Lucien and First Blade watched as the Winter Monkey scread while clutching his head in pain.
They had so many questions, but they both knew one thing.
Simon was using a strange ntal technique on the Winter Monkey, and this technique was causing extre pain to the Winter Monkey.
This shocked both of them because Simon was just a Fiend and the Winter Monkey was a Minor Calamity, and the Winter Monkey was also not a normal Minor Calamity Beast.
It was a demonic beast that could speak before becoming a Demon Lord.
Such a thing ant that the mind and sea of consciousness of the Winter Monkey was not normal.
How could a ntal technique of Simon affect the Winter Monkey?
And what ntal technique had the shape of a rat?
Or many rats to be exact?
This question was sothing the Winter Monkey also had before he started feeling the worst pain he had ever felt in his life.
When the black rats first entered his mind, they did nothing and just stayed at the edge of the barrier of his sea of consciousness, he was baffled.
The ntal rats were weak.
So were comparable to Lesser beasts. While so were comparable to Dire Beasts.
What could they hope to achieve in his mind.
But the mont over a dozen rats entered his mind, they began clawing and chewing on his barrier, and it was at that mont that he realized how terrifying the rats were.
They possessed an ability that was similar to decay, and his ntal barrier crumbled in no ti and they entered his sea of consciousness.
The mont they entered his sea of consciousness, they began ’corrupting’ his sea of consciousness.
And this corruption was extrely painful to him.
Unfortunately for the Winter Monkey, he was still a beast at the end of the day.
He had no knowledge on how to properly control his ntal energy and he had no knowledge of defensive ntal techniques.
He could only send his ntal energy to crash into the rats in a haphazard manner.
But this only made his condition worse.
So of the rats were destroyed, but their destruction led to Simon’s unique ntal energy ’corrupting’ the sea of consciousness of the Winter Monkey.
The Winter Monkey’s screams continued, and Lucien and First Blade could not help but beco uncomfortable hearing the screams of a monkey that was the size of a human child.
What made the sight worse was how Simon indifferently held one of its chain as it trashed around.
Eventually, Lucien could no longer take it.
He approached Simon and placed a hand on Simon’s shoulder.
"Hey. Isn’t that enough? I don’t know what you’re doing but you should stop. If you’re causing it this much pain, how do you expect it to have the energy to fight for us?"
Simon glanced at Lucien’s shoulder before he looked at Lucien.
"Don’t worry. That’s not a problem."
Lucien frowned, then he looked at the Winter Monkey that was still thrashing around in pain.
He did not ask Simon to stop because he felt pity for the Winter Monkey.
No.
He asked Simon to stop because he had used his money to buy the Winter Monkey.
Seeing the Winter Monkey in such pain hurt him because the Winter Monkey was his, and Simon was basically damaging what was his.
’I don’t know what he’s doing but I’m sure he’s not stupid enough to kill the Winter Monkey that’s basically our only hope of survival.’
Lucien shifted his gaze toward First Blade, and he narrowed his eyes.
The more he looked at the old demon, the more baffled he beca.
’Why has he been standing there and why has he not attacked us since?’
He looked at Simon, and his brows furrowed slightly.
’Is it because he wants to make this bastard his disciple? He doesn’t want to hurt him? But even if he doesn’t want to hurt him, should he not have kidnapped him a long ti ago?’
’What’s going on?’
’... Or is he just arrogant and foolish?’
Three seconds after Lucien had these thoughts, the screams of the Winter Monkey died down, and Lucien’s head snapped in the direction of the Calamity Beast.
’Is it dead?’
Lucien instantly feared the worst, and even First Blade had the sa thought at first.
But after perceiving its aura, they saw that it was still alive.
"Get up."
Simon’s cold and indifferent voice flowed into their ears.
They looked at Simon, then they looked at the Winter Monkey that was still laying flat on the frozen sea.
"I said get up... or do you want to continue? I have many more rats to use on you."
At the ntion of ’rats’, the Winter Monkey trembled.
He slowly got on its four limbs, then he looked at Simon with visible fear in his eyes.
"What did you do to ?"
Simon did not respond.
Instead, he observed the Winter Monkey from up to down, then he nodded.
"Not bad. It worked."
The Winter Monkey felt a chill seeing Simon’s utterly indifferent gaze.
For so reason, he felt like a lab rat under Simon’s gaze.
And this was true.
As for Simon, he was satisfied because he had found a way to enslave demons and even demonic beasts aside from poison.
In the past two months, Simon had done so many things, and one of the things he did was to discover more things with the ntal techniques of the Mad Scientist.
’Actually, it’s to discover more things about my unique ntal energy.’
Simon realized that if he used one of the beasts in his sea of consciousness and transferred them into the sea of consciousness of his enemy, he could practically enslave them.
He could do two things.
The first is that he could fuse his ntal energy into the sea of consciousness of his enemies, and if he wished, he could make his ntal energy to cause damage and pain to his enemy’s sea of consciousness.
And the second is that he could self-destruct the ntal beast he transferred into his enemy’s sea of consciousness.
