Chapter 126 : A Single Punch Shatters Sisterhood
Selina spent so ti preparing the compound. Pharmacology was not particularly difficult for her; when applied to Vampires, the only real question was the dosage.
Hopefully it would work…
However, when she was still more than a dozen steps away from the laboratory, she heard a commotion from inside.
First ca the crisp sound of glass shattering.
Then sothing heavy scraped against the floor.
Selina stopped outside the door, her hand resting on the handle, but she did not push it open imdiately.
Soon enough, the source of the chaos—the green-haired nace herself—could be heard shouting and laughing from the other side.
Annabella had taken a fighting stance, raising her fists and swinging them dramatically in front of her.
“Just a re Vampire! Laughable! And I am no weakling either!”
Eve stood three ters away.
She held a broken chair leg in her hand, her body slightly crouched, her center of gravity pressed low.
Despite the taunt, her expression remained calm. In truth, she was quietly searching for an opening, identifying eighteen fatal points within a single second.
“Take this—my Flying Super C—”
“You two!”
Selina finally pushed the door open, her lips twitching as an oppressive aura poured from her like dark smoke.
Annabella’s move froze mid-sentence. Her left foot hovered in the air, and her entire body was stretched forward as she reached toward Eve.
Both of them turned their heads at the sa ti.
Then—very quickly—
Annabella lowered her foot.
Eve straightened her back.
Each of them took half a step backward, their eyes scanning the surroundings before locking onto the nearest chairs.
In the next instant, they sat down side by side almost simultaneously.
Hands neatly placed on their knees.
Perfectly obedient.
The oppressive pressure of an ancient Vampire was no joke. The troublemaking green-haired cat could not help but break out in a cold sweat, not even daring to raise a hand to wipe it away.
The white-haired cat rely blinked lightly but did not move either.
Selina looked at them.
Then she looked at the devastated laboratory.
Her fists clenched with audible cracks as she inhaled deeply several tis before asking slowly, word by word,
“Who… did… this?”
“Teacher, please listen to my explanation first—”
But before Annabella could finish, she saw Eve quietly lift a finger and point at her.
Her expression was perfectly innocent.
She had not spoken a single word, yet the aning was unmistakable.
Annabella’s cold sweat multiplied.
“Wait… that is not right, is it?” she said, turning toward Eve with a stiff smile and twitching lips.
We were accomplices!
Good sisters should at least coordinate their excuses! And you start the betrayal imdiately?!
Annabella had no ti to think.
She muttered a very elegant curse under her breath before turning back to face the approaching figure.
As Selina’s shadow fell across her face, she swallowed hard and forced a smile.
“Well… if I said this was all an accident, would you believe ?”
“You an…” Selina said slowly, her voice cold, “you accidentally broke the glass.”
“Yes…”
“And then accidentally overturned the table.”
“Y-yes…”
“And finally, you accidentally snapped the chair in half. Is that correct?”
“Yes! Exactly! That is completely correct!”
Annabella nodded vigorously, her head shaking like a wet dog.
“Haha! I always knew Teacher possessed unparalleled wisdom—uh—!”
Thud.
Annabella’s eyes rolled back, and she collapsed face-first onto the floor.
At the final mont, her right hand stretched forward, pointing weakly toward the still-open door.
Do not stop here!
Looking at the heroic remains on the floor, Selina quietly withdrew her hand and turned to Eve.
Eve was still seated on the chair.
Her hands rested neatly on her knees, her posture elegant and composed.
The broken chair leg had sohow been quietly placed beside her foot.
The two of them stared at each other silently.
Ti passed.
After two and a half minutes, Eve finally moved.
She nudged the broken chair leg slightly farther beneath the chair with her foot, hiding it more carefully.
Adorably futile.
Selina did not laugh.
Perhaps she simply was not soone who laughed easily.
“At this point, is there still any need to pretend?” she asked.
“I am sorry,” Eve admitted instantly.
Then she pointed at the body on the floor.
“I only touched the chair. Everything else was her doing.”
After all, good sisters existed to be betrayed.
If not now, when?
In her testimony, she treated her sister’s na like a comma—casually inserted wherever necessary.
The picture of innocence.
Flawless.
Selina opened her mouth as if to say sothing, then stopped herself and rubbed her temples.
Forget it…
They were all of the sa kind. No need to get angry.
She would simply make Annabella pay full compensation later.
It was not even that expensive.
Each piece of broken glass cost only twenty thousand.
However many pieces had shattered—that was how much she would pay.
Yes.
That would do.
With that decided, Selina handed Eve the prepared compound.
The container was small, barely the width of a finger in radius. Inside, the liquid was an oddly vivid pink.
“Although it has been a long ti since I made this, I am confident in its effect. However—”
Her words abruptly stopped.
Eve had already taken the vial and swallowed it in one gulp.
She even smacked her lips afterward.
Hm.
It tasted slightly sweet.
“I was not finished speaking…”
“What is it?”
“To suppress your appetite, I prepared sothing that might cause… certain unusual side effects. Considering the high tolerance of Vampires, I even increased the dosage slightly.”
“So?”
Eve blinked.
She was about to set down the empty vial—
And then suddenly—
Her calm expression froze.
Her fingers tightened instinctively.
A strange heat began to rise from her lower abdon.
The sudden sensation forced her legs to press together.
W-what is happening…?
Why do I want to swallow so badly…?
Is this an illusion?
My body feels so hot…
Even my hands are trembling…
This is bad… I cannot control it at all.
“Are you alright?!” Selina exclaid, rushing forward to support the body that was about to collapse.
“Tch… I must be out of practice. Did I increase the dosage too much?” she muttered.
“I am fine… I am fi—mm!”
Eve’s eyes suddenly widened.
Her eyelashes trembled violently, as if struck by electricity.
She tried to speak, but no sound ca from her parted lips.
At so point, one of her hands had pressed against her lower abdon, sinking slightly through the fabric of her skirt.
Her legs pressed together even tighter than before.
Within those crimson eyes now swirled far too many emotions—confusion, panic, and the fragile calm she struggled to maintain slowly crumbling away.
Her body could not withstand the sudden impact.
Her eyes betrayed her.
Moisture gathered at the corners, and even her breathing began to tremble.
“Breathe. Slowly, breathe!” Selina said urgently. “Endure it. Once it passes, you will be fine!”
Eve wanted to follow the instruction.
But her mind could no longer think.
Let alone control her breathing.
At last, Selina could no longer support her weight.
Eve collapsed to her knees.
The mont she hit the floor, she seed to let out a strange sound.
“Mm—”
