Chen Xiaoli had just been having a nice chat with Gu Jiaojiao on the ox-cart.
She also knew that Gu Jiaojiao had been the one to save Yu Fangfang from her near-miscarriage.
She admired Gu Jiaojiao’s skills and wanted to get on good terms with her.
Besides, her sister worked at the textile factory, so doing a favor was a simple matter.
"Why don’t you co with and take a look? I’m not sure if they’ll have any suitable fabric."
Hearing this, Gu Jiaojiao got excited. She grabbed Chen Xiaoli’s arm, and a torrent of complints poured out of her.
"Sister Xiaoli, you’re the best! You’re practically a fairy sent from heaven, solving my most urgent problem."
Chen Xiaoli couldn’t help but laugh at Gu Jiaojiao’s antics.
’This person who seed so hard to approach... now that we’re talking, how can she be so childish?’
Chen Xiaoli thought for a mont, then suddenly rembered Gu Jiaojiao’s age. She had just turned eighteen this year—of course she was still a big kid.
Thinking this, her gaze toward Gu Jiaojiao softened even more.
Chen Xiaoli was over thirty this year—more than twelve years older than Gu Jiaojiao.
She then offered a piece of advice.
"The textile factory often has flawed goods that they sell off cheaply. Only the factory employees get that perk. If you’re just buying for yourself, you can use my sister’s employee allowance to get so."
For personal use, flawed goods were perfectly fine.
Gu Jiaojiao’s eyes lit up.
"Sister Xiaoli, you’re too kind, telling all this."
"If you hadn’t told , I would have never known."
Chen Xiaoli’s smile grew even brighter.
’No wonder even soone with Leng Yuan’s personality was won over by her. Her words are as sweet as honey; it’s hard for anyone to dislike her.’
Because of this, the two grew closer. They chatted and laughed all the way to the textile factory.
They spoke to the guard at the gate, who went inside the factory to call for soone.
Soon, a woman in her late twenties ran out, dressed in work clothes.
Her upper body was a little plump. Gu Jiaojiao glanced at her and had a pretty good idea of what was going on. ’She must have given birth recently.’
As Chen Sani walked over, the faint scent of milk in the air confird Gu Jiaojiao’s suspicion.
’I rember I still have a brown sugar coupon,’ she thought. ’It might co in handy.’
While Gu Jiaojiao was pondering this, Chen Xiaoli had already started chatting with her sister.
Chen Xiaoli’s younger sister was nad Chen Sani. Because she was the third child, her family all called her Sani, and when it was ti to register her na for the household registry, they just went with that.
People really weren’t particular about nas back then.
Nas like Tie Dan, Pillar, and Second Girl went straight onto the official household registration.
Chen Sani was quite happy to see Chen Xiaoli.
Chen Xiaoli introduced the two of them.
Gu Jiaojiao imdiately spoke up, "Sister Sani, just call Jiaojiao."
Chen Sani was very enthusiastic.
"Jiaojiao, as it happens, I have so flawed goods over here. If you don’t mind, you can co with to take a look."
Gu Jiaojiao quickly replied, "You must be joking, Sister Sani. How could I possibly be picky? Just being able to buy anything at a ti like this is wonderful. I have you and Sister Xiaoli to thank for today."
Both Chen Xiaoli and Chen Sani knew Gu Jiaojiao was just flattering them, but it was still very pleasant to hear.
Chen Sani led them to the warehouse and pointed to a pile of fabric in the corner.
"This is the flawed fabric. There’s nothing seriously wrong with it, they just used the wrong dye."
Gu Jiaojiao took a look. Indeed, there wasn’t a major issue. The dyeing was just a bit off, making the colors look a little unattractive.
Gu Jiaojiao asked, "Sister Sani, what’s the most I can take?"
Chen Sani hadn’t expected Gu Jiaojiao to want so much. She thought for a mont, then said in a low voice, "Two bolts."
One bolt of cloth was quite a lot. It was fifteen ters long and two ters wide. There was cotton cloth suitable for making quilts, as well as fabric for making clothes.
The bolts for clothes were even longer, over thirty ters.
Most people would never need that much!
