Dragon King's Harem Chapter 307. Impolite III

Evelyn and Evelina’s jaws practically hit the floor when they saw the shimring green crystal in my hand. It wasn’t just any crystal—it was a rare gem crafted by Sela herself. Most enchanted stones could freeze a mont in ti, like a magical snapshot. But this one? This one could record.

“Do crystals like that even exist?” Evelyn asked, her eyes glued to the radiant gem like it was the eighth wonder of the world.

Evelina leaned in, a smile tugging at her lips. “We’ve got a real genius behind these creations,” she said, clearly proud of Sela’s work.

I gave Evelyn a sharp look. “So, do you agree?” I asked, making sure she was ready to proceed. No backing out now.

She hesitated, her expression shifting as she weighed her options. Finally, she nodded. “Fine,” she said softly, her eyes a mix of curiosity and nerves.

Evelina took that as her cue to leave. She gave a knowing glance, nodded slightly, and disappeared, leaving Evelyn and alone. Without missing a beat, I activated the crystal. It floated between us, casting a soft green glow over the space.

[You have activated the Recording Crystal!]

I turned to Evelyn, getting straight to the point. “Alright, what do you want to talk about?” My tone was no-nonsense—I didn’t have ti for small talk.

Evelyn’s gaze flickered to the glowing crystal, then back to . She hesitated, clearly struggling to find the right words.

“You only got ten minutes,” I reminded her, hoping the ti limit would push her to the point faster.

She took a deep breath, her words spilling out awkwardly. “I, uh… I just wanted to say it’s an honor to et you, Your Majesty. Ever since Evelina first told about you, I’ve been dreaming of this mont.”

I blinked, trying to process her words. “That’s… nice,” I replied flatly, unsure what to make of this. People didn’t usually request a private eting just to fangirling. At least not for royals.

Evelyn pressed on, her voice growing steadier. “And I’ve always admired you. I’ve read everything about you—every news story, every book. What you’ve accomplished is incredible.”

I nodded politely, but sothing about her tone felt off. She sounded too sincere, like she was building up to sothing bigger. Was she buttering up for a reason?

She hesitated again, her face a mix of doubt and determination. “I…” Her voice trailed off, and she glanced at , clearly wrestling with whatever she wanted to say.

I leaned in slightly, curiosity getting the better of . “Evelyn, just say it. You can tell anything,” I urged, softening my tone. Whatever it was, it was clearly weighing on her.

She stayed silent for a long mont, her lips pressed together. Finally, she blurted out sothing entirely unexpected. “I just wanted to say… I’m genuinely happy right now, and I hope your marriage with my sister goes well.”

That… wasn’t what I expected. Her words were heartfelt, but her tone and body language had second-guessing. It was almost like she was trying to say sothing deeper but couldn’t get the words out. Was this so kind of elaborate charade? A veiled love confession? Or was I just overthinking?

I didn’t want to make assumptions. I barely knew her, and there was no way I’d risk my reputation by jumping to conclusions. If she had romantic feelings or concerns, it was on her to speak up. I wasn’t going to read between the lines without a clear signal.

“Thank you,” I said simply, deciding to play it safe. No need to complicate things further.

Evelyn’s eyes dropped to the floor, her face a mix of frustration and uncertainty. It was clear she was holding sothing back, but I wasn’t about to press her for answers she wasn’t ready to give.

To ease the tension, I decided to set so boundaries. “Just so you know,” I began, “this recording won’t be shared with anyone unless there’s a serious misunderstanding or a scandal that threatens us both. You have my word on that.”

Her eyes lit up briefly at my reassurance, a flicker of hope breaking through her guarded expression. But then, just as quickly, her face fell again. Whatever she was dealing with was clearly complicated.

Evelyn’s next request caught off guard. “I was wondering,” she started hesitantly, “could you give a nto to commorate this eting?”
