Yang Qingxi lowered her gaze slightly.
At the ti, she had been too tired and didn’t care about anything but sleeping. So, after confirming the situation wasn’t dangerous, and Su Mo had already caught the killer. She didn’t bother to ask further and let him deal as he wished.
Now she found herself strangely dissatisfied with that decision.
Why had she chosen sleep over curiosity? If only she had been assertive.
Zhang Xulin, however, didn’t notice the subtle disappointnt in her tone.
She simply muttered to herself with slight curiosity. "I wonder how Su Mo dealt with her afterwards."
Yang Qingxi looked up again. Her expression returned to its usual composed calm.
"She beca his personal maid."
Zhang Xulin froze for a second.
"...What?"
Her eyes widened slightly.
Yang Qingxi continued speaking in a flat tone. Not showing her earlier dissatisfaction regarding Leng Shuang.
"Not only that."
"From the looks of things, Su Mo is planning to appoint her as the CEO of his company."
She leaned back slightly and added,
"He wants to create a heroic public image for her."
Zhang Xulin blinked several tis.
Yang Qingxi spoke in the sa flat tone.
"She’ll be credited with dismantling the largest cri gang in Jiangnan and rescuing over a hundred victims."
"For her, he even asked for my help to promote her reputation."
Zhang Xulin’s mouth slowly fell open wide. For several seconds, she didn’t know how to react.
"...Unbelievable."
Her voice sounded lost, as if she still couldn’t process the information. Her mood was very complicated.
What on earth had happened after she left the basent last night?
In the span of a single night, an assassin had sohow transford into the future CEO of a hundred-million-yuan company—and even gained the reputation of a heroic cri-fighter.
Zhang Xulin rubbed her temples.
For a mont, she genuinely wondered if she was still dreaming.

By the ti Captain Song Jinyu and the ard police units arrived at the warehouse district on the outskirts of Jiangnan, the situation had already begun to attract unwanted attention.
Word had spread faster than anyone expected.
Before the police vehicles had even fully surrounded the area, several dia vans were already parked along the roadside. Reporters and caran stood behind temporary barriers, their caras pointed eagerly toward the warehouses like sharks that had caught the scent of blood.
When Song Jinyu stepped out of the police vehicle, the flashing lights and raised microphones imdiately drew her attention.
Her brows furrowed.
She turned toward the officer standing beside her.
"Officer Lu," she said in a low voice, "who let this leak to the dia?"
Lu Han shook his head imdiately.
"Not from our side, Captain."
He glanced toward the restless reporters in the distance.
"My guess is that whoever reported the information to us also tipped off the dia."
Song Jinyu’s expression darkened slightly.
"This isn’t good."
She could already see several reporters attempting to move closer to the police periter, hoping to sneak in and capture exclusive footage.
Turning to another officer nearby, she spoke quickly.
"Officer Tang."
"Yes, Captain," Tang Hu responded imdiately.
"Keep the reporters outside the periter," she ordered. "There could be an ard confrontation at any mont. We can’t risk civilians getting caught in the crossfire."
"I understand, Captain."
Tang Hu nodded and imdiately moved toward the barricades to organise a line of officers to hold the reporters back.
Song Jinyu gave a short nod before shifting her attention to the ard police unit gathered behind her.
Her expression grew serious.
She pulled out her handgun and spoke clearly.
"Control the periter."
Her voice carried an authority that made every officer straighten instinctively.
"Rember, our priority is rescuing the hostages."
"The criminals may be ard, so stay alert."
She paused briefly before adding,
"If you encounter a woman fighting the gang mbers, report to imdiately."
"Do not let her get injured."
"Yes, Captain!"
The officers responded in unison.
Feeling the weight of the situation, none of them wasted ti. Within seconds, they moved quickly into formation and began advancing toward the warehouses.
However, the fierce resistance they had been preparing for never ca.
The first warehouse they entered was quiet.
Instead of ard criminals guarding the area, they found several gang mbers lying unconscious on the floor.
One officer quickly checked their condition.
"They’re alive, Captain," he reported through the radio.
Song Jinyu crouched beside one of the unconscious n and carefully examined the injuries.
Most of the wounds appeared to be blunt-force trauma.
Broken noses.
Bruised ribs.
Dislocated joints.
None of them were fatal, but the precision behind the strikes was obvious.
She stood up slowly.
"The woman ntioned in the report... she’s a skilled fighter," Song Jinyu said thoughtfully.
However, she quickly frowned.
"But no matter how skilled she is, charging into a criminal base alone is reckless."
"If these criminals had firearms, she could have been killed."
With that thought lingering in her mind, she signalled the officers to continue searching the compound.
Warehouse after warehouse was inspected.
The result was the sa every ti.
More unconscious gang mbers.
So had been knocked out with punches. Others had clearly been disard before being subdued.
But sothing strange stood out.
None of them had any weapons.
After finding more than a dozen unconscious criminals without a single firearm among them, Song Jinyu began to feel confused.
This gang had caused trouble for the Jiangnan police for years.
There was no way they operated without guns.
So where were the weapons?
Just as she was thinking about it, a voice suddenly crackled through her radio.
"Captain Song, we’ve located the hostages!"
Song Jinyu’s head snapped toward the direction of the transmission.
"Where are they?"
"In the fourth warehouse on the eastern side!"
Her voice beca urgent.
"I’m on my way."
Within seconds, she was already moving quickly across the compound, followed by several ard officers.
When she arrived at the fourth warehouse and stepped inside, the sight in front of her made her stop abruptly.
