Chapter 1157: Cain vs Ophiron (III) Chapter 1157: Cain vs Ophiron (III) A massive explosion echoed across the dinsion as Cain’s dragon claw struck Ophiron, sending the battle monk crashing into the glass-like do that enclosed the battlefield.
The monk’s golden defenses saved him from being crushed outright, but the force of the impact left him gasping, blood dripping from his mouth as he slumped against the wall.
Cain’s eyes burned with determination as he dug his claws into the ground, stabilizing himself.
His chest swelled, and the full might of his energy gathered within his lungs.
The air around him crackled with power as his right lung filled with lightning-infused yin energy and his left with fire-infused yang.
The swirling energies danced inside his body before they were unleashed with terrifying force.
“Yin-Yang Lightning-Fire Dragon Breath!” A blinding torrent of black lightning and searing white flas erupted from Cain’s maw, the fusion of opposites creating an overwhelming plasma beam of destructive energy that streaked toward Ophiron like a storm of destruction.
Ophiron’s eyes widened in horror as he saw the attack barreling toward him.
His body was battered, his energy reserves dangerously low, and the space around him was sealed, making it impossible to dodge in ti.
Blood continued to drip from his mouth as he roared with all the strength he had left.
“Endless Golden Palms of Buddha!” Every last bit of energy within Ophiron’s body and soul was unleashed in a flurry of golden palms, massive ethereal hands forming and firing forward one after another.
The golden palms crashed into the dragon’s breath, creating a clash of titanic proportions.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!” The two forces collided with a deafening roar.
Lightning and flas surged against the relentless barrage of golden energy, the opposing powers creating a maelstrom that spread in all directions.
Cain roared, his scales crackling with energy, as Ophiron scread, his golden palms firing ceaselessly to counter the overwhelming onslaught.
The battle reached its crescendo as neither could overpower the other.
Finally, the clashing energies reached critical mass, triggering a massive explosion.
Flas, lightning, and golden energy overwheld every inch of the dinsion, consuming the battlefield in a sea of destruction.
When the light finally faded, the air was thick with the aftermath of the explosion.
Ophiron struggled to breathe, his energy dangerously low, and the wounds on his body deepened by the cursed power of Reaper Touch.
Yet, his focus remained unbroken as he stood ready, knowing that the dragon had not yet given up.
Suddenly, Ophiron’s eyes narrowed as he sensed movent through the dissipating flas.
A figure dashed toward him, much smaller than before, only slightly over thirty ters in size, but moving with incredible speed.
It was Cain, now in his dragonborn form, moving faster than Ophiron had anticipated.
The monk’s instincts kicked in, and he prepared to defend himself.
But just as he moved, the eyes of the dragonborn glowed with an eerie light, and an invisible force struck his mind like a sledgehamr.
For a brief mont, the world around Ophiron trembled, everything growing dark.
His overwhelming soul force allowed him to break free from the illusion almost instantly, but it wasn’t fast enough.
Before he could fully recover, Cain’s dragonborn form tackled him with imnse force, crashing them both into the walls of the dinsion.
Ophiron felt several bones in his ribcage shatter from the impact, pain flooding his body.
But the agony didn’t last long.
In the next instant, a torrent of scarlet flas erupted from Cain’s maws, flooding the monk’s being and burning their way down to his very soul.
Cain didn’t hesitate.
He activated the power of the Oniric Truth of Gluttony, directing the scarlet flas with the power of his Eye of Gluttony, allowing them to envelop and consu Ophiron’s soul and True Na.
The monk’s body convulsed, his eyes wide in shock, but he never had the chance to scream.
Within monts, the light faded from Ophiron’s eyes as his soul was completely devoured.
The scarlet flas receded back into Cain’s body, carrying with them a burst of vitality, soul force, and, most importantly, the Legendary Innate Ability of the battle monk.
Cain stood, breathing heavily, a small smile forming on his face as he sensed the new sphere forming within his black hole.
Ophiron’s Legendary Innate Ability was now his to wield.
But the mont of triumph was short-lived.
Suddenly, blood began to leak from every orifice of Cain’s face, his vision blurring as an intense, splitting pain erupted in his skull.
The backlash from using both Oniric Truths at once hit him with full force, threatening to tear his mind apart.
Cain gritted his teeth, feeling as though his brain might split in two at any second.
His entire body trembled, the strain almost unbearable.
The battle was won, but now the scarlet dragon needed to use all he had to overco the ferocious backlash that threatened to leave him in a coma.
Luckily for Cain, the influx of soul force and vitality from consuming Ophiron helped him regain so semblance of stability just in ti to witness the dinsion starting to crumble around him.
Without the battle monk, who was the core of the dinsion, it would collapse in re seconds, expelling everything inside.
— The monks of Mount Oblivion had been watching the broken pagoda where their leader, Ophiron, had vanished.
The vortex that had swallowed their master reappeared for the briefest of monts.
The people from the Oblivion Cult hoped to see him erge victorious.
Instead, they were greeted by a blinding flash of lightning and raw energy.
The explosion rocked the mountain, and the ground beneath them quaked as if the earth itself recoiled in terror.
The monks scrambled, eyes wide with confusion and horror.
They moved quickly to protect one another, instinctively forming defensive formations as they shielded themselves from the explosion’s aftermath.
Dust and debris scattered in all directions, and for a mont, chaos reigned over the peaceful mountain.
None of them noticed the shadowy figure, cloaked in darkness, silently slipping away from the scene.
