Liu Banxia was in a good mood. For him, today was an unexpected gain. Winning Li Mingwu’s approval was no easy feat.

After all, promoting this new teaching and training program required the cooperation of these guiding doctors. If they were perfunctory in their efforts, suitable candidates could not be selected from among these interns and resident doctors.

Granted, externally hired doctors were also less hassle and could start working imdiately, but they were slightly more expensive. Moreover, doctors trained in-house were also convenient to use. After all, having spent so much ti together, their capabilities were well understood, which could also reduce the integration period.

Even Chen Xuehai, the Chief Director’s grandson and a genuinely skilled individual who had studied abroad, still needed ti to adapt and find suitable support staff after arriving at the Second Hospital.

Surgery was never a one-person affair; it was a collaborative effort completed by a team, with individuals simply playing roles of varying importance.

After observing the surgery, their large group naturally attracted a wave of attention as they exited the operating room. In particular, the sight of Li Mingwu and Liu Banxia conversing cheerfully at the front sparked nurous thoughts in many people’s minds.

In entertainnt industry terms, this was the "center stage" position. Although Liu Banxia was rely a chief resident, he was a rather special one; the task of accompanying Li Mingwu had to be fulfilled by him.

Even if it was just a matter of position, for many who liked to analyze things, this was a very significant event.

Heart surgeries typically consud a lot of ti, so by the ti they erged, the peak lunch hour had already passed. However, for them, this was actually a good thing, as they could push tables together.

Although Liu Banxia had said he would treat them, they couldn’t really behave as if they were at a restaurant, sitting at a large table and ordering elaborate dishes. It was just like usual: they took turns getting their food, and then added a few extra dishes.

"Kong Fancheng, did you enjoy your ti with Old Du today?" Liu Banxia asked with a smile.

"Teacher Liu, although I had ntally prepared myself for the arduous work of an anesthesiologist, I didn’t expect it to be so grueling," Kong Fancheng said candidly.

Liu Banxia nodded. "That’s right. One must have such an understanding in our profession. If you don’t know the difficulty of the challenges you’ll face in the future, then your work will beco very hard.

"Actually, it’s not just the Anesthesiology Departnt; all our departnts are like this. No matter what, as long as your hospital has a good reputation, the number of patients will always far exceed the doctors’ capacity to see them.

"So I said when I visited your dical school, this is the crucial mont. It’s not only related to your graduation certificate but also to the kind of life you want to have in the future.

"If your dical skills are very high, then you will have many patients in the future. Having many patients ans your ti will be seized by them. It’s not that you don’t want to get off work on ti, but because there are too many patients who need care, there is endless work to be done.

"If you don’t believe , you can ask Chief Director Li. Is it possible for him to have a single empty slot in his surgery schedule within a month? Unless it’s an ergency surgery or a patient transferred from another hospital, only then can soone be forcefully squeezed in."

Li Mingwu nodded; there was nothing to hide. It truly was like that; too many patients ca seeking him out due to his reputation.

Being known as a "famous scalpel" naturally carried a certain influence and additional attributes.

Zhou Shuwen was the sa; his surgery schedule was always full. Therefore, many tis when encountering patients who needed consultations, Liu Banxia rarely asked Zhou Shuwen to join.

He knew Zhou Shuwen was very busy. When Zhou Shuwen first arrived at the Ergency Center, it wasn’t an exaggeration to say he was performing surgeries almost non-stop every day. And that was with Liu Banxia and the others helping to clear the entire backlog.

It wasn’t as if reaching Zhou Shuwen’s level ant he only took on surgeries that were Level Three at minimum or of Level Four standard. Even Zhou Shuwen couldn’t escape the reality of social networks and patients who ca specifically seeking him out due to his reputation.

"So, dical skills are like a ’double-edged sword.’ They can bring you fa and fortune, but they can also make you miserable. Before becoming a renowned doctor, you need to put in more hard work than others. After becoming a renowned doctor, you need to see even more patients.

"My requirent for you is actually very simple: I hope you are willing to endure hardship, because only then can you learn sothing truly valuable.

"If you have connections and can find an easy job after graduation, I don’t think you need to co here and suffer. After all, in the end, all they will look at is your graduation certificate.

"Even if you manage to learn my laparoscopic appendectomy technique, you might not use it once in your entire life. After two or three years pass, even if you stand by an operating table again, you might not dare to make the first cut.

"In that case, it would be a huge waste of resources. Do you think cultivating a qualified doctor is rely the result of a standardized process? In reality, our guiding doctors invest a great deal of thought and effort into it.

"I’m telling you the absolute truth. I’ve said it before, and I hope you will consider it carefully. It still holds true now: recruiting enough interns and resident doctors isn’t difficult for us. What’s difficult is finding people who are willing to learn attentively and earnestly."

Li Mingwu finally spoke up. "Indeed, the difficulties we are now facing are far greater than you can imagine.

"Many people are just aiming for graduation certificates and residency completion certificates. With those, they can get a job and earn money. In reality, many have already neglected their studies and haven’t seriously considered what they want to do in the future.

"Banxia is right; this is a critical year for you all. Wasting so much ti and effort rely for a residency completion certificate is sotis just not worth it.

"Logically speaking, if we encounter interns and residents who just want to coast along, we’d have an easier ti. They et the minimum standards, we pass them, and both sides are relaxed.

"But often, our true inner feelings are actually quite resentful. We feel that our hard work isn’t being taken seriously, and during the teaching process, it’s inevitable that emotions get involved.

"Then it just becos a matter of both sides going through the motions. Once you get your residency completion certificate, how much will you have actually learned here? Probably not much at all.

"Currently, Banxia is assisting Chief Director Zhou with managing the residency training program, and I think his approach is very good. Teaching is a two-way street. If every intern could be like Liang Xiaolin, Liu Yiqing, and their cohort, what kind of teaching atmosphere would that create?

"It’s all reciprocal. Don’t treat the internship as just a task to be completed; treat it as an opportunity to enhance your own abilities."

The students couldn’t help but nod. Indeed, even among them, the idea of prioritizing graduation first was present in their minds.

"Dr. Liu, just getting to lunch?"

At this ti, Director Fang from the production team ca over with a group of people.

"Hello, Director Fang. Have you just finished the interviews? There’s plenty of ti; no need to work so hard. Allow to introduce you; this is Chief Director Li Mingwu from our hospital," Liu Banxia said.

"Hello, Chief Director Li. I’ve heard so much about you," Director Fang said.

"Hello, Director Fang. Thank you for your hard work this ti," Li Mingwu said with a smile.

"Chief Director Li, I have to file a complaint with you," Director Fang said.

"Our original interview plan was very well-crafted, but after arriving here, we were captivated by the new proposal Dr. Liu presented.

"During our usual interviews, we tend to focus only on the visible aspects. Today, however, allowed us to notice many situations we hadn’t paid attention to before, giving us a completely new understanding of the hospital."

Li Mingwu glanced at Liu Banxia with so surprise. This kid really has guts, he thought, impressed. But it seed the results were quite good; otherwise, the production crew wouldn’t be this excited.

"Director Fang, please go ahead and eat. If there’s anything our hospital can do to cooperate, you can speak directly to Wang Chao," Liu Banxia said.

"Don’t worry, we’ve beco quite familiar with Doctor Wang. We won’t hesitate to ask if we need anything," Director Fang said, nodding, then led his group to the cafeteria counter to get food.

"You’re quite bold. Did you adjust the interview direction?" Li Mingwu asked with a smile.

Liu Banxia nodded. "Mainly, I wanted them to interview so of the behind-the-scenes staff in our hospital. They are also a testant to our hospital’s overall capabilities.

"It seems to be having a decent effect so far. However, I reckon it will, at most, be an additional segnt; it still depends on how many episodes they plan for the program. If they produce many, the content can be richer. In any case, let’s provide them with more material so the program’s content can be more substantial.

"You all should also pay attention. When you go back, make sure to spread the word about what we discussed today. We don’t want any students to be misled and mistakenly co to our Second Hospital."

The students were montarily stunned, unsure of what Liu Banxia ant. Was he joking, or was he serious? They hadn’t heard anything about being advised to withdraw in advance, had they?

"You can just take it literally," Liu Yiqing said. "This ti, the hospital’s teaching and training program isn’t just being taken very seriously by Teacher Liu; the hospital leadership is also placing great importance on it."

The students nodded eagerly. For them, what they had witnessed and learned today was truly overwhelming; they needed to go back and properly digest it all.

It could be said that today they had seen so of the true realities within the hospital, which differed significantly from what they had previously known and imagined.

Even if they had interned at hospitals before, those stints were always very short. For them, it was more like briefly observing the hustle and bustle, hardly enough ti to understand the internal operations of a hospital.

Today, however, was different. With all they had seen, they would certainly have a lot to boast about when they returned.
