Gigant was clearly not a muscle-brain and showed great wisdom. He offered Cain a path to the capital and requested so help. While imnsely powerful, he was one man and could not be in two places simultaneously, so he needed powerful and talented people to help him.
Cain did not have a problem helping, especially if, in doing so, he could carry on a personal mission.
"I am not familiar with your troops or terrain, so I would not be a good fit for rescue efforts or trying to dismantle territories, but there is sothing I excel at, and I assu you will soon be in need."
"What would that be?"
"Espionage and assassination."

As if reading the Duke's mind, Cain smiled before continuing with his words.
"In tis of danger, there are people like you that try to bring order, peace, and safety to the empire, but there are also those that want havoc and death to thrive as they prosper in them."
Gigant's eyes widened as he finally understood what Cain was talking about.
"The underworld."
No matter the place or race, as long as there was a civilization with rules and a structure, there would be a force that went against it, hiding in the shadows and performing their devious deeds away from the sight of the people.
Duke Gigant couldn't help but frown as he thought of the underworld. There was no troubling news right now, but he was smart enough to understand that those types of people would see an opportunity in the current havoc. It was just a matter of ti before cities were ransacked and people began to die under mysterious circumstances.
"What is your plan?"
"Proactive and straightforward. I will establish etings with low-level mbers of diverse dark factions across the Sector. I will then interrogate them to learn more about those higher in the food chain. Instead of waiting for the underworld to attack, I will wreak havoc among their forces and infrastructure.
If you give access to the military network and intelligence report of the Deus Behemoth Imperial Army, I could act much faster."
Gigant stared at Cain for a mont. The man was very young, but according to the military reports, he was a genius strategist and accustod to dealing with criminal factions, so it made sense to give that job to him.
"What do you want in return?"
Although Gigant would be bringing Cain to the capital in exchange for help, such a serious and dangerous task as infiltrating the underworld and wreaking havoc in it required so type of paynt.
"You don't need to give anything, but I will keep all the resources I take from those Dark Factions."
Cain's words made Gigant frown. Usually, after obtaining looted goods, the military would take control of them and return those that belonged to powerful factions.
"That is technically against the military rules, so I could not authorize a mission like that, but I could give the scout position. What you do during your surveillance is up to you, and I don't need to know about it."
Cain smiled as he heard Gigant's words. The Duke knew how to adapt to the situation and that rules could be bent in tis of danger and chaos like now. Besides, those stolen goods were already considered lost, and no one would bother him for not getting them back.
"Then I will be happy to obtain the status of a scout from the Colossus Imperial Fort."
Gigant nodded and used his computer ring to allow Cain's A.I. Chip access to the military network. He sent intelligence reports regarding the Deus Bahamut Empire's underworld, emphasizing the Dark Factions around the Colossus Sector.
Just like in Kronos, the Dark Factions that controlled Hyperion's underworld split into tiers, with those at Tier 0 being in control of Titans and affiliated with several Tier 1 Dark Factions. It seed that a single force like The Organization being in absolute control of the underworld of an entire continent was an anomaly.
Cain saw the flood of information, and while it would take him a while to sort it out and get actual clues, the [A.I. Chip Module] could analyze everything much faster. He was sure that by the end of the day, he would have several etings with low-level Tier 1 Dark Factions mbers.
"Although I don't need to know about your thods and what you take, I need reports about the people you kill and any information that details movents regarding the higher-ups from the Tier 0 Dark Factions."
Gigant did not care about wealth or the people that Cain might kill, but reports about Dark Factions were always in need as they could help the empire reduce the influence and power of the underworld.
Cain nodded, as the man's request was more than reasonable. Besides, he did not plan to dwell in the underworld this ti nor take control of Dark Factions. He would just interrogate them before killing everybody.
"I am ready to begin my mission at this mont, but first, I would like your help to buy so cultivation resources."
"I can help, but I am sorry to say that your Godslayer Human Empire's military credits will not work here."
Even if they were allies, every empire had its own type of currency, and their values were not the sa. Of course, that could be easily circumvented by simply changing your military credits into wave crystals, the energy coin everybody in Aether would use.
Cain just smiled, as he never intended to pay with military credits to begin with.
"It is okay. This is all I need."
Gigant saw a list reach his computer ring, and when he saw the materials described in it, his eyes widened. There were tons of Golden Level tal and even Platinum Level tal, along with all sorts of Genetic Coding materials, so used for refinent, and there were also treasures for purifying Astral Wave and Essence Wave.
