seclusion?"

If soone didn’t communicate with others for a century, they might truly forget many things, even their own na.

The old man didn’t seem willing to reveal his identity, so Ye Shikai refrained from pressing further but opted for a different approach.

"Senior, do you know them?" Ye Shikai sat beside the old man, pointing to the ceremony below.

"Yes, I co every year, but it’s always the sa old stuff, really boring." The old man shook his head lightly, "Forget it, forget it, I’ll sweep the graves after they all leave."

As he spoke, the old man turned to look at Ye Shikai’s clothes, and there was finally a hint of confusion on his otherwise calm face.

"You don’t look like a Zheng Family mber, and you weren’t dressed like this before." The old man’s tone suddenly heightened.

"Who are you, actually?" The old man exuded a strong aura, weighing down on Ye Shikai’s chest.

"And who might you be, Senior?" At this critical mont, Ye Shikai didn’t back down; instead, he questioned the old man right back.

"Haha, you’re quite bold for a young lad." The old man laughed instead of getting angry.

"Alright then, since you asked, I am the guardian of this tomb. As for my residence, you visited today — the wooden house by the cliff. Are you satisfied now?"

Guardian.

Ye Shikai was dubious; was this old man a Zheng Family mber? Yet considering his aura, it didn’t really seem like it.
