Chapter 1507: The Night Prince’s plan Chapter 1507: The Night Prince’s plan A young man stood within one of the Gu Sect’s most imposing castles in the Inner Ring.

He wore his hair short, as dark as midnight, and his eyes contained revolving vortices of shadow that radiated mystery and nace.

This individual was none other than the Night Prince.

He stood at the peak of Divine Transformation but had already proven himself capable of killing Peak Divine Transcendence Masters-a remarkable feat that earned him fear and grudging admiration within the sect.

Ordinarily, people described the Night Prince as aloof, patient, and always in command.

Yet, at this mont, his composure had fractured.

Alarm contorted his usually placid features as he stared at the runic formation glowing in front of him, only for cracks to spread across its surface before it collapsed in a burst of broken energy lines.

“What?

The detonation failed.

How?” the Night Prince shouted, slamming a fist onto the ornate table next to him.

He was not accustod to such outbursts, but this was no trivial matter.

Only monts earlier, he had confird that a massive explosion in the Death Fields had nearly leveled the region.

From the intelligence he had gathered, Diamon and the elite warriors he had sent to the Sky Sovereign’s Tomb were certainly dead.

The question now was whether Cain, the target of his elaborate plans, had died in that catastrophic blast-or managed to survive.

If Cain had died, the detonation rune placed inside the Nightmare Heart should never have needed activation at all.

But when the Night Prince decided to trigger the failsafe anyway, he discovered the unthinkable: the self-destruct rune had already been neutralized.

It could only an one thing-Cain was alive and had outwitted him.

The Night Prince’s mind raced, recalling every detail of his arrangent with Cain regarding the Nightmare Heart.

He had ensured that the Nightmare Heart, which he had ostensibly gifted but truly intended to use as a ti bomb, contained a ticulously crafted self-destruct formation.

If Cain had ever betrayed him or grown too dangerous, a single activation would have killed him instantly.

“He saw through my plan from the beginning,” the Night Prince muttered, his voice filled with anger and grudging admiration.

“Not only that, he tricked into believing he was oblivious.

He let think I had the upper hand.” A surge of murderous intent flared in his eyes.

“I need to kill him-now!” The Night Prince paced the hall, his boots echoing on polished stone tiles.

The more cunning and powerful Cain turned out to be, the more determined the Night Prince grew to extinguish him before he beca too dangerous.

For a brief mont, the Night Prince entertained the idea of leaving the Gu Sect to hunt Cain down himself.

But he quickly reined in his impulse.

First, the Night Prince had no idea where Cain was.

Worse, he had no guarantee he could beat him in direct combat.

After all, Cain had destroyed an entire team of Peak Divine Transcendence Masters-whether alone or through so trick was irrelevant.

The result spoke of terrifying strength and resourcefulness.

The Night Prince’s mind churned with possibilities.

“Maybe he cooperated with Lady Azure’s warriors to eliminate Diamon,” he wondered.

It seed unlikely at first glance, given that their original plan had been to reveal Cain’s identity as a traitor before killing him, but he could not dismiss any scenario at this point. Gritting his teeth, he tapped a crystal embedded in his wrist.

An intricate pattern of light spread across the table in front of him-a map of the Gu Sect’s territory and beyond, signifying his extensive spy network.

In re minutes, orders had been relayed to gather every available scrap of information about Lady Azure’s team.

The Night Prince needed to confirm whether or not they had returned from the Sky Sovereign’s Tomb.

He waited in tense silence, staring down at the map until a communication gem set near the table began to glow faintly.

A distorted voice ca through, delivering the awaited update.

The Night Prince listened intently, his expression growing darker with every sentence.

“What?

None of Lady Azure’s people returned either?” He set the gem down with a trembling hand.

“Could all of them be dead?” A chilling notion dawned on him: Cain might have not only eliminated Diamon and his elite soldiers but also slaughtered Lady Azure’s entire force.

The magnitude of that possibility nearly overwheld him.

“What kind of monster is that man?” A storm of panic and urgency churned in the Night Prince’s chest.

If all those people truly fell by Cain’s hand, or even as a result of a sche Cain orchestrated, then this foe was far more dangerous than even his worst projections.

A sense of dread seeped into the Night Prince’s thoughts.

He wanted Cain dead-no, he needed Cain dead.

Letting such a threat roam free was sheer lunacy, especially when Cain had every reason to harbor a grudge.

Yet, despite his burning desire, he could see no clear path forward. Fortunately for the Night Prince, he was not alone.

He sent a quick ssage through the communication gem and waited.

Monts later, the heavy doors of the hall swung open, and an Anima stepped inside.

She was none other than Zafira, one of the Night Prince’s most trusted allies.

“My Lord,” Zafira said, lowering her gaze in a gesture of deference.

Her voice was soft but carried a razor’s edge of intelligence.

The Night Prince wasted no ti.

He laid out the entire predicant: the failure of the self-destruct rune, the possibility that Cain had slain both Diamon’s squad and Lady Azure’s party, and the very real threat that Cain was now on the loose, potentially stronger than ever.

Zafira listened quietly, her brow furrowing with deep concern.

The more she heard about Cain, the sharper her own killing intent beca.

“I agree,” she said at last, her voice barely above a whisper but charged with conviction.

“We can’t let soone like that live, especially given the enmity between you.” The Night Prince nodded grimly.

“Precisely.

But how do we proceed?

We can’t track him, and we can’t be sure a direct confrontation would succeed.

Even if I assembled the full might of the Nightmare Kingdom, there’s no guarantee we’d find him in ti-let alone kill him.” For a mont, they let the silence stretch, each lost in thought.

The Night Prince’s frustration was palpable while Zafira’s eyes glimred with cold calculation.

Just when the tension threatened to snap, Zafira’s expression shifted as a spark of inspiration lit her features.

“Maybe,” she said, fixing her eyes on the Night Prince, “we don’t need to take care of him ourselves.” His imdiate reaction was a glare.

“And let him roam free?

Do you think he’ll simply forget our involvent once he’s had ti to consolidate his power?” The idea seed dangerously naive, but Zafira remained undeterred.

“We can’t rely on him forgetting,” she agreed.

“But what we can do is pass on what we’ve learned to another entity-one with the ans to locate and kill Cain regardless of where he hides and who will have more than enough reason to eliminate him.” Silence enveloped the room for a heartbeat.

Slowly, a cold, cunning smile crept across the Night Prince’s face.

Zafira’s idea was beginning to make sense.

“The old hag…” the Night Prince murmured, the venom in his voice underscoring his grudging respect for Lady Azure.
