On the other side at Quantum Gas, Xun Chunlei, one of the managers, welcod Zexi into the company.
"Oh, I see that you have already t up with Li Beiye. That’s good. I am Xun Chunlei. You will be working under . It is a pleasure to have you on board," he flashed a smile.
Oh wow, for a manager’s post, he is quite young, Zexi thought.
"Thank you, Sir!" She bowed. "I will do my best!"
"That’s the spirit. Now since Li Beiye is already aware of the work, she will teach you about the tasks and so of our daily norms here. Sobody from IT will soon give you your laptop, after which you will have to complete so formalities. Until then, you can look around the office and your desk and et your colleagues. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to approach ."
"Understood!"
Li Beiye took her to the workzone area where dozens of cubicles were filled with employees, rapidly typing on their laptops. So of them almost looked like zombies.
Zexi gulped.
Am I going to beco like that soon?
Beiye chuckled. "Don’t be afraid. Quantum Gas recently launched a ga so things have never been busier. As with any new launch, there are tons of questions and tickets and sotis bug fixes. This phase will get over too."
"Oh."
"Here is your seat," Beiye held a chair and showed Zexi her workstation. "Hehe, I am sitting right beside you, so feel free to ask anything," she winked.
Zexi felt relieved with the feeling that Huojin’s acquaintance would be there to accompany her at all tis.
"Thanks a lot."
"Cool. Just stay here for a bit. I will quickly bring so coffee for myself. Do you want so?"
"No, no. I am fine," the acute nervousness didn’t allow her to relax.
She shrugged. "Just try to chill. Everybody is really nice here."
Zexi looked around the place on her own and while so employees did greet her and welcod her, others did not have ti to even look up from their computers.
As she looked around, she found a lone cubicle at the far end of the workzone. The sweet decoration had caught her attention. It was evident that whoever employee it was, gave it his all even for such a mundane task as beautifying their workplace.
Aw, this small cat plushie is so cute!
Zexi leaned forward to touch it.
"Stop!"
She stiffened and quickly stepped away. She felt as if her chest would burst at any mont.
"Y-Yes...?"
A woman stood before, narrowing her eyes at Zexi. Her expression scread of annoyance and irritation.
"What the hell are you going around touching other people’s stuff?"
"S-sorry! Is this your cubicle?"
"It isn’t but it doesn’t matter!" She glared at her.
The attention of other employees quickly fell upon them and they whispered amongst themselves. Zexi felt embarrassed.
"I r-really didn’t an to intrude..."
The woman gritted her teeth. "Don’t do it again."
"Why are you being so edgy, Miss. Teng Bo?" Li Beiye arrived just in ti with her hot coffee.
The woman, Teng Bo, who was admonishing Zexi, looked even further agitated by Beiye’s appearance. She glanced at Zexi again and sneered. "Ah, I see. So she must be in Xun Chunlei’s team."
"That is right. Is there a problem with that?"
"You very well know what the problem is, Li Beiye. Don’t act so innocent. Nobody in Xun Chunlei’s team can be trusted."
She smiled. "Isn’t that going a little too far-fetched?"
"Mind your tongue, brat. You are only a fledgling intern. But then again, what can I expect from the people working with Xun Chunlei? You only know how to steal other people’s hardwork and jump the gun to the lucrative managerial positions. That is why you are on his team."
She clenched her fists, her eyes blazing with fury. "That promotion should have belonged to Zhang Luqi..."
Zexi’s ears perked up.

The sa woman she was tasked to find more about. Her heart pounded.
So this woman knows her. Quite closely.
"This is her desk and I am taking care of it, so don’t hover here ever again," she warned Zexi.
"O-once again, I am very sorry..."
Beiye took her away and at so distance away from Teng Bo, she consoled her. "Don’t take it to heart. She has been like that for so ti."
Zexi took this chance. "I-I really feel guilty. It seems she is very close to the person who worked at that cubicle. Who...was she?"
Beiye paused. "It is an unfortunate thing really. That desk belonged to Zhang Luqi. She worked in the core developnt team. The sad thing is that she went through a horrible accident three months back and since then, she is in a coma."
"That’s really sad..." Zexi acted the part even though she was already aware of the fact. "But I heard she was talking sothing about a promotion...?"
She waved her hand in dismissal. "Ah, don’t worry about it. There is always friendly competition and rivalry in a company. Sir Xun was promoted this ti and that made Miss. Teng furious. Well, she and Mrs. Zhang have been really close so she found it unfair and felt that Mrs. Zhang Luqi should have been promoted."
"Oh."
"As a friend, you might feel biased but a company only sees the best perforr who brings profits," she smiled. "Heed my advice and stay away from Miss. Teng. She will only bring unnecessary trouble for you. Just stick around my side."
"Of course! I don’t want to get into trouble haha..."
Okay, so Miss. Teng Bo is the key to find out more about Zhang Luqi. Perhaps she knows sothing about these She mbers!
Beiye glanced at her, her lips curving into a smile. "Perfect~ Let’s get your laptop, shall we?"

The sa evening at a high end restaurant, Judge Zhi was out for dinner with his family.
"Are there any hot waitresses here?" His grandson, Zhi Guanyu eagerly looked around.
"Mind your behavior, Guanyu," he warned. "We are at a public place."
His mother sent a warning glare at her son to which he only shrugged. "Just kidding. So serious."
Judge Zhi took the nu card and called for a waiter. But suddenly, he saw a figure randomly pulling the fourth chair for his seat.
"What a coincidence to et you here, Judge Zhi?" An evil but a charming chuckle ca.
Zhi Guanyu and his mother were dumbfounded at this sudden entry. Judge Zhi stared at the man.
"...Dr. Yang Mingshen."
Mingshen smiled. "How is your grandson doing, Judge Zhi?"
