Gu Jiaojiao couldn’t be bothered with him.
"Make sure you take care of the dress."
"As for that other thing, don’t even think about it."
She issued another warning, her voice lacking conviction, before quickly fleeing to the kitchen to continue brewing the dicinal herbs.
After carving three molds, the man took a mont to tend to the wrinkled wedding dress.
He had originally wanted to give Gu Jiaojiao a grand wedding, but with all the current restrictions, they had to keep things simple.
Silk garnts were delicate, but Leng Yuan had seen his fair share of them as a child. Most of those possessions had been lost over ti, but he still knew how to care for them.
The two went about their respective tasks. As the afternoon wore on, the anger born from her midday embarrassnt had long since vanished.
When Gu Jiaojiao finished preparing the soap mixture, she needed to pour it into the molds. Seeing this, Leng Yuan stepped forward to help.
The task required no special skill, so Gu Jiaojiao didn’t even have to lift a finger.
But as she watched Leng Yuan work, an idea suddenly struck her.
"Honey, what do you think? For the facial soap, could I find a few trustworthy people to help? I’d pay them a wage, of course."
Making the soap wasn’t complicated, but brewing the herbs was ti-consuming. If she could find soone to take over that part, it would make her life so much easier.
This kind of delegation was second nature to her, a part of the mindset she’d grown up with. If it weren’t for the restrictions of the current era, she would have hired help long ago.
But for now, it would all have to be done in secret.
Leng Yuan had no objection, but he did propose a crucial condition.
"I’ll help you find people. How about you wear that dress for tonight?"
"Dream on."
The blush that had faded from Gu Jiaojiao’s cheeks ca rushing back at his words. Annoyed and embarrassed, she shot back two words and retreated to her room.
’That does it,’ she decided. ’I’m not talking to him anymore.’
Leng Yuan wasn’t concerned. He calmly poured all the soap mixture into the molds, then weighed them down.
Once he had tidied up everything in the courtyard, he went into the room.
Gu Jiaojiao, however, was still fuming.
’This man is always so calm and composed, as if he has everything under control.’
’Well, I’m not falling for it!’
「That night.」
As they lay in bed, the man suddenly rolled on top of her. Gu Jiaojiao froze for a second, her face instantly turning beet red.
The position was incredibly suggestive.
She raised her hands, about to push him off, when he suddenly leaned in close.
"Jiaojiao, why are you blushing?"
Gu Jiaojiao bit her lip.
’As if he doesn’t know.’
’It’d be stranger if I *wasn’t* blushing in this position!’
"Get off ."
Seeing her flustered and timid expression, a smile involuntarily touched the corners of his lips.
Leng Yuan rarely smiled.
But when he did, the effect was devastating. Gu Jiaojiao found herself staring, completely captivated.
「After a wild night.」
Gu Jiaojiao was absolutely furious.
That man... he’d actually used his good looks to seduce her last night, knowing full well that his face was her biggest weakness.
’Wasn’t that how it was the first ti? A total lapse in judgnt because of his looks.’
And now he’d figured it out and was deliberately using it to his advantage.
And she, completely unable to resist that face of his, had dazedly sold herself out again.
After breakfast, she imdiately went back to bed to catch up on sleep.
