The Great Commander, or perhaps other Hidden Guards, occasionally speak in hushed tones. Sotis their conversations are behind her back, and sotis they are not. The ssages they reveal, such as her Jiujiu has gone mad, or Lao Ba has successfully seized power, and those Ancient Tribe Aristocratic families...
She had thought that the Ancient Tribe Aristocratic families were loyal to her, but they showed their true colors after her mishap.
However, the most helpless thing in the world is to know what has happened yet remain powerless to change the situation!
All she could do was listen day after day, listen, listen, without any ans to convey her own opinions.
She could only live like a walking dead soul, helplessly trapped in the solitary world imprisoning her.
Gradually, she began to understand the aning of Lao Ba’s smile. That was the last scene she saw before she fell into this state.
Lao Ba plotted and hard her, but did not have to worry about retaliation from the Hidden Guard. Because as long as she was alive, as long as she had a slim chance, as long as she had a trace of hope, her Great Commander and those Hidden Guards loyal to her would never give up.
Yet living like this was even more painful than death.
At first, she had hoped the Great Commander and others would quickly find miraculous individuals to help her escape this plight. But over the years, every ti she hoped, every ti her hopes were dashed. Until the hopes were completely shattered, did she fall into despair!
Even more akin to the feeling of ashes in the heart, losing the will to live?
She had endured enough of that helpless tornt!
But then again, what could be done?
In her current state, even if she wanted to seek death, she couldn’t accomplish it, because her body simply would not obey her command.
Later, she heard the Great Commander inadvertently ntion that it was not poison she was afflicted with, but a Gu Insect. But she couldn’t figure out when, where, and how this Gu Insect managed to enter her body?
Before the incident, all she knew was that she was poisoned, but where did this Gu Insect co from?
Moreover, this Gu Insect was peculiar, even the Empress had pondered deeply; with the severe poisoning she had at that ti, without a solution, without an antidote, she would undoubtedly be dead soon.
However, after being infected with the Gu, the toxins inside her body were gradually counteracted by this strange Gu Insect. Though not completely clear, residual toxins remained, but they no longer affected her lifespan.
Later she understood, this so-called accidental mistake wasn’t a genuine mistake, but deliberately engineered by the opposition. That Gu Insect, which left her in a comatose state, used the toxins in her body as nutrients. Once it grew to a certain extent, it stopped absorbing nutrients and quietly lay dormant in her body, like an eternal being; and as long as this Gu Insect remained inside her, she couldn’t escape from this dilemma.
Lao Ba did this because she had already decided to seize power before harming her.
If Lao Ba had directly killed her, when she ascended to power, the abnormalities she displayed would directly reveal that her accident was her doing, she was the perpetrator.
