Xie Mulan folded her arms and leaned back on the chair. "That’s very rude, you know."
"I don’t care."
"Not just towards but towards Uncle Cheng as well. He sounded very hopeful when he asked to et you."
"He won’t feel hurt. Doctors’ feelings are pretty much dead."
"Doctors are also humans."
"Not the Yang family."
Xie Mulan said, "I am genuinely interested in you."
"So are many other won."
"Ugh, please," she rolled her eyes, "Don’t compare to those pesky socialites. I don’t even go to their parties."
"Sa here."
"Doesn’t that an we match at least in so sense?" She smiled.
"Not necessarily. It only ans that your brain is functioning."
"You like people with a functioning brain."
"Not enough to get married."
"We can at least try getting to know each other for so ti. Our fathers also know each other."
"My father knows many other fathers. Should I marry all their daughters?" He sneered.
Xie Mulan burst into laughter. "You certainly have a way with words."
"Can I leave?"
"Why are you in such a hurry?"
"I have things to do."
"I have things to do too. I am a CEO."
"Then why are we here wasting our ti?"
"Because Dr. Yang," she leaned forward, "I am thinking of marriage prospects and I feel that we will be a good match. We both belong to well to do families, have great careers and our worlds are in the sa sphere."
"You are talking as if you are striking a deal."
"Marriage is a deal, not a fairy tale. What, are you looking for a dreamy love marriage?"
"Don’t make puke."
"Hence proved," she chuckled.
"Can I leave?"
Xie Mulan sighed. "Is the temper showing because of the threat to your dical license?"
His eyes narrowed.
"Why are you looking at like that? You have caused quite a stir with the teenager’s case. Even though my working field is different to yours, I am still aware of the latest news. Though that cop...what was her na again?" She furrowed her brows trying to rember.
"Song Jia."
Xie Mulan was surprised. "You know a woman’s na?"
He said nothing.
"Yes, Song Jia. Though she is being interrogated, you aren’t out of danger so easily either.
"I would like to know who can bring this ’danger’ to ," Mingshen mockingly smiled.
"Then why do you sound so impatient if everything is under your control?"
Mingshen only stared at her, not knowing the answer himself. Nothing ever much bothered him but these past few days had been irritable to him like hell.
"Oh, I know," Xie Mulan bead. "How about you play so gas? My company develops so great gas. It can take your mind off all the overloading."
"I am not a kid."
"There are gas for adults as well. Wait, I will quickly show you one."
Mingshen’s mouth twitched.
"It will just take a minute to check. Don’t be such a spoilsport. We can have so good ti as reasonable adults. Or is it too difficult for you to be reasonable?"
His gaze darkened.
She slid her phone on the table and said, "Try it."
Mingshen took a bored look at the flashing screen. But his attention soon focused on the ga. One would think that the ga might have really impressed him.
But Mingshen was staring at the brand’s logo at the very bottom of the ga.
"Quantum Gas?"
"Yup," then she frowned. "Why is there a question mark on your face? Wait...you do know that I am the CEO of Quantum Gas, right?"
Mingshen stared at the ga in silence.
"Ah!" She was in disbelief. "I cannot believe you didn’t even know this simple fact about . I know you aren’t interested in the human population in general, but isn’t this too much?"
Mingshen’s interest was definitely piqued, but he kept it to himself. Now that he faintly rembered, Yang Cheng had indeed ntioned about Quantum Gas before but he hadn’t paid much attention to it.
"I guess it does feel like a good idea to get to know you."
She looked surprised. "What changed your mind?"
"I have so young bloods working in my lab who love these silly gas."
"The gas are not silly. They can be played at any age."
He shrugged. His phone rang with a buzz and he felt annoyed. It was Bojing. He thought that it could be related to Zexi and the investigation so he stepped out.
"What?"
"Boooossss!!!"
Bojing’s panic-stricken voice almost burst his eardrums. "Quiet! What’s wrong?"
"I-It’s terrible!"
"Your definition of terrible and my definition of terrible are very different so I won’t sweat it," he grimaced.
"It’s about sis Jia!"
His eyes narrowed. "What about Spicy?"
"Y-you know how her case w-was going to be heard in the c-court next month, right?"
"I have a good mory, Assistant Lu. So co to the main point," he gritted his teeth.
"B-But it’s bad now! I just ca t-to know from B-Bro Huojin that the case’s date has been preponed to tomorrow!"
"What the hell?"
"Y-yes and f-from his tone, it f-felt like getting sis free from the case will be..."
"...Impossible?" Mingshen’s expression was frigid and deadly.
"A-and it’s not over, Boss! Y-you have also gotten summons to c-co to the dical Association tomorrow!"
Getting Jia’s case preponed to the sa day as Mingshen’s summon to the dical Association ant only one thing for him. In no way was it a coincidence.
That She wants to completely cut us out huh...The last link to investigate this gang.
Suddenly, Mingshen burst into laughter. He laughed hard as if he was watching so standup cody show.
"B-Boss, how can you l-laugh in such a situation!?" Bojing cried.
"You know assistant, I was being very very patient all this ti. I was doing things by the books only because of that damn cooperation contract. But if sobody will keep poking like this, then they will only see my ugly side."
