Chapter 113 : I Know the Taste of the Sea

Before coming to Morninglight Manor, Eve had never visited any coastal cities near Vosini. Naturally, she had no idea what the taste of the sea was like. But now she had finally experienced it.

Not bad…

At a ti like this, the disadvantages of being a Vampire beca apparent. It was colorless and tasteless, and after being filtered through the panties as well, Eve only felt her parched throat being nourished like land receiving long-awaited spring rain.

It was just that the feeding had co a little too quickly.

She choked almost instantly. The speed at which the source burst forth had been completely unexpected, leaving her no ti to react.

After recovering for a mont, Eve sniffed her palm again. That familiar scent was there once more. She could not quite describe it. Aside from that mont in the carriage earlier, she had only ever slled it from Vivian.

So it was welfare cotton…

Then… does she have it as well?

Eve gradually ca to understand everything. Compared to her sowhat disheveled state of confusion, Vivian—the one responsible for the feeding—looked far better.

Only her legs felt slightly weak. Holding onto Eve’s shoulders for support, she lifted one foot after the other before tossing a piece of white fabric from her hand. It fell to the ground with a soft slap, sounding unexpectedly heavy.

After finishing all of that, she knelt down as well, facing Eve directly. Without saying a word, she grabbed the hand Eve was still sniffing and pulled it away before imdiately pressing a kiss onto her lips.

She showed no disgust at all.

After all, it was her own scent anyway. As the saying went, one should always be willing to share.

Perhaps others might not be so generous—but if it was Eve, Vivian would never mind.

And she suddenly discovered sothing.

When Eve kissed, her throat made a faint gurgling sound.

The mont she heard it, Vivian beca curious.

Their lips separated. Like soone playing with a feline, she tried scratching under Eve’s chin.

The result was nothing but a puzzled look.

For so reason, that made her slightly disappointed.

So she is not a cat after all… (sad)

Well, a dog would do too. Just rember not to forget your roots once you start feeling better.

Seeing the droplet of moisture sliding from Eve’s chin toward her throat, Vivian leaned forward and gently licked it away. Maintaining the principle of mutual assistance, she cleaned it up before wrapping her arms around Eve’s neck and hanging against her body.

She pinched the tip of Eve’s tongue before it could retract. Though sowhat shy, her tone remained teasing and intimate.

“I could not tell before. You are quite impressive.”

Eve did not understand what she ant. She rely replied calmly, “As long as you are happy, Young Miss.”

It had only been a sudden idea. She had thought it should not be too different from kissing. After all, both involved using the tongue…

Her learning ability had always been rather good.

“Hmph. Do you really think I am that easy to deal with?”

“Would you like to try again?”

“What…” Vivian was montarily speechless. She coughed twice to hide her embarrassnt and adopted a righteous expression. In the calm that followed, she spoke with great confidence. “That just now was rely your punishnt. Do not start imagining things!”

“If you say so.”

“Hmph. Blow on it for . It still hurts.” Vivian pouted as she muttered, lightly pointing at the bite mark on her neck. “Honestly… how am I supposed to et people like this now?”

“You were the one who told to—”

“Tsk. You thoughtless fool. Are you getting carried away? Hurry up!”

Eve obediently followed her instruction.

“Hey! I did not tell you to lick it!”

After offering a token protest—just in case it might be mistaken for consent—Vivian finally relaxed completely, letting her body collapse into Eve’s embrace.

She rested her chin on Eve’s shoulder, trembling slightly from ti to ti to prove that she had not fallen asleep.

As ntioned before, holding Vivian felt like holding a living doll—one that could speak and radiated warmth. As long as she did not resist, she felt incredibly soft.

And fragrant.

The scent of roses kept drifting from her hair. She must have soaked in the fragrance during her bath. Eve could not help but sniff repeatedly.

Once the breathing of the beauty in her arms gradually beca steady, Eve stopped and glanced toward the pendulum clock.

It had beco rather late.

Just as she was about to ask whether Vivian had fallen asleep, she suddenly heard a soft, unconscious murmur.

“Like…”

“Hm? What did you say, Young Miss?”

“Like…”

“Like what?” Eve was completely confused. She waited for a long ti, but no further response ca. Only then did she confirm that Vivian had already fallen asleep.

Thinking that remaining seated like this was not ideal—and afraid of waking her—Eve carefully leaned back and slowly lay down.

At that mont, a wisp of cold wind slipped through the room, sneaking under Vivian’s nightdress as if taking a brief tour. Vivian frowned in her sleep and hugged the body she could reach even tighter.

But looking at it this way, the Head Maid Sylvia’s good-night blessing seed to have had little effect after all.

Eve blinked and stopped thinking about it. She felt no sleepiness whatsoever—she had already slept too much earlier that day.

With nothing else to do, she gazed toward the window and began silently counting Vivian’s breaths.

Although the lights of Morninglight Manor were gradually extinguished one by one by the maids on night patrol, in another corner of Vosini the Hatherin Family’s mansion remained brightly lit.

A black car stopped at the entrance.

After the rear door opened, a maid with short silver hair stepped out first, followed by the true protagonist of the evening.

Through the open car window, Baifuli waved toward the driver’s seat.

“Thank you, Young Master Langdon, for taking the ti to drive despite your busy schedule.”

Langdon raised his eyebrow and lifted a hand.

“It was rely a small favor. There is no need to thank . People who thank each other like that are strangers, are they not?”

“Mm-hm~ If that is what you prefer.”

Langdon smiled and shook his head.

“Then that will be all for now. I should be going. If you need anything, feel free to contact anyti.”

When the car started again and disappeared at the end of the street, Baifuli finally withdrew her gaze. She lifted her head and looked at the familiar building before her, standing silently for quite so ti.

Two bodyguards leaned against the walls on either side of the entrance, arms crossed. Their drowsy eyes were hidden behind sunglasses as they struggled to stay awake.

Although they were extrely tired, the approaching footsteps startled them awake. They quickly adjusted their sunglasses and looked over.

“Miss, it is very late. The mansion is not receiving visitors at the mont. Please return another day,” one of them said responsibly as he raised a hand to block the two won.

“Ah…” Baifuli looked at him for a mont before asking casually, “How long have you been working here?”

The bodyguard thought for a mont. Since it was not a secret, he simply wanted to deal with the situation quickly.

“Less than a year. Please leave promptly.”

“I see.”

Baifuli nodded. No wonder he did not recognize her. She was not the type to impose accusations without reason. Then she extended her hand toward Mia beside her.

After receiving an item from Mia, she held it up for the bodyguard to see.

It was unmistakably the Hatherin Family crest.

The bodyguard reacted in less than half a second.

He imdiately stepped aside, bowed deeply, and spoke in a trembling voice.

“My deepest apologies! Please co in! Please co in!”

“Do not be so nervous. You are new. Just continue working hard in the future.” Baifuli smiled and patted his shoulder, nearly causing his legs to give out beneath him.

“Y-Yes! You are absolutely right! I will dedicate myself wholeheartedly to the Hatherin Family and spare no effort!”
