Chapter 583: Chapter 583: Pre-Marital Anxiety Disorder
“What else do you want to say,” Su Qingyu said angrily, her tone laced with hints of sobbing.
“Qingyu, give three minutes to explain, okay?” Ye Shikai forced himself to calm down, knowing that the more sensitive the matter, the calr he had to be.
“Fine, I’ll listen to what you have to say.” Su Qingyu called out coldly. Ye Shikai let out a sigh of relief and recounted the whole incident from start to finish, but it was a “lie” he fabricated, claiming he was here to help a female classmate.
Half a minute later, Ye Shikai could clearly feel the Fire Energy from the other end of the phone had dissipated quite a bit.
“I must see you at ho before noon tomorrow.” After these words ca through the phone, Su Qingyu hung up.
“Finally explained everything.” Ye Shikai tossed his phone onto the bed, then himself collapsed onto it. What a ss this all was. Taking advantage of this break, Ye Shikai carefully reflected on what Chen Yuxin had just said. He hadn’t realized that cultivation had so many different paths; it was said that cultivators centered around the West, but now it seed the East was also teeming with hidden dragons and crouching tigers. Chen Yuxin had ntioned she was at the Soul Ergence mid-stage level, so what level was Ye Shikai? As he tossed and turned, Ye Shikai began to regret rushing out from Chen Yaogzu’s so hastily.
“Since she’s at the mid-stage of Soul Ergence, I should be no worse off,” Ye Shikai thought, gradually feeling sleepy. The weariness of the day fully washed over him, and before he knew it, he had slipped into dreamland.
…
Yanjing.
“Sis, don’t be mad anymore; brother-in-law has already explained things clearly to you.” In the living room, Su Ziqing was non-stop persuading Su Qingyu, who, in reality, had already let go of her anger and was just putting on an act.
“Alright, alright, I’m not angry anymore.” Su Qingyu turned her head away, saying dismissively.
“Tehe, sis, I think you’ve got pre-wedding jitters,” Su Ziqing said with a sly smile.
“Nonsense, that’s not true,” Su Qingyu’s pretty face reddened, obviously lacking confidence.
“The internet says most brides have this symptom before getting married. Sis, you should see a doctor,” Su Ziqing was going to continue, but then she wilted under Su Qingyu’s cold gaze. There was no helping it; her sister had a firm grip on all her little secrets.
“Go up, ti to sleep.” Su Qingyu pointed towards the staircase, and Su Ziqing scurried upstairs…
…
The next day.
The people from Netherworld Palace went to Jiangnan to pick up Ye Shikai. Yanjing and Jiangnan were a thousand miles apart, and in order to be quicker, Ye Shikai chose to take a plane.
“Dear passengers, welco aboard this flight…” Ye Shikai sat in his first-class seat, bored, and started playing gas on his phone.
“Miss, hello, your seat is by the window on the left.”
“Okay, thank you.”
“Kai, what a coincidence that we are on the sa flight.” A light laugh reached Ye Shikai’s ears; he looked up to see none other than Chen Yuxin. Shoot, what was she doing here? Ye Shikai had a sinking feeling, a very bad premonition.
Then he thought, this was the earliest flight of the day; Chen Yuxin must have predicted his movents. And with her status, she probably chartered flights all the ti; she had deliberately kept this seat open for Ye Shikai.
“What a coincidence.” Ye Shikai glanced at the empty economy class behind him and couldn’t help but think cynically that this was anything but a coincidence—it was clearly all planned.
“We have a two-hour flight; let’s chat,” Chen Yuxin said with a smile, the two of them separated only by an aisle, close enough to touch each other if they reached out.
“Xin, I had insomnia last night, and now I’m a bit tired. Do you mind letting sleep?” Ye Shikai turned away, put his back towards Chen Yuxin, reclined his seat, and lay down, showing no intention of getting up.
“Alright then.” Chen Yuxin said sowhat disappointedly, and asked a flight attendant for a blanket, carefully covering Ye Shikai with it.
Half an hour later.
Ye Shikai, who was feigning sleep, suddenly felt warm breath and a faint breathing near his face, as if sothing was touching his cheek. Needless to say, it must be Chen Yuxin.
“Huff huff.” Suddenly, a hot breath poured into his ear; she actually blew into his ear. Enduring her “tornt,” a series of light giggles reached his ears, causing Ye Shikai’s brows to involuntarily furrow.
“Kai, you’ve been caught pretending to sleep; co on, get up.” Chen Yuxin said with a laugh, then Ye Shikai felt his chest being pressed by sothing, and on opening his eyes saw Chen Yuxin comfortably sprawled on his chest.
“Xin, can’t you calm down a bit,” Ye Shikai said helplessly.
…
Yanjing.
“Dad, why did you co over so early?” In the living room, in front of two stunningly beautiful girls, sat an imposing man, Su Pengzhan himself.
“Tehe, dad, long ti no see,” Su Ziqing sat beside Su Pengzhan and played coy.
“Yu, there are so things I need to talk to you about.” Su Pengzhan sipped his tea and spoke indifferently.
“I’ll go up then.” Seeing a chance to escape, Su Ziqing was about to flee but was stopped by Su Pengzhan, “Young lady, no need to leave. Stay here and listen.”
“Yu, does Ye have thoughts of returning to the army?” Su Pengzhan got straight to the point, but this topic was the last thing Su Qingyu wanted to bring up.
“Dad, we’ve reached a consensus on this; he’s not going,” Su Qingyu stated flatly. In Huaxia, children often shrink away from their stern fathers, and Su Qingyu did not confront him.
“Is it a consensus you both reached, or did you force him into it?” Su Pengzhan tapped his fingers on the table, his voice rising in question.
“Dad, what are your thoughts?” Su Ziqing jumped in to smooth things over.
“I was in favor of it at the ti. That’s Ye’s profession, his choice, and I fully respect it,” Su Pengzhan said calmly.
“No, I disagree,” Su Qingyu declared. “We’re married now, and I have the right to interfere in his matters.”
“Yu, if Ye doesn’t approve of you being the CEO and wants you to retire, would you agree to quit?” Su Pengzhan retorted. “If you wouldn’t, then you don’t have the right to interfere with Ye’s decision.”
“Dad, you’re conflating issues,” Su Ziqing quickly jumped to Su Qingyu’s defense. “Sis doesn’t want her husband to go to the army because it’s too dangerous. Is that the sa as her being CEO?”
“You little girl, what do you know? Go back to your room right now,” Su Pengzhan knocked on Su Ziqing’s head and scolded her.
“Today, I’ll wait here for Ye to co back, so I can get a clear answer.”
